#warhammer40k #miniatures #gamesworkshop - Jak na to + styl
I found you the other week and just watching someone genuinely enjoy the hobby made me happy enough to crack out the old paint set and I've started repainting the start painting chaos box set, keep up the good work Jay!!
Me too
In Rogue Trader nids had something similar to zombies, the Mind-Slaver
"In its larval stage the parasitic Mind-Slaver feeds upon the Tyranid's captives. It burrows into the victim's skull and searches for the brain stem. Here it clasps in place with its legs and attaches itself to the base of the brain.
At first the immature creature is not powerful enough to influence its host but, as it feeds from the blood stream, it becomes stronger, allowing it to take over and direct all of the creature's higher brain functions. These victims are known as mind slaves. Although they are captives, their actions and thoughts are completely controlled by the Tyranids.
If the ship is attacked, the mind slaves will be amongst the first to move to its defense, especially if they belong to an armed warrior race whose fighting skills may be usefully employed by the Tyranids. Invaders will find themselves being attacked by sentient beings controlled by the Hive Mind including Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Orks and Eldar."
I remember reading that and thinking it made sense they got rid of them and made Genestealer cults a part of Tyranids.
I love beholders from D&D but have plans for them as Enslavers
I have bolted a large sheet of titanium on the back of my head
I've been watching this channel soooo much and, Jay's love of space marines and basing has inspired me to dust off my old tactical squad (literally over 15 years old) and get them prepped and based ready for painting. You guys are doing a great job and never fail to entertain, thanks guys.
Probably they will do the easiest thing ever, they will took an assault intercessors box and they will add with an upgrade the new jump pack and some weapon options
that will be 100 dollars
@@lv100Alice luckily I live in Europe so it will cost less
@@MyAlessandro1995 that’s not the right attitude at all.
Nope that would be smart to just add a sprue to an existing kit (remember kids only two two sprues per box)nope they'll make 2 new sprues to charge us 60$ and only 3 models in the box!
In regards to the rest of the video, it's silly him acting confused about what's up with the nomad model. It's a 3d print test model not the finished product, that way the details are a bit sharper and it looks a tad bit better than what we'll actually get, but they keep leaving lines in them because apparently they cant 3d print better than half the sellers on Etsy. They've been doing this for several years, it's nothing new.
It pains me also to old marines next to Primaris as well...because I hate Primaris so very, very much.
@@mrspeigel3593 mmm what does 3D print have to do with this post?
I would like them to keep the retro models around. Primaris look so similar to me. Firstborn units are all distinctive and different while Primaris are kinda just marines with varying levels of chunk in their armour. They also look more clean and modern which doesn't suit warhammer for me.
Honestly I feel primaris have been stunted because the armour they use is the exact same across the board. It’s such a subtle thing for firstborn units but you can see so many different variations of armour, in the tactical marine kit alone you have mark 6-8 to. And veteran kits go even further with it.
But with primaris the armour feels the exact same, besides black Templars there’s no real differences from model to model. They don’t sport varying helmet designs, they don’t have cobbled together marks of armour either. It’s just uniform across every unit. I do prefer primaris scale but they would look far better if they weren’t limited to just the primaris armour imo
@@lukefearns01 I know, right? The Primaris look like storm-troopers to me, all just slight variations of the regular white.
@@lukefearns01 not to mention the objectively better chapter upgrade sprue, and the chapter specific units
Genestealers are like candy corn, circus peanuts, or those awful strawberry candies from your grandparents house. A single massive run of them was made decades ago, and we have been passing them back and forth every since.
Hey I like those awful strawberry candies
I like primaris but I want them to incorporate terminators and land raiders into the line
I love those shelves in the background!
GW does 3d printed protoypes btw, all the ones you see in reveals are 3d printed
Yea you can see the layer lines on the new Chaos Legionnaires, especially on the axe. And on other prototypes like the new Eldar Guardians, they have layer lines on their catapults.
@@Orannis01 you can see it on these ash nomad's gun too
mind. blown.
Oh man that Jabba palace was the first models i ever had!! Loved it so much
Tyrannic war vets etc were sort of in odd spot and I'd love if I could have a spiritual successor in a new veteran truescale "firstborn" facing off against tyranids. Take me back to my infancy in Battle of Macragge
I want a new Dark Angel Veterans box.
I’m a little shocked that 8 and 9 got so high a rating. Especially 9 how it’s literally a mishmash of stuff pulled out of nowhere to try and slam through a full conclusion when it was left to pick up the pieces of 8 (where no matter your opinion of it, not a lot of story advancement occurs)
9 was the only star wars film i wanted to leave the cinema. 8 took a bit for me to realise the full scale of bad things it had going because of some good shots but 9 was utter garbage with every scene being even worse than the one before
I thought you were talking about 40k 8th and 9th edition. Safe to say… I was confused 😅
I think you’ve done a remarkable job of describing the Gellerpox Infected. God, what great models.
The more true-scale firstborn are going to be in that Horus Hersey box and I wouldn't be surprised if they use the legions units to replace Tactical Marines. Now, I'd be game for some upscaled Terminators (especially some new Grey Knight sculpts), but I'm probably selfish for wanting that.
I think they just might be done with first born, asides from grey knights unless they want to fuck their lore up too and chaos marines. They're taking the psycher in terminator armor off the shop soon, with no true scale terminators coming out other than chaos ones.
@@Remixersoloman yea, the size increase in the HH legionaries makes me wonder. But the lack of termies does have me worrying. I wouldn't be surprised if my beloved chonky dreadnoughts didn't go the way of the dodo as well.
Those Ash Waste Nomads look awesome! Easily the coolest looking gang for Necromunda so far IMHO.
It's 3D printed btw :) you can see the print lines on the gun body, barrel, and magazine. Maybe that's why you get a "resin" feel?
Its not generally known that the production painting team 'eavy metal' oftenly paint a resin mockup rather than the plastic production kit for 'front of box'. This is normally that the plastics are not ready in th schedule. So it is likely that the models on website and on box you see are resin but will be representative of the final plastic kit.
I've seen that they paint 3D printed stuff as opposed to resin.
@@Ben-fk9ey They're resin 3D prints by the looks of things, you can see the print lines on the gun
@@Ben-fk9ey yep resin 3d prints, a few years ago they would do resin casts in the same way they do for forge world but additive manufacturing has come a long way for getting the eavy metal team their minis quicker.
Hope you're having fun at the con.
Wow can't believe you found that Jabba set. I had the Hoth one and that was purchased over 30 years ago!
Nothing beats the dusty old model shop experience for me, always some treasure in there.
They could just re release the space marine heroes tactical marines but make a couple more weapon options. That'd be fine for the most part, and would be the least effort thing they could do. So I could see them doing it.
You should definitely get into necromunda, the narrative rpg elements would make for interesting battle reports. Plus so much flexibility and only need 10 models for a gang. So many cool models too, including gsc.
I just wanted you to know 18:01, you said “Luke’s pod racer” and Luke was never in a pod racer in any of the films. Also knee pad configuration is what I look for in all my models. Haha!! Great video! I’m glad the classic intro is back
Couldn’t sleep so I’m really grateful for this early morning upload
I definitely recommend necromunda, and it’s so unique!
I’m all for expanding Tyranids! Let’s get some zombie alien bugs.
I wonder if they've been saving the Space Marine Killteam box set for the release of Horus Heresy.. it would be pretty boring for non space marine players to have two Space Marine groups in one box but I would lose my mind with happiness
Just refresh them, and make them primaris size. A lot of us use primaris models for our tactical marines and so on.
Make a video of the throne room man ! It will do great !!
Dammmmm you inspired me ... I'm taking different gangs from necromunda and GSC bash em up for my wyrmblade kill team ... Ganger bodies Gene stealer heads and weapons dammmmm I'm hitting the notebook now to write it up thank you !!! .... Your vids are great by the way
I just watched you for the first time and you really look super happy doing this. I love your Energy bro! You make me wanna be friends with you
Tuscan Raiders! Hide the truffled white balsamic vinegar!
I love this it keeps me up to date with the war hammer community
One of the main creators of gorkamorka said initially the idea was to have mad max style game on necromunda. The interview is on midwinter minks channel as a retro gorkamorma unboxing.
Ash Wastes Nomads would make for great Savlar Chem-Dogs army, they even got Chem-Riders!
I can't believe you named all those star wars characters and forgot about Glup Shitto! He's like the most iconic star wars character ever.
Nice to meet you Thurs at Adepticon. I was the guy pushing my brother in the wheelchair.
Some cool ideas here. I know nothing is confirmed but it looks from the photos like the Horus Heresy marines are going to be more true scale than the old first born marines. As you point out, keeping true scale first born marines in a separate gaming system is probably the best way to appease everyone. And to be fair I don’t even think you need to make new models for Mk7 armour - just trim the ridges off the knee pads on Primaris models and give them a 1st born helmet and they look basically the same as Mk7 marines anyway.
Holy fuck guys, you are posting video after video! Nice work, subscribed because of amounts of quality content you guys are giving away!
Imo the best way to phase out since the story is pushing forward is through attrition. Retire Scouts, Tac Marines (not vets untill later). Move to specialists like Devistators and Assault Marines. Then Elites like Vanguard and Sternguard. It's like as time goes on the Firstborn that are still around are slain or survive long enough to progress. It also helps alleviate the pain of going from Firstborn to Primaris for someone like me with around 10k of Dark Angels I've been on and off collecting for 20 years lol.
I think what will probably happen is if you want to play First Born Space Marines you'll play Horus Heresy, but if you don't care or like Primaris you'll stick with 40k, basically cutting the SM player base between two different games.
Cheeky little starships trooper box in back
"Undead Tyranids" So Necromorphs from Dead Space. Tyranids (Necromorphs), Gene Stealer Cults (Unitologists). Dead Space themed army I've been imagining for ages.
Necromunda has genestealers, orks, and other non native enemies. It's just so terrible and violent there that the Nobles, Imperial Fists, and Gangs keep them in check
Its funny hearing you talk about wanting new tactical marines and genestealer/ tyranid sets. I'm just getting back into wh40k. But when I first played the starter set was Battle for Macragge, which was basically just a tactical squad vs some genestealers and a few other tyranid units. It would be interesting to see a re-release/update of that exact set.
Yes! And true scale Terminators!
Never been this early for anything in my life
Same
Except for the egg
I keep dreaminng of another rogue trader or inquisitional retinue kill team
Those ash world minis are gonna make some decent DG cultists...
I am so new to 40k primaris were already pretty large in number. I don’t mind sticking there but I do really like the terminators so unless they keep them or make a primaris size terminator option, I don’t want to lose the firstborn. Yes it’s all pretty much for the termies that I want the old ones to hang around.
Great models for chaos cultist as well.
A Necron Cynoptek drone team of robo bugs and such that take over bodies and such could be such an enemy without being too Flood-like.
All I see when looking at those new nomad models is the perfect recreation of the dopesmoker album art from sleep and I need them in my life
The one thing that makes the old tacticals is the full modularity and thus insane kitbash potential. If they make them just like the primaris they should not bother.
I still run Vanguard Veterans with Shields and Jump Packs in my Black Templar army. Super fast, durable, dish out some damage and go beautifully with the Primaris Chaplain on Bike
They have a unique marine killteam, it's the Deathwatch veteran killteam
I broke all my old marines down used the parts to make them primarus turned out awesome
Tyranid Brain leechs is the thing that makes zombies.
Just let the community keep making true scale astartes. So much better than anything my homie gw could do
Genestealer Cults need good ol RT Cult Limousine.
I love the tactical Marines but it would suck if they where just decorated interssecors, but it would be cooler if they where just a smidge short than interssecors yet taller that our current tactical Marines.
Literally the new plastic hh models
Man watching this video after seeing the Adepticon reveals really hits different
It might be a nostalgic thing, but I prefer the scale and bulkiness of the first born marines.
Just wanted to put my input on a special space marine kill team. A crusader kill team, sort of have a set up similar to the boys compendium kill team with how you can supplement 1 boy for 2 Gretchen. Then you can add special operatives like a Grenadier, or a mini emperors champion
Primaris look cool, I do collect and like them. I also love me some firstborn and they should not rotate out though. They should be remade with HH 2.0 to fit in scale- and proportion-wise with primaris. Don't take them away from people who love them.
Kudos for rating episode I and III, would be above 7-9 for me, since I was what I grew up with and III is just epic.
Those new ash wasteland kits would be nice to add to GorkaMorka,booster-rivals for the digganobz..
Your tyranid talk gave me an idea, what about a way to play kill team where it's a kill team vs a big bad. So like marines vs a GSC patriarch like in the blood angels animation
At this point, I'm just gonna convert all my marines for Horus Heresy
Not sure if others do this, recently I’ve built a box of Tactical squad and Veteran Deathwatch squad with the legs of Infiltrators. Just need to trim of the body parts off the infiltrator’s legs. But it works well and the proportion is better. So I wish GW sold upgrade leg kits for older models.
Vindicators are amazing, I love primaris but I'd love to see some love for the firstborn. The terminator chaplain the released a little while ago is AMAZING
Personally, I’m hoping for a new Space Hulk box with Primaris terminators vs new genestealers.
Also predict Space marines kill team box will be Primaris scouts.
zombie nids? look at star wars where the geonosians queens have larve that can ocupy a person and take control of them even if the person is dead (they effectively can reanimate geonosians
You reminded me that I also have that podracer model. It's been in my closet for about 20 years because it was really intimidating when I was a kid. I think you should do a video of Jabba's Palace, if only to razz on it.
Marines aside, please paint your Jabbas palace model kit on live stream. But the catch is you cannot talk about StarWars..
You know whats missing in Killteam 21? Terminators ... so Terminators vs Genestealers and BAM ... Killteam : Spacehulk
That looks just like a store near me on Long Island
I play necromunda and it is awesome!!!
If you at all like narratives Jay, you have to get into Necromunda.
Put so much effort into it that people would swear it was assembled by someone who was at skill level 2.5!
Jay really throwing out the based Star Wars takes here
One idea is to do a Kill Team Version of Space Hulk with Blood Angel Terminators and Gene Stealers.
Nooo, don't phase out the original marines! Until they upgrade intercessors to have various weapon options like the tacticals, we need tacticals for their versatile weapon loadouts.
Thing is, can't one use the upcoming new plastic Horus Heresy stuff as new beaky tacticals?
Presumably you can use beakies as tacticals.
From what I understand the Primaris Marines fight like the Marines of 30k single squads of a single weapon type.
They bring forward tactical flexibility by having a separate squad with the appropriate mono loadout.
I don't like it myself; I like how flexible the firstborn are.
@@zackcook5123 in reality, expect by devastators and sternguard gun marines were not that flexible.
But there is hope I guess the heavy intercessors do have a heavy gunner mixed in the squad. At least in kill team.
I don't know when do you make the videos, but it's hard to watch all that theorising about the SW vibe which, granted, is felt quite heavily, especially on the Ash Wastes Nomads' side, but this is known for nearly 2 days at a time of publication, or a day and a half if you're on the other side of the world, so listening to Jay talking about being curious what will rest of them will look (when we already know) and talking about kitbashing "older marks of armours" when we have announcements of new range of "beakies" coming along with a lot of (potential) FW stuff coming into plastic, with a new HH range and everything; and a death of Firstborn range where they might have the renaissance due to, again, HH, just falls short the regular videos I enjoy to watch. And granted I'll check out next episode, next week, but I'm not too happy with this particular one. Oh well, c'est la vie
Veteran squad with a bunch of different armor/head options sounds pretty intriguing. Wonder if Deathwatch will get the first KT marine Box.
I'm pretty sure the recent announced mk6 marines might end as a kill team on white dwarf. But of they don't I don't mind my kill team is already true scale old school tactical marines
Space Marine models to me always seemed weird. These guys would have thiiiick thighs (love some thick thighs) but for some reason they flare out the calf armor instead like they have bellbottoms on.
I read that the flared greaves on marines originally came about because of design limitations (at the time) associated with the multi-part plastic RTB-01 kit. Mass production, quick turnaround, ease of mold release etc.
@@fransaacs cheers Fran!
The tyranid zombie idea is interesting. I dont think it fits their cannon though. The genestealer cult is effectively said zombies.
I'd like to see Harlequin Mimes KT
I would love to see some very specific space marine units for the added flavor, stuff like a Death Company assault marines (with a chaplain pleaaaase) or Deathwing terminators in a KT boxset.
Since we're wish listing, I want my Savlar Chem-Dogs for Kill Team. They'd be absolutely fantastic for a team.
I never thought about new tactical marines, when I thought about space marines for kill team, I thought they would do primaris scout or an upgrade sprue to make proper veteran intercesors, ones that look like sturnguard and vanguard veterans.
The single sprue Space Marines Heroes or (rumored re-scaled) MKVI for the new Heresy release might get repurposed Kill Team. I could imagine both supplied with upgrade options just like the CSM in Nachmund.
You should 3d print a great gargant for your ork army eons of battle
I think they should lean into the tactical squad, either give it a ton of cool weapons or something like that, otherwise they can just buff some classic SM units and that should work with plastic refreshes over time
Oh wow we said the same thing basically LOL
I think they should make two Codexes. One for Firstborn and one for Primaris. And if you want a primaris sized Tactical Squad just stick the old heads and weapons on intercessors and use them. They all have two wounds now... sooooo just do it ^^
You could use the modern parts from anvil industry and just put on a geansteller head
Let's go full halo mode. Have hordes against a highly adaptable, versatile super soldier!! Like kill team where it's like 20 to 1
they'll have to pry my mark 4 marines from my cold dead hands
Love your videos, but how dare you have the Sequals touch Empire strikes back in you list?
search your feelings you know it to be true
I won't lie I was expecting "you know who would be great at fighting disgusting zombies? THAT'S RIGHT, OUR PATREON"
Hey Jay! I totally thought Tusken Raider when I first saw those new models as well. I agree with your thoughts on Gene Stealer Cults. I can imagine a unit of Catachans with that 3rd arm! I have been thinking about Chaos Cultists in the same way. I wasn't looking to play Killteam but if GW comes out with that Tactical/Zombie box I'm in for sure!! You HAVE to share Jabba's Palace when it's done!
