I think its because I'm a Yankee fan so I don't like the Rays at all, but I still love Glasnow. Mixed feelings like when Rose watches him play Cleveland.
The argument that you’re penalizing Ohtani for not playing the field but he pitches: yeah, no shit, that’s why he gets credit for pitching, you don’t double count it because he’s not playing the field. It’s a void argument because you are giving him the credit for something you are acting like you penalized him for. It’s a lot like the argument in fantasy sports of you don’t like player x because he’s old; but his age is priced in, if he was young he’d be the first pick type of thing.
What if we gave the CY Young to Shohei, hes probably gonna finish 3rd anyway, same stats as burnes who won in the NL as u said. If we added Shohei's batting war from games he also pitched, couldn't he have the most war for pitchers that way? That is the move IMO
This show has ruined post game interviews for me. I can no longer accept the answers ball players and managers give in them. Don’t get me wrong, I know they need to tip toe and not blame anyone in their answers but don’t you think they can be a little more open and honest? It feels like half of answers are just nonsense veiled in baseball buzzwords. And the other are just coached answers. One on one interviews with someone personable like c rosey just get the ball players to open up.

Shohei deserves to be penalized as a DH. He clogs up the DH spot every single day. That impacts the lineup. Trout can never have a DH off day. Rendon could never have a DH off day. It's possible their injury issues over the last few years could be influenced by that (definitely not solely due to it, but Trout probably could've used more days in the DH spot both while recovering and for prevention). Shohei is a DH only. He doesn't get penalized in any way with the WAR he accrues as a pitcher. But he deserves to get the penalty for his hitting since he is a DH only.
