As someone who watches "shitlord" type characters, who do nothing but take Ls for entertainment, the whole concept of getting on the whitelist server just to grind, do minimal RP and constantly chase W-s is so alien.
I'm glad the NP staff recognizes Dog Town, which fills the gaping hole that the prison used to be with pure roleplay.
But I do wish they - the devs - didn't simultaneously encourage grinding elsewhere and make existing mechanics more tedious.
Most mechanics being introduced in 4.0 stand in the way of RP instead of encouraging it. One recent example is adding farming which only makes the restaurant business more tedious and is another way to grind.
I feel like whoever's in charge has their priorities mixed up.
The obsession with money is about how much time is spent grinding to get the money, so many IRL hours are spent on it which does give it IRL value in a way and it makes people less willing to take risks in-character. The grinder mentality is hurting the server a lot.
I find it interesting that they agree that streamers/players who know how to take losses are great for the server but at the same time think the debtors prison is a good for them as well. The debtors prison literally cripples their roleplay. The debtors prison might be fun for the first few days but given how much debt someone has, it will get stale quick. Kinda wish they had some of the affected streamers on this podcast to talk about that. Maybe on the next one~
did you watch the whole thing? coz they can take out like 40k in 1 hr while doing RP not including if they RP with the wardens they can take 5k every 15mins to the prisoner debt and theres like 5 of wardens that are on duty everyday, if people can grind for money they can grind for RP to pay their debt
@@skympii6734 people like chatterbox and space boy don’t grind. They rp and they do it well because they don’t depend on money. If you wanna watch people who grind all day, then that’s cool, I ain’t judging but you completely missed my point. Anyways, their debt was resolved already so you’re kinda late.

I totally get what they are trying to do with the debtors prison and it's not a bad idea. However, Blau asked a great question that didn't really get answered (that I noticed).
It's fine in NA when the DoC staff are around but for those that play in the other 18 or so hours of the day it's utter crap. Someone like Abdul will just be in there for ever without staff in the other time zones to lower their debt and time etc
They'll hire more staff in roleplay
IMO it should be an optional thing if its included. You shouldnt be forced todo it but it could be a good way to encourage reducing debt, that or just put a cap on how much it can increase your sentence by.
esfand has some of the most out of touch takes on crim RP.
The only type of crim he has ever played is an sbs, go to jail ,and jump back on cop type of crim.

Hey Blau, I've got an idea for your next podcast guest. You should get Peepo and others that came from RDR2 WildRP to experience Nopixel 4.0. Peepo is a great RPer and has gotten alot of peoples attention recently

For the two chains of commands and departments. What if there is different radio channels, stations, call responsibilities, and everything? If the two departments do any calls together it has to be through higher ups sending people over to the other calls. Have the city cops do more robbery response and in city traffic stops. County do more investigive and traffic stops and calls outside the city limits. Basically a fast pace city department and a slow burn department and silly cop type stuff. The main separation is different call responsibilities for deputies and cadets. It could also be for a situation one department handles it and the other department does the perimeter and scene control.

Please have non DoC characters on who have different takes on the prioritization of prison rp, and the effects of debtor’s prison on rp for characters like James Randal, Chatterbox, and non-grinding characters. There are lots of opinions about this issue, but let’s hear directly from these rp’ers, please. Not everyone *wants* to be forced into Dogtown for prison rp. It does feel like forced rp.
These guys are showing how intuitively bad they are at math, even at 40k an hour, that is 25 hours to clear 1 mil. I'll accept Esfand's laisse faire attitude toward this when he roleplays 25 hours straight as a prisoner and still thinks its good and fun, the dude is on crazy pills.

Chatterbox is 1.55 million dollars in debt or more.
@@mackenzieburton4476 Nah it was 1.2 million, but it ended up getting cut down drastically.
Dave played 5 days as a prisoner with Bobby Charles and that was before there were guards and other inmates to keep him company. I trust him to not make other people suffer through that.
Chatterbox was 1.2 mil in debt and 900k of that was wiped by the city council.

It felt like only half the story got out. Debtors prison was the highlight, and no one was explaining to the players or audience the money/minute side of things. Also I won't name drop because I like the streamers who are guilty but people were calling others idiots when those people didn't have an avenue to research the topic for themselves. I think that since it's been properly explained the community agrees it's a good idea but higher ups were in the wrong by not explaining the situation. It caused an uproar in the community and stress on the players. W idea L execution
coz they have no crim exp look at the board itself 3 doc , 2 cop , and 1 civ discussing how this prison update is so good for crims while none of the play crims

Playing Public for 3-4 years and paying for prio! The prison idea is awesome but i just got Allowlist 3 days ago and now i can’t be a lifer! The frustration is real
I have a comment that i would like to see addressed with the pd. (I know, not this podcast). I noticed in 4.0 it is common practice for a solo cop to barge into a 6v6 shoot and break it up with no fear. This is so immersion breaking. At least in 3.0 cops would set up a block or 2 away and roll in in force.

esfend doesn't understand that for cops, money is nothing because you don't really have to buy anything that cost crazy amount of money for cop RP. The most money they will spend is on a personal cop car. And that's not even that expensive. the value of money is way way way higher on crims. The higher the value of money on crims, the more they hold on to the W because they have way more to lose. They HAVE to get away because they would lose so much money.
