In this video I'll share some information about dyslexia, phonics versus phonemic awareness, and what and what reading programs are designed to retrain the dyslexic brain. I'll also share flashcards, apps, and more to help with reading remediation and accommodation.

Wow, this is the most helpful video I've seen. Thank you for sharing your journey thus far.
oh my goodness, thank you!!!
I agree!
this was so helpful thank you so much! In the process of helping my 8 year old with her reading as we suspect she is dyslexic. This gave me hope. Thank you.
When we watched your video, we cried a little. It was like you were describing our daughter. We immediately got the Equipped for Reading Success and are pouring over it currently. This is the most informative video we have seen on this subject. Please, please, please continue to share your thoughts and resources with others. We were feeling very alone until this, so thank you, thank you!
Equipped for reading is such as valuable resource. Good luck on your journey.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! While it's difficult for me to help my daughter with dyslexia, having someone like you sharing your journey really clam me! Not that you didn't already help us enough but I would love to know if you have any tips on helping dislexic kids with their math, like multiplication as we all know that memorizing is not the strength to kids with dyslexia.
This is extremely helpful. I am new on this path and this video has given me so much to think about. Thank you, Thank you for posting it!
First off, your daughter is one lucky girl! What a blessing she has you to help her through all of this. My daughter is in 3rd grade and I’m just wrapping my mind around how hard all of this is for her. Thank you so much for this video. So helpful.

Thank you for your info, advice, and resources! I have dyslexia and currently teaching my dyslexic son to read. We are making great progress with the Logic of English, but always looks for other resources to help him succeed.
I love your information and energy - as a mom to a dyslexic I felt like I was failing her, and her needs.
This video is absolutely amazing! I wish I had known about these tools sooner but thank you thank you & thank you! I ordered some of the resources that you mentioned! You're honesty and compassion shines through in this video! I will be sharing this with others!
Amazing and honest! Wow - you really summed up EXACTLY how I feel about teaching my dyslexic granddaughter! You’ve provided SO much realistic information that I can check into to help us (both of us!) along our journey! I wish I had found you first - before trying to sift through the mountains of information and programs available!
WOW! Is right!! TY so much! for sharing all of this! One of the BEST vids on this subject! Extremely informative! Cannot TY enough!
Soo informational. Looking into curriculum for my struggling readers and Dyslexic students. Thank you
Thank you! I am subscribing!
Really helpful video thank you!❤
Literally the most helpful video I've watched on dyslexia.
So informative and helpful. Thank you!
I just wanted to come on here and thank you so much for ur review on the abecedarian company. My struggling 2nd grader had tried numerous programs to help her read and it just wasn’t clicking. We started her on level b abecedarian and I’m not kidding, within 2 weeks of using the program she was starting to read books… where before she could barely finish a level k book. We are toward the end of 2nd grade and I am so happy to have found this curriculum. It gave her quick success and gave her the confidence to continue to try reading
So helpful
Learning Ally helps my dyslexic daughters to keep up with grade level vocabulary and comprehension.
Thank you so much for all the information.
Thank you for the video! With the two curriculum that you mentioned, do they have levels for teenagers with dyslexia that are still behind a few years in their reading ability? - Shell
Hi. Thank you for the video. I have an 8 yr old struggling reader. He will be in 3rd grade in the Fall. The ABcCeDarian Program looks great. Would you recommend the set of storybooks for that age or are they too simplistic?
The information in this video is amazing. Do you think is will be a great project for adults that has problems with Reading comprehension and fluency?
V good
do you know a self taught programs for adults
So would you prefer ABC reading over Barton? I’ve heard Barton is slow and boring but works. I know you did Barton but if you could go back would you just start with ABC only or did Barton help to start with?
I would like to know the same thing.
Same question here
Side note: it helps to engage the listener if you look at the camera and not the screen of yourself. Just a thought 🤔
I used to think that Barton had monopolized the information for “retraining the mind” for dyslexics but it’s not true, I’m doing it for my child and it’s just awesome when you can’t afford the thousands for this program.
Would you mind sharing what you ended up using instead of spending the thousands?
How old was your daughter when you started with ABC Darrian?
