    You provided an excellent review/tour of the Sunray 109 camper. Can’t think of anything that Sunray could do to improve it. I hope they keep the sink beside the wall in the galley.
    I bought this camper so I could be in the right place to do early morning and late evening photography. The amenities this camper has enabled me make meals with ease and has all I need to review and edit photos I take. I camp where there is electricity and showers. My daughter and her friend take it out for hiking on a weekend - they pull the bed half way and essentially make bunk beds - cushion on the bed and cushions on the floor- Velcro together whoever has the split cushions as they will separate. I’ve added a quick pop up Clam dining tent with rain shields and an outdoor rug to cover the bottom of the tent. I’ve also added a collapsible porta-potty that has bags and pucks that solidifies waste, a collapsible 12”
    x 16”table that folds into a suitcase and storage cubes that stack with ‘windows’ in the front. A couple of mesh baskets that are hung with command strips- come down when travelling. I have no problem towing this camper with my 4 cylinder VW Tiguan.

    Hey! Wife and I just got a 109 sport ourselves, just curious why not put the upgraded shower head on the existing shower hose?

    • @TheWayfinder
      @TheWayfinder  Před 3 lety +1

      Welcome to the tiny camper family! We felt like we had better control of the water temperature from the sink. So we set the water temp first then switch the diverter to the showerhead and hop in our pop up shower tent. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for taking the time to make this video its been very helpful, I see a lot of sunray 109s with the big tires and I'm not needing all that as I'm using my 66 impala to tow it with. Yours seems to be a little lower to the ground and smaller wheels, am I seeing that correctly? Also, is there a step to get in to the trailer or is it low enough to climb right in? Thank you for pulling the goucho bed out too I really wanted to see how easy it was to set up. What's your opinion/ experience getting in and out of the sleeping area? I'm 220lbs how well do you think the plywood is on the bed for supporting 2 people? Thanks again for the opportunity to ask questions and get your feedback. Happy camping 🏕

    • @TheWayfinder
      @TheWayfinder  Před 2 lety +1

      You are correct, our 109 does not include the off-road package so it does have the smaller tires ST205/75R 14 to be exact. There is no step to get in, it is manageable but can be awkward so we bought a plastic folding step that stows away easily and is the perfect little step to help get in. Ben and I both sleep in the bed together, and neither of us are small people weight wise. Ben is 5'9 and I'm 5'4 so keep that in mind too. Typically if the person sleeping by the window needs to get out, we both have to get out as it's easier than climbing over. We haven't had any problems with the supporting plywood but it looks really easy to replace if needed. Hope this helps and thanks for watching! - Lindsey

      @@TheWayfinder isn't it more fun climbing over lol?
      Thanks for replying, I really like the layout of the 109,I started looking at a Jayco hummingbird, it had doors in both sides but the draw back is no heat or hot water and no outdoor shower. I'm convinced the 109 is perfect for 2 people. Looking on the internet I see the classic like yours is considerably less than the off road upgrade by maybe 3-5 thousand. We'll see how it goes as getting time off to go look is scarce and the only place that has the 109 is 85 miles away. What is your favorite thing about your 109??? Just curious. Thanks again. 😊

    • @TheWayfinder
      @TheWayfinder  Před 2 lety +1

      🤭lol!! Maybe on day 1 of camping it's "fun" but by day 5 👎🏻. I asked Ben what his favorite thing is and hands down he said towability. We were able to go through canyons in Sedona, in tight gas stations, and up steep/rocky roads to our boondocking spot in Grand Teton. My favorite thing is that it forces us to pack small. So often we try to pack for all the what ifs but you can't really do that with the 109. We pack our needed items and then figure it out from there and it's turned into a lot of fun so far!

      @@TheWayfinder I think I might have to rethink my "purpose" for buying a cake like this. I've been thinking about going to KOA campgrounds (just discovered them for the first time this past summer on the "Hotrod Powertour" but from what it sounds like your saying maybe the road less traveled and "off the grid"even is more what the 109 is for but we live on the east coast. Maybe state parks. Another thing, no truck or suv.... only time will tell I guess where we go and where we stay and most importantly where we end up- Joe

    • @TheWayfinder
      @TheWayfinder  Před 2 lety +2

      We are east coasters too, North Florida actually. We definitely don't have the same amount of boondocking spots as the west with all of their BLM land but the 109 is still great at the state parks! We do one big trip a year out west, so most of our time is spent in N. Florida S. Georgia state parks. Best of luck!

    I’m interested in this model too, so I’m watching and gathering info. In general, are you happy with your trailer? Have you had issues with anything? It’s super cute! Thank you. I appreciate your thoughts.

      @TheWayfinder  Před 3 lety +2

      We are very happy with our Sunday 109! No issues so far and we feel like we've given it a good run for our money with a 6k mile trip right off the bat. There are Facebook groups with great info for those looking into Sunray Trailers, make sure to check those out as well! Thanks for watching!

      @@TheWayfinder I’ve been reading some not so lovely reviews for it. I never take one word of another solely because of their experience… so I’m asking people like you for yours. I completely understand that things can and will go wonky. And I feel for them with their issues. Balance is better than a one sided thought. So thank you! I’m going to my local dealer this week to talk about it. Thank you again. 👍🏼

    How did u install the back splash ?

    • @TheWayfinder
      @TheWayfinder  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi there! Our backsplash is peel and stick sheets of faux tile. You can find the exact product we used here: amzn.to/3ov9nYs It' square sheets that you line up and stick to the wood. It's worked great so far and we've had no issues with adhesion even with our camper being in Florida heat.

    • @TheWayfinder
      @TheWayfinder  Před 3 lety

      Hi there! The Wayfinder is too tall for our garage by about 5-7 inches. That's definitely a perk to a pop up though! We decided instead to store it in the backyard just behind the fence, seems to keep the HOA happy. Thanks for watching!

    Not horrible, but if the manufacturer is watching....how about a second version of that galley: lose the fridge and the burners and extend the counter all the way across. Reduce the size of that microwave (if you HAVE to have it at all), and put a slide under the cabinet for either a low profile fridge or cooler, and a cubby where one could store her own choice of camp grills like a Eureka or Coleman. You could always sit the grill on the extended counter if necessary, or just set up a mini Keurig for hot coffee.

    • @TheWayfinder
      @TheWayfinder  Před 2 lety +1

      Great suggestions! We've seen several people remove the microwave as soon as they get their rig, but I find it convenient to make things for the kids 🤷🏼‍♀️. I've also seen them remove the fridge and make some pretty cool modifications! Thanks for watching!
