Is there an issue with the actual monster tiles (bad quality?), or is it just that the specific rules for all the monsters are across three different cards? Titling this point Monster tiles and then speaking to the cards had me a bit confused. I agree one bigger card with all the rules would be more helpful.
Apologies for lack of clarity! The tiles themselves are fine. The issue with the monsters is that they all have different rules which are spread over multiple player aids. If you play with one expansion, that's two player aids right there, then it multiplies from there. In actual play experience, because I don't play this game all of the time, I find myself consistently referencing the player aids on every single enemy turn because they all have different things they do when they activate. Hope that helps.
Just got this. So you mix all of the monster tokens together? Base game has 49 and you play until you're out of tokens. So does that mean you need to count out a random number of 49 of ALL of the mixed in tokens if you just want to play the base game w/o any expansions? Or do you need to keep the base game tokens separate... which the box organization doesn't allow for.
You would need to reconstruct the token pile, depending on what expansions you want to play. I think there's a chart guide in the rulebook. Yeah, it's annoying. Managing the monsters was the biggest con for me here, which I noted in the review.
I like the big well for cards...allows for sleeves. I wish that more inserts accommodated sleeved cards.
Even with sleeves, it feels like a bit too much space.

Looks like fun and I like the art. Will have to add it to my list. I'd love something similar on a smaller/simpler scale
