Congratulations on your anniversary and your infectious enthusiasm. I read rulebooks, but often find I can learn the rules and flow of a game better

I like the art. That looks like a dauntingly large game that I would never find time to play, but I'm sure I will see you do it and get to experience it in at least some capacity!

If your interested in how the game plays I did a playthrough and so did one stop coop shop and rob’s table top world. I’m really excited for this game and so far it has not disappointed me. It is an epic story driven campaign with tactical dungeon crawler play mechanics with ability and item upgrade which improves the dice you will use during you skill checks and attacks. Hope that helps please ask me any questions and I will do my best to answer.

Thanks for the video, you made me comfortable with my pledging this project. I also love my reMarkable, but the idea of having one that's pocket sized, with Kindle App access, is a solid win for me. Wonder if there's a sync'ing scenario where I could sync them together? Will be fun to explore.

I have a new baby boy born on the 4th of July, so money is a bit tight at the moment.
But I did come across a few extra dollars for a board game.
I’m a solo player who loves immersive games. So I’m looking at Middara (upon your recommendation), Mage Knight, Solomon Kane, or maybe KDM.
I’ve got a bit to splurge on, so I’m thinking about going a bit larger this time around.
What would you recommend?
Congrats on your now baby!!! Hope the family is well!!! As for your question. Those are all good games of all of them I enjoyed Middara and KDM the most. If you don’t mind assembling minis and adult content KDM has a lot of replay value if you don’t mind fighting the same monster, and enjoy watching a settlement grow. Also the narrative unfolds around you as you move though the game. Middara has an epic story that lives though your characters. Also it has a ton of customization for your characters. Mage knight is a classic and is a very puzzle oriented adventure not as much chance as the other 2. As for Solomon Kane. That is my least fun of the 4 you mentioned. I don’t have any knowledge of the books to see them come alive in the game. All maritime moments not much else in that game. I still have to but I feel the other 3 are way better. Personally I would play middara and KDM more than the other 2 but that’s me. If you can get your self a copy I am really enjoying Oathsworn there is a second printing coming but not for a while. @@RaymondMillbrae smallest footprint.? none of them LOL!!. They are all big foot prints. my 3' by 5' table is mostly used up by these games. I dont think there is one that takes up less space. KDM and Oathsworn have a set board size, Middara can be smaller or bigger depending on the mission. I know that doesn't help too much sorry.
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Drats! I have a fairly large 3’x4’ coffee table in my office. (It’s actually a game coffee table I designed and built…with a game vault in the middle).
Gonna look around for photos of the three individual games laid out for solo play.
I know that the more characters each game uses when played solo (player boards, etc), the larger the footprint.
So let me look around.

Great question the answer is yes to all. My plan is to sow off the adventure mode as it was meant to be played 4 player and then later as a 2 play variant. I would also like to show off the crawl mode as well at some time. So you will hopefully see a good amount of Middara. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned.

It is 20” x 13.5” x 4.5” hope that helps find a spot for it on the shelf 😃😃
That is a pretty big shipping box. I wonder if the boxes with art books and play mats will be bigger or if they will ship separately.
Well.... I should have made myself more clear. Those dimensions are not the shipping box those are the dimensions of the core Middara box. I can only imagine what the the complete Kickstarter shipping box will look like. 😃
the tiles are nice but they are extremely boring that it's just squares of exactly the same number of spaces. it doesn't feel like a dungeon crawl at all. Not sure how i feel about that. I'm also not a fan of the ridiculous number of cards. After Gloomhaven, not sure i'm big on there being 2000 + cards or whatever.
I can understand where your coming from. The tiles are all squares that is true, but I like the are on them. They did that way since there are so many encounters they can connect them to make all sorts of size maps. You are correct they will all be squares i'm not to worried. Once I get into it I shall see if that bothers me. It will be interesting to see how many of those cards are going to be used in the game. I like there are many options to customize your characters and will be interesting to see what the community comes up with. Thanks for your opinion. We shall see how this all plays out. Minis look awesome.
Don't like the map because it looks like a hack of the Witcher the board game map. Don't like the art direction because its too Anime looking. Don't like the fact that there's no insert, just an empty box.
I like your honesty about what you think of this unboxing. I hope you stick around for the gameplay. Everyone deserves their own opinion, but I do like the art the large map is a reference point more then anything else. The minis are sweet. Though you have a point about not having an insert, but there is a remedy for that. I have a plan 😃. Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion. It is good there are tons of games to choose from so everyone will be able to find something they like.
