      Absolutely! They need to be held to transparency, especially how shady and secretive this case has been from the beginning. There is going to be so much speculation out there if people can’t see what’s going on first hand. What are they trying to cover up by keeping cameras out? That’s what everyone is going to be thinking.

    • @deborahbeltz718

      @stephm4349 I don't believe they care what the majority thinks. Like the judge said , it Is his job to do what he thinks is the best for the families and witnesses, and hevis right,not our call.

    Hopefully the judge follows the law and not his personal subjective opinions. He has valid points but there is absolutely no way taking cameras OUT of the courtroom will improve the news anchor talking points…🙄🙄 This is a huge case and the public has a right to see justice served-whether it be guilty or not guilty.

    • @stephm4349
      @stephm4349 Před 9 měsíci

      Exactly. If there are no cameras, there is going to be even more speculation and rumor. The public needs to see the facts and not hear second hand interpretations. No cameras will just equal more speculation and rumors. Very bad idea - no one will trust the verdict, whatever it is if they haven’t witnessed the facts themselves.

    The court house doesn't belong to a judge, it belongs to the people, it is paid for by the people, and so is a judge. He is a public servant, and as Constitutional law holds primacy over statute laws, codes, or policies, the public have a right to know exactly what is being said, and what decisions are being made by judges in those courtrooms. Has all the evidence been looked at? Has any evidence been omitted, or disallowed, and if so, why? We all have a right to get "full transparency" from our public officials.

    • @bquietsouhear
      @bquietsouhear Před 9 měsíci

      😂😂😂😂
      Shame on your self serving, willfull ignorance!
      Your rights are not violated. So just stop! Are you the defendant? Are you the victim?
      Are you the plaintiff, a.k.a., the state of Idaho? Do you pay taxes to the state of Idaho, as a resident of Idaho, within its' borders, therefore, within its' juristriction?
      You have your own state that your tax dollars are paid to. Every court case in your state lists your state as the plaintiff: meaning you & all residents of your state & that is when you have a right & entitlement to every court case in your state, if you, so desire it!
      Residents can demand video and audio through their voting powers & incentives offered to their elected officials! F.O.I.A. gives you access to your states' cases as well as other states, after the verdict!
      This judge has no obligation to any other states' residents or state laws other than his own!
      If he makes audio or video available to the public, nationwide, it is a favor or courtesy! It is not your right! Your right ends where Idaho borders begin because you are not a party, entity or participant in this case!
      This judge has real rights to protect & lawful procedures that he must enact, meet & successfully complete.
      Worrying about every joeshi+smuck, (nationwide & worrldwide), selfishly demanding to be digitally present in his courtroom, & lying and saying that he is violating their rights, when he isn't, they're just to selfish to get out of their feelings to know that they are unlawfully claiming privelages that do not belong to them.
      Your feelings don't matter to truth and true laws! Stop falsely accusing & ignorantly demanding.
      This judge is charged to protect this case and the people that are named in it!
      Your name isn't there so he owes you nothing!😂

      I have served in many court rooms. The Judge is the only ruling force in there. One Judge ordered no gum chewing. He can exclude people from "his court". I love Court TV. My arteries are clogging from sitting and watching trials. I, however, do not think it will be mentally beneficial for the family to witness the dirty little details that brought this murdering maniac to trial. Its horror that their child was killed, but they don't need the testimony of how he stuck the knife in and turned it. They'll replay the testimony in their minds for eternity. Anyone will have access to the printed trial transcript and that would be gruesome enough to digest. Mental health for the family to move on in life is important. But, as a parent, I would savor the option to be near the killer in hopes I could get an option to snap his neck. I vote cameras and pray for the families. I also fear this unstable genius will walk free again. I want to see how his lawyers win over the jury.

    Has this been argued in the US Supreme Court? If not, it needs to be. The public has an absolute right to access to courtrooms. We deserve full access. It’s not “novelty”, as was stated, it’s our right to ensure that our laws are enforced and justice is done. I’m tired of this argument for ever single high profile case. Times have changed, our judiciary needs to accept that reality.

      You also have to factor in the rights of the defendant, which is the issue in most cases. As they don't want a biased jury and already Kohberger is convicted in the court of public opinion. I agree with wanting cameras, I want to see it, but for true justice the defendant need a fair trial. If it turns out he is convicted but appeals for unfair trial, where's the justice in an overturned verdict? Conversely if he is actually innocent, but the jury convicts based on what they've heard in the media or evidence they've seen in pre-trial and convicts him asked on being biased "because he's creepy, or of he guilty the media said so" it's still not justice If an innocent man is wrongfully convicted.

No cameras will just equal more negative results - speculation and rumors. Very bad idea - no one will trust the verdict, whatever it is, if they haven’t witnessed the facts themselves. There should be absolutely transparency. The families want cameras in the courtroom because they want the truth and the transparency. The families’ feelings should absolutely be respected. It doesn’t makes any sense how anyone could possibly think more negativity would come out by having cameras when the cameras will show the truth and clear transparency. Keeping cameras out makes it look like things are being hidden and gives so much room and ammunition for rumors and negative speculation towards all involved, especially the prosecution and the State. Shame on the judge for even considering banning cameras. It’s only going to hurt the case in the long-run.

    So many people screaming for cameras that just don't understand. Here are some reasons why cameras aren't allowed in the courtroom: They pollute your jury pool, motivate media to prioritize ad revenue over information, can invade the privacy of victims and their families, and above all sensationalize the murderer and give them the publicity they often crave. The public has access to all unsealed info on any given case before, during, and after a case. You just need to request the information from wherever the case is being held. Most people that scream about cameras in the courtroom don't want transparency (they already have it, they just don't know this fact or are too lazy to understand it), they want drama. They just want to hold up "right to know" as a shield to cover their morbid desire to be closer to these criminals.

    Not everybody has the luxury of being in the court room! I could tell by the tone of his voice in the beginning he was against it. The cameras need to be allowed! Quit thinking of yourself Judge and think of the victims and their families.

      You don't have to have a camera listen to a court trial. They could just have audio broadcasting
