It has less active weight reduction than the 86, which is pretty good so far.
Am I trippin because your comments says 14 hours ago but this video was uploaded 40 minutes ago???
@@veal2169 there patreon they get vids early
@@SETO-HUTO ohhh
@@veal2169 He's most likely from patreon so he got to see sooner
@@sampsii I wonder how it works though?? Did he upload the video early just for patreon people??
Did you wet sand the headlights before polishing them? If not that's why it didn't clear up, get some high grit sandpaper and go over it a few times in different directions, then machine polish
This! Was just gonna comment this
Probably may as well try, ...sometimes the foggy gets on the inside surface of the lens, too, though.
@@OllamhDrab Not sure why I didnt think of that myself till I read your comment. Then remembered when I put new lenses on my E46 the insides were covered in a dark film/dust.
I think it's like 400 --- 600 -- 1000 --- 1200 ----1500 -- 2000 and last 3000 all with soapy water. Atleast that's what I did to mine and they came great. With machine polish it would look even better.
@@MrCool00236 Same thing with my Golf Mk 7, the insides are dusty even after I wash and clean the headlights.
Definitely wet sand, polish and then apply some UV lacquer on those headlights like others have said! Works. Also, so great to see you start this project right when I'm starting to build my SR20 S13 that's been sitting for years!!!
Pretty much this, increasing the grit from fine to superfine then polish and UV clear coat or protectant will bring life and clarity back to the headlights.
@@Kelvin_Foo Thanks, I'm probably going to have to do that on my CKV36 headlights. The UV protectant chipped off the top of them and now they are all faded up there.
+1 !!
i came here teo post this
The lights are most likely hazy on the inside too, you can open headlights with a heatgun pretty easy and can't really heat them too much. The easy way to go is to replace just the lens cover or try and remove the haze inside but most likely it isn't going to come out looking good. I modify headlight beams for eu spec as a hobby so it might be tricky for someone else
Those headlights are totally restorable! I've redone ones that were literally peeling or were completely hazed over and made them look like new. Just wet sand up to a fine grit, polish, then apply clearcoat. Can be done in an afternoon.
100% THIS
YESS I'VE REPAIRED HEADLIGHTS LIKE THIS TOO. NORIYARO NEEDS TOO SEE THIS COMMENT
This is.. illegal in germany iirc, funny
@@Lentora Germany is WAY too strict with their automotive laws, I mean even England is better…
I'm really proud of you, this S15 seems like a really decent starting point and something you can street if you don't feel like using the van for anything
It’s still a real shame that the JXZ burned up In flames
@@luighost9917 86?
@@AscottSauce he lost a car in a garage that was set up in flames
@@luighost9917 that wasn’t an 86
Did he also ever say where the 86 is now
You can still fix those headlights if you wet sand them and then respray them with UV protectant clear coat
This this
It’s slow and painful but not as painful as the cost of new ones! Hehe
@@eviethekiwi7178 I got a 3m kit that took maybe an hour to sand down nicely and about an hour to dry. it was only like $15 too
@@eviethekiwi7178 If he can find just the lens covers for a few hundred then it would be better then going though that torture lol
Toothpaste works like a charm
Please more videos with Shino in them! She's been great every time she's on camera. She comes off as a bit crazy and it's fun.
Her laugh is great 😆
Totally agree, I always and up laughing not even realizing haha
The orb was right
Shino cracks me up, every time. Good to see the S15 get a clean; its not bad and whilst it'll need work, its got good bones.
Shino just has that childlike fascination with what she does that everyone should look up to, she's awesome
I really can't believe how the grime just washed off when you hit it with a brush. Can't wait to see where this goes Alexi.
This car appears to have been cared about, perhaps it was waxed and protected before sitting for years
That brush hurts. At least use a proper wash mitt. I can't help but think that brush just installed a whole boatload of swirls and scratches.
✔ Shino cackling at how clean the car got
✔ Detailing ASMR
✔ Alexi wrenching
✔ Proof of life
this has the atmosphere of a beach episode
Her excitement with how easy it was to clean is so relatable and satisfying!
Loving it Alexi! I have my bog-stock S15 here in Aus, so I'm living vicariously through you and your build! :-).
1 day ago the vid was uploaded today
@@SPPSPOTS Welcome to the world of Patreon.
@Mr Calcium add on my LMGT2's, it's beautiful.
Did you buy yours second hand? I'm itching to own a car one day T_T
@@Glassgate yes mate. Around 10 years ago; from a first owner who was late 60's and couldn't get in and out anymore. Paid cash, and paid over market price at the time.
The secret, was loose search terms. It was listed on Gumtree as a "Nissan sports car". Best of luck with your search.
Maybe you can later add cat paw stickers in places where those prints was, to kinda keep history of this car or just for fun
So wholesome the way she gets excited how easily it cleans hahaha
Please get those monitors working again!! I'm looking to have some nice audio/visual equipment in my own car and the fact that your s15 already had some sun visor monitors and a video splitter is super interesting!
Hype for the new keychain. Hope it stays.
I'm surprised it ran as good as it did with a huge leak on the intercooler pipe
seriously wth ? my sr runs worse without a leak 😂
You're talking where the bov should be? It's welded close so it technically doesn't leak
@@stylepoints.180 on my car that hose is routed to under throttle body and not welded shut i believe s14/s15 sr is different in that aspect tho
@@stylepoints.180 thanks for pointing out it was welded...i didn't notice and was going to comment about it haha
That ending with "paint chips" got me lol
*crunch*
Jo Alexi did you try wet sanding the headlights and then polish them, that might work ^^
But Awesome Silvia I Love it
glad to see you keeping your head up after the Mark 2 situation and moving on!
That's insane how clean it became! It just washed off just like a S15 Silvia junkyard rescue
I'm so happy that Patreon is working out for you mate! Good to see the content ramping up once again :)
Loving this content Alexi! It’s every JDM fans dream to save a car in Japan, restore/fix it then go drifting in it 👌🏻👌🏻
PS.
YUMMY PAINT CHIPS!!
Merry christmas everyone
.It looks good alexi! Cant wait for ya to rip in the track
Wow this guy just had a project car go up in flames. I'm truly happy to see such a optimistic come back. Also can wait to see this car drift! 😆
As others have said with headlights, wet sanding with 1200+ grit wet and dry sand paper will remove the foggy film, then orbital polish with a cutting compound to remove the fine sanding marks, i used to do this way back in the day to various JDM cars when manufacturers used to mold the lenses with all the writing imprinted in the outside of the plastic. Using a razorblade style scraper, i would meticulously remove all the stamping then fine sand and then cut and polish, it would take me hours to do but would result in such a clean look. Once all this lockdown business has ended and international travel is once again allowed, my first trip is to Japan, i would gladly come and perform the task for free, without the expectation of return, other than singing some merch and taking a few pics... Hello From nanny state NSW. 😂😂😂
S15 updates are what I'm craving for, super happy you picked one up and can't wait to see what you do with it
Looking good Alexi.
Dude I gotta be honest I like the green in the engine bay. Contrasting colors between the visible body and the engine bay serves to show off the engine parts nicely.
Yaaaasss street car 100% for the odd drift session and driving home such an awesome daily!
When I see Riichan, I am glad. Please more videos with him.
Damn she looks good, can't wait to watch the build! Also the fact that it just started up and ran that well on 3 year old fuel and plugs etc blows me away 🤣 I expected it to be way worse
Can't wait to see how this car turns out, keep up the good work!
Its always so satisfying seeing a car like this that got abandoned get a 2nd chance. Take care of it!
i love the fact that it's just a little dirty and rusty and runs a little rough but nothing serious. excited to see the progress of it :D On the headlights i would recommend trying the thing with acetone steam method :)
Honestly given how little rust it seems to have, it deffo seems to have been a good buy! I'm glad to see ya back on your feet again after taking such a hard hit with the JZX.
I for one am eager to see what the S15 has awaiting her.
Good luck with the new ride, we are rooting for you!
Awesome vlog. Nice to see the car being cleaned so quickly.
S15's look so good, and I'm sure you can bring those headlights back with wet sanding
The cleaning actually made the car look so good !
Welcome to the s15 crew! I will be following this build mate so excited to see this sideways and ON THE ROAD!
really excited for the new S-15 build! Although I am very bummed abt the chaser, I can't wait to see the new content. Really stoked and best of luck with the new build!
Hey! Have you tried sanding the lights and getting UV resistant clear coat on them? Worked on my R33 Lights. Sanded by hand 400 - 600 and 800 grit before clearcoat. Polishing only introduces wax into the plastic, making it hazy or short term good.
Alexi just introduced me into a new fun thing to watch.
Watching Japanese people clean dirty JDM icons.
Shino always makes me smiles.
I really like her personality.
ALEXI KEEP THE CONTENT COMING. You're the only YT channel I currently even enjoy watching. Everyone else sucks. Noriyaro THE GOAT
unsure about the widebody, love that stock s chassis look. But hyped to see where you go with it none the less! I trust your vision ;)
Idk man, a Vertex Edge or even a C-West body kit would look pretty good on this thing. Not too wide but not stock either!
Letss Gooooo!!
Wet sand the headlights with 2000 grid, then 2500 grid, then use a rough polishing compound and they should be as good as new. Finish it off with UV lacquer and you're all done!
I'm genuinely enjoying the fixing of this car with this great editing and speaking 😊
The headlights need to be sanded. The yellowing and hazyness is just the old clear. If you only try to polish you won't remove enough of the old material and will just smooth it out some, as you've got.
I think brush marks on the paint is the last thing to worry about on this car haha
Been so excited to start seeing this process since the last video!!!
Im so exited for the content which is about to come. Please dont stop and keep being motivated as usual!!
You have to try and incorporate some cat paw prints into the finished car, like on the livery or maybe on the seats.
This is a new start, man, best wishes to you!
I love watching someone going on a restoration journey and I love a good pair of half cabs!
You dont have to replace the headlights. Just wet sand them starting from 400grid, 600, 800, 1000,1200,1500,2000, 2500 and then polish. I do that to my cars and it makes day/night difference!
This cleaning is by far one of the most satisying things i saw in my life. Very nice!
This video was soo SATISFYING! Congrats on your new car, looks awesome!
loved the video! show us as much as you can on the build process of the s15!
Keep it up, looking forward to see where this is going
MAN! The first shot if it clean looked amazing!!
That wiring loom got me pretty good back in 2004. S13 running negative camber in the front. 2am on the freeway coming back from a canyon run. Bam! Front tire blows, fender explodes away from the car, loom destroyed. That was a very not-fun repair (and a pain in the ass to source a single S13 Silvia fender back then). Of course, I had meant to relocate it into the engine bay as soon as I bought the car in 2001 but never did.
congrats on the s15. hoping seeing you drift yours gives me the motivation to finish mine !
Been following you Alexi for years and I’m super happy for you my man!! I was so sad for you and the Beer Can, but this S15 looks ripe for some NEW EPIC future content!!!
Excited for the future videos on this! 😍
Nice to see ash ketchum helping alexi out. What a bro.
Looks Amazing! Can't wait for how it turns out
Wow it looks so much better after a simple clean!
alexi you are the reason i even started to like cars, warms me up to see you smile with this s15. i was so sad when i saw the insta post about the chaser looked like you had big plans for it. NOW LESSSSSSSSGETIT ON THIS SILVIA 😃😃😃😃😃
Nice! Good to see a good start to the S15 project. I look forward to seeing you drive that thing sideways before too long.
Excellent all the best with the new ride!
The s15 is my favorite car of all time, so this is gonna be really interesting to watch progress!
just when i was looking for a new noriyaro vid this comes up, nice
Oh man! The style is so good!!!
I'm so happy for you Alexei. I used to own a RHD S13 here in America and I hope this car will live up to its reputation!!
Im so happy watching the progress on the s15❤️❤️❤️
Excited to see more from this ride.
have a great holiday season man
I love the metallic white they used for the s15 so beautiful
i'm so excited to see where this goes!
So hyped for the outcome of this car!!
Cleaned up pretty good! Excited for the next video!
I’m so excited for this project
Wow, great starting point!
Lol her satisfaction when the dirt comes off the car is basically all of us guys when we clean our cars lol
Its so fun to see you working on this car. Washing it made a world of difference
Congrats, I look forward to the evolution of this cahr!
Damn awesome car. That Silvia in the headlights is everything 😃
Looking so forward to this build....
Wow that glow up though!! So clean.
This was like the most satisfying cleaning video ever!

Already looking really good!😲
