OMG I had a heart attack when you trimmed the dollies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have dollies my mother did while my father was in Italy during WW II they are a work of art. I just had some of them out the other day to get them framed. Once I am dead who knows what will happen to them, but for me they are a treasure from my Mom.

A friend of mine had doilies her mother had made hand tacked to a sheet that had been quilted with large squares, so it looked like the quilting outlined the doilies. She has it on her guest bed to show it off. It is beautiful!!

Wonderful video! I have so many of my dad’s snap, plaid, western shirts. I kept them to make a quilt and you totally have inspired me -Except I don’t know if I can cut them!!!
Love the doily idea but if they were made by my mom, no way can I cut them! I know, I am way too sentimental!!!
Super job, Charity. Absolutely love your creativity and you are so good in front of the camera!

Great presentation! Your nail file tip is genius because it won’t slip like the little jumpers do but you won’t have the option of various heights.

There are some really good tips in this video. Thanks for sharing. I crochet doilies. The pineapple pattern you showed is one of my favorite patterns. I would never put one in a quilt though. There is a lot of hours that go into making a doily. I love listening to you. You are a great presenter.

Can you imagine what this would've cost us had we gone and paid an instructor at your local quilt shop? Thanks, Charity for your generosity in sharing your experience with us. And thank you to the family of Fabric Cafe for hiring her.

I made a quilt like yours when my brother in law died. The designer of the pattern was so impressed. Her words were “I never thought of this”. My sister in law loved the quilt with the pocket.

Great video with very interesting methods. Gasped when you cut the doily. Did you use shorter stitch length or secure further to avoid unraveling? 👏♥️🇦🇺

I don't have a collection of doilies but I love the idea of using them. I may have to start trolling the thrift stores.
I would prefer to use the entire doily and not cut off the edges since that is usually the prettiest part.

Old doilies find me and follow me home from yard and rummage sales along with embroidered tablecloths and other linens. There are often stains or holes in these charming pieces. I feel no remorse in using portions of these in my projects.

Great tutorial! My Viking Sewing machine has a humper jumper accessory to use for going over thick blue jeans seams or as Charity referenced in video buttons or snaps. It provides the same technique she demonstrated. Check to see if you have a an accessory for your machine, just do you know they are a weird looking accessory.🧵🪡
