All chalices collected, some levels can be revisited later in the game when you gain head Dan abiliy, and you can acess secret areas, i recorded only those secret areas because it's not necessary to record whole level repeated. -

This was my Dark Souls back when I was a kid.
I loved this games quite a lot and thank goodness some of the still exist
@Friedrich dark souls' storytelling style is more of a scattered folklores & myths hunt instead of straight storytelling.
but if we're comparing difficulty though, medievil 2 feels very close to dark souls. its a hard game that force me in my past childhood to use cheats to avoid the frustrating difficulty and complete the game.
Glad I'm not the only one that noticed the Dark Souls connection. Difficult games, but that's part of their charm.
Medievil 1 is dark souls, medievil 2 is bloodborne
The Medievil 1&2 soundtracks are pure gold. Thank you Paul Arnold and Andrew Barnabas for these masterpieces
Oh, the memories... And nightmares... I want this game again!
+Collin Willoughs Am playing it. :)
Remastered version comes out this year.
@@asmodean7239* Remake
Medievil games intro's pure gold. And that skeleton in the "menu" and that laughter when you press "New Game" haha :D Pure Classics.
I never played the full game. I played the demo a bunch of times on the ps underground demo disco. Good times.
Blue disc Jampack 98 was the shit.
Nostalgic so much.
The Medievil games were a gigantic part of my childhood. I hope they make another one for the PS4.
They didn't make a sequel for PS2 or the PS3 but they're gonna start again on PS4? I'd say chances are slim
Phvrvoh Phonk Well they did make one for the PSP. It's called medievil ressurection. It came out in 2010 I believe and I own it.
River Phoenix FF VII Remake, Shenmue III, and Rare Replay happened. I suppose I have to agree with you when you say chances are slim, but still, it could happen.
well, they just announced a remaster for it in PSX 2017 (:
NGTV the dream become reality (:
One of the best games ever created. They will not be able to create a game like this for the next 50 years.
Even the remake ?
@@pablogomesoliveira2677 Remake is just remake, no imrpovments, ususaly downgrades instead.
Every remake that came out is just a laughable attempt on cash grab based on nostalgia - developers instead of sticking to things that worked and improving them they cut entire game sections changing entire mechanics for worse.
There may be few gems from Indie Developers that remade their old games - only example I know is Ai War and Ai War 2 that used things that people loved and expanded on new ideas carefully listening their fanbase to create something good and unique.
Big developers only listen to their pockets.
Wow, where has 20 years gone,
I remember loving playing medieval 1+ 2.
The Circus level creeped me out so much because of those man/woman enemies.
The creativity. The imagination.
The green knights scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.
This game is the best thing ever
Dude why does no one talk about this game? It has:
- Cool and varied levels
- Actually likeable characters
- Fun (but button mashy) gameplay with a shitload of weapons
- Gameplay variety (you kill shit, solve puzzles, platform, time travel, put your head on zombie hands, build yourself a muscly body from spare parts and box, etc)
-Creepy atmosphere with just enough cheesiness
Might just be my nostalgia talking I dunno
EDIT: BRO I forgot your boxing name is fucking Dankenstein this game is perfect
Halloween’s almost here. What a great time of year to revisit this gem.
I wish that this was put on PSN...
Don't give up skeleton!
Wait a minute... that's where "don't give up, skeleton!" is from? This game? I see it all the time on messages on Dark Souls games.
Best game ever for playstation
Subscribed, my brother. Thanks for doing for those awesome longplays! Especially Medievil is THE game of my childhood ;)
The good old times.
Oh god, a lot of good old memories :3
I greatly disliked that health fountains didn't regenerate in this game! It destroyed all replay value if you wanted to go back and mess with a level again with new and better weapons you couldn't risk it otherwise you wouldn't have enough health for the harder levels. That was a terrible design choice.
Health fountains did not regenerate in Medievil 1 either
@@KitsuneSama Are you sure? I remember replaying levels tons of times in Medievil 1 and the fountains were still there for me.
@@pgcroonerva3256 Yea perhaps there are different versions of the game but the one I played the fountains dried up forever.
@@KitsuneSama PAL version of Medievil 1 has regenerating health pools.
@@WEndro333 oh I never knew, I remember when I got it for my ps1 it was infinite heal but many years later I got the games again and neither healed but I did vaguely remember they both had inifinte fountains but then they did not.
Legendary
i thought people hated this game.
***** I've never heard of someone who hated Medievil. I could imagine why a Zelda fanboy would but that's about it.
it's just that when a good game comes out and it's good reviews...there's always a sequel...and sometimes...a sequel can be bad.
Not this time. Medievil II is actually better than the first.
@@EWToonsInColor no
I remember that I was introduced to medievil by a demo disc that Medievil II on. Its been so long.
Wulfrum Hall scared the living crap outta me when i was a kid. :'(
i will so remember those freakshow magicians all my life... that damn WUTI WUTI WUTI =====DDD
This game was awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Those humans screams while turning into pumpkins would give me the creeps and i would panic so much in trying to help them
EDIT: OMG i completely forgot about the wulfrum hall, that whole level was creepy as hell
Greenwich oh how you scared me back then.
I still love this game so much ❤️
When i used to play this at a young age i never got to solve the puzzle at greenwhich observatory when u have to place your head somewhere and it frustrates me finally i got to see how to make that bridge go down i wish i was able to solve it before.
dude i got stuck there for so long, but i did figure it out in the end, and it was the best .
Now that i think about it, i think this is why i like getting stuck in games and not understanding what to do, but knowing that there is an answer.
scariest fucking level btw, the first time i could hardly move forward when the green alien heads showed up
The part where the ripper kills Kiya always would make me scared when I was little, re-watching it now it's not near as bad as I remembered it :P
that's my favorite tragedian part in this awesome game
Daniel on a hand? My dad used to call him Handiel
Your dad is a god.
Medievil 1 e 2 sono leggendari,ARTE PURA!,grafica,suono,giocabilità,impeccabili.
Pretty decent sequel, not as good as the first but good game nonetheless.
+River Phoenix For me this one is much better.
I loved them both, they are different on environments and yet they got the same dark atmosphere which is something that doesnt happen in sequels nowadays. They dont do games like this anymore sadly
I feel the AI was improved significantly in the sequel too
good game, worse camera
I was watching this game and was comparing it with a lot of other games, with things I have not seen before.
For example, here you remove the head of the player, allowing it to move around and find hidden places.
Animations are so wonderful with cool gradients, in new games this does not happen because they try to make them realistic.
The key for example got my attention. When you use it, stardust shows up, really cool.
The environment is unique, not generic like nowadays. For example Assassin's Creed uses copy pasted buildings.
Medievil 2 has nearly everything unique, you do not feel that repetition.
The player has so much character and uniqueness, the movement, the sliding, the climbing.
The explanation of the game is done through a phantom who shows up after some cool lightning particles combine.
This has never been seen before into any game I can think of since 2005 and above.
The books remind me of skyrim where you could read stuff, still here they are magical.
The healing is not done instantaneously, you have to stay still in the healing fire which has particles moving around.
Now you just find things around which collide with the player and they heal you.
Armor and sword make it shine from all other games.
I would write a whole list of features and this would never end to show how bad new games have become.
PS4 games I believe they will be the final blast of negativity.
Aside all things I mentioned, there is one legendary thing I will never pop off my mind of Medievil 2:
18:40 The tyrannosaurus rex is so LEGENDARY, that NO GAME EVER thought of the amazing animation, soundtrack and above all, the player has to use some logic to beat it. Absolutely staggering. This has nothing to do with 2005+ games.
Neither Minecraft, neither Skyrim, neither GTA, neither any other cool game that we call nowadays has this magic.
Man, i like you. You appreciate the small things like me. Many games back then were pretty unique. You know what's the problem nowadays ? Lack of original artwork and uniqueness on gameplay mechanics. Just look, many games now are open world and you have to reveal stuff and explore and even though they are different games the mechanic is identical, climb to a tall place and reveal the are just like this, it's so linear it's almost a reskin in each game: assassin's creed, farcry, horizon new dawn and zelda and probably a few others (with the exception on zelda BOTW, because this game... man, the copied mechanic really fit into zelda and they created a classic for the future)
But regardless of that every thing is pretty linear. I do apreciatte new gen games but the old ones are very unique in every aspect. Look this game up: Hexen, it is a first person game but without the shooting part unless you choose one possible class. If they would remake this game it would truly be a gem in the new gen, but again why do this game deserve a remaster ? simply put ? It's unique bro, artwork, puzzling, fighting in FP without a gun in a fantasy world. And we know there are a lot of more games that deserve a remaster. Tbh, i think it's time for the companies to stop producing new games with copypasted new gen mechanics and start digging old gems and ressurrect them. Who know if this will eventually give them an idea to make a newborn new gen unique game to be remembered
That was some good graphics for the fmvss especially back in the day PlayStation was really the place for presentation back then
So many memories... I still remember the Jack the Ripper's part like it was yesterday.
This was basically The Legend Of Zelda for the PS1. Except a lot more gruesome and scary >:)
My god the intro...I loved it a lot when I was little...
great game
the soundtrack was very good
Coool! More psx longplays PLEASE!
awesome vid, brings back memories!!!
The nostalgia hits me so fucking hard watching this.
one of the ps1 legends...
i used to love this game !! 1 and 2
this bring so many great memories...
A 4 hour long video and only one ad is this really CZcams?
More PSX longplays please!!
There was a sequel......shieeet son time to do it.
best game ever
i like how the buss is called tyrannosaurus wrecks when there wasnt even a t-rex there in the first place
Yeah it was a triceratops xD
Still I good place to put a pun about a Dinosaur that Wrecks a Museum
It's forbidden if it's too long and if it contains copyrighted music, my intro contains my animation and music composed by me
i had forgotten about this game!
Best Game in ages i fucking love it
Man,. I member the ps1 was life,. and That my only friend was the ps1 for a long time. I member playing this on a cold morning.
Wow, que recuerdos!!
Loved this an the first 1 xx
Watching you struggle with this game was physically painful.
Loool allthough i dont want to sound ungratefull to the player and i appreciate the longplay, it's true, it was painfull, it's like he has feets for hands.
I think he was playing with the directional pad...
It's painful lol..
I'm doing some more, stay tuned
I loved the first game, sucks i never knew about this game till years later, only seen it once in person for WAY too much years ago. Shame, but at least it exists.
god i miss this game. i wish the psp remake of the first one had done better sales-wise, maybe we couldda gotten a remake of this one, too. i actually really like the psp remake!
The purpose of a longplay, as Cubex55 has stated countless times before, is to play the game as it is, without cheats or commentaries. If you want commentaries, there are other channels you can visit, but the longplays that are put up here from their longplay website will most likely never include commentaries.
Personally, I don't care for commentaries, so I'm happy with the way these are.
Nothing like time travel shenanigans to fix everything, but it does leave one to wonder about the Mullock women. Did Dan's changing the past mean that he never went down to the sewers and therefore never saved them? Or is it some kind of weird merging of the timelines in which, despite the contradictions, he actually did save them even though he no longer had a reason to go down to the sewers in the first place?
what do we learn from this game? The hand is quicker then the eye!.. nothing personal Sir Daniel.
Very nice! :)
Yeah, go to Whitechapel. What can go wrong?
Wish this one would get a remaster
I hope Sony makes a remake of this game feels like Sony completely abandoned and forgot the game now we have Medievil Remake for PS4
Almost as scary as Nightmare Creatures 2
18:45 most epic moment.
Cheers, I snagged it last night.
I just watched a clip of the intro to Resurrection... that was enough for me to know I won't be bothering with it. They've made it all cartoony and added new stupid characters and its not nearly as dark and creepy as it should be. According to Wikipedia they cut out a lot of the original levels and added newer stuff instead... I haven't played it, but I don't think I want to do it to myself to be honest.
I want This reboot on Next gen
Good news for us guys. IT IS COMINGGGG !!!
I hope so man, i really hope so and hopefully they do the sequel after the 2 remakes. MediEvil III; Fate's Arrow
Sadly i must agree with you lool But hey, let's hope the game becomes sucessfull in the community and they decide to do it, ending the game finnaly. Because from what i've searched MediEvil it's supposed to be a trilogy ending the history in the 3rd game, and this never happened. The history is very solid, basically it has to do for him to be the true hero and world saviour by being the first man hit in the battlefield if he wasn't hit the battle would be lost and the world would be ruled by zarok. It's actually interesting
my childhood
Que infancia por dios
Thanks cubex55!!!
AAHH SHIT! Sir Daniel has got a Gatling Gun :D
When I was very young I get this game from my friend and when I played t I was scared all the time :D So then I just stopped playing it... now I dont know what the heck was I so scared from :D
This game was ridiculously hard. No regenerating health pools when you revisit old levels, some odd mechanics that the game does nothing to hint at what you’re supposed to do, and the god awful hit frames on those weapons. Especially on the swords and the axe. Still enjoyed playing it, but won’t want to for a good while.
So for anybody wondering if this game is backwards compatible, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is it does run, but the bad news is not very well.
I played through up to the dinosaur boss and experienced some serious slow down and audio cutting out, especially when talking to the little tutorial ghost. The game would just chug and the sound would completely cut out. Outside of dialogue, this is still an issue, but I found that pausing the game for a few seconds fixes it, but it only lasts a few minutes before you have to do it again.
Also worth mentioning is that not all PS3’s play PS1 games and not all PS1 games are backwards compatible. I have an original fat PS3 from 2006, but more recent models forego the backwards compatibility. Do some research to see if yours can pay them. As for the games themselves, their is a wiki list, but MediEvil 2 wasn’t listed, so really, it’s trial and error. It may or may not work.
I ordered the Grinch to see if that’ll work. That was a pretty cool game.
this game was so creepy. somehow, the silliness in it enhanced the creepiness. a dark souls-like game in my childhood memories. can't beat it back then without using cheats.
i dunno how they'll remaster the circus part. the monsters there are so disturbing. even more disturbing if sir fortesque flatten them with 2h hammer...
Agreed, example?
Ocarina of Time 3DS- there have been many HD remakes since the original was released, but 3DS actually remodeled the game.
i remember not being allowed to play this as a kid lmao
I recently watched a longplay of the first Medievil, and i question, should i watch the remake of the first game after this, Medievil Resurrection? I ask because you never know with remakes of the first game of a series, they could be amazing, or horrible.

it is ;)
THERE WAS INSTRUCTIONS FOR IRON SLUGGERS FIGHT?! I WONDERED HOW HE DID UPPERCUTS AND OVERHEAD SLAMS
Loool first time i that i see them as well
It has one button to do that in my head, after the bird tore me at the beginning of the course 1:19:26, I put my neck back and vezérlőgépnél and put the encoder in the safe?
The level with the vampires, whitefum hall or something the music on that level sounds just like x men 2 wolverines revenge
WHO loved the stegoceratops part???
sony should remake Medievil 2 on the vita and also relese the original Medievil 2 on the European psn store + i think it's time for Medievil 3 to appar on the ps4! GLORY TO MEDIEVIL! =P
Im sorry but you are crazy and you got bad taste. The psp remaster killed the first game and therefore anymore remasters on a portable console would kill every single time. What they should do is a proper remaster on a console, which is happening right now
EPIC
I don't know if I am wrong or what. but i have seen an other ending on this game where Sir Daniel and Kiya goes together in her tomb and then it lowers them Down Again...
what is the point to that? a secoundary ending of the game like all the bioshock endings or what?
hmmm that´s strange, i remember a different ending when Daniel and his girlfriend go back to sleep together in an ancient coffin ...
There are 2 diferents endings.
The endings depend as to collecting all chalices.
Bad Ending: Collect all chalices. Fortesque & Girlfriend use the time machine and r attacked by a hybrid of Zarok and this game's villain
Good Ending: Collect less than 10 chalices. Fortesque & Girlfriend rest in his coffin.
Its the opposite man, the good ending is with all the chalices collected even though zarok appears but that was because a Medievil 3 was going to happen but they canceled.
Yes, it was called the "MediEvil 3: Arrow's Fate" something like that. Basically the history would be that her mummy girlfriend somehow stole the time machine after medievil 2 and went back in time to probably revenge her death and then she became powerfull with some immortal gem something like that, so time passed by and later she joined forces with zarok, making zarok way more strong than we know him, so daniel would need to go back in time too and fight kira and zarok etc resulting in something i can't quite remember like, he being the hero he was supposed to be by dying in that battlefield with the arrow on his eye, cuz if he didn't the world was doomed thats why "arrow's fate".
You can look up this info, it's cool to know. I don't know why they cancelled, but now the medievil is going to get reworked so hopefully they will rework the 2 games and make the sequel, would be so awesome !!!
Thumbnail picture says "ah shit, here we go again...".
It feels like this game is a lot more aimless than Medievil 1, you're just going to places and doing god knows what, when in Medievil 1 you always had a goal in mind, to leave the Graveyard, see what's up with the Village, find a way past the Dragon Gate and then get to Zarok's Palace.
Exactly what dinosaur is that thing in the opening scene supposed to be? No four-legged horned dino that I know of was a carnivore.
3:07:00
perfect sound acting LOL
