Here in South Dakota, you can get your permit at 14, you don't even need to take drivers ed, a permit meant you had to drive a specific amount of hours for a couple months with someone in the passenger seat who already has a license, then you simply get your license and your free to go.
I also live in South Dakota. I'm very concerned that you can drive here when you're 14 lol

No way sir I did not want to pay & stay taking drivers ed😂 So technically I was an unlicensed driver from 14-18🤭-but only bc in CA, once you’re over 18 you don’t need to take drivers ed. Best believe the second I turned 18 I went to the dmv, winged the written test(questions were pretty obvious), aced the drivers test & got my permit until my license came in the mail. Here’s to two years of being a licensed driver🥳 Love your story times- keep it up! :))

I took drivers Ed recently. Last semester, I took drivers Ed, even though I turned 15 in December. But, by law, I had to take it 2nd semester. The class was really easy, and I always treated it like a study hall. Outside of school, on the road, the atmosphere wasn’t so chill to say the least. Oftentimes, the dates that me and my friend scheduled to drive with the drivers Ed teacher were taken by other groups, or the guy didn’t even show up. But, today, I am driving pretty good. Unfortunately, those times that I wasn’t able to get driving in with the teacher, 6+ of 1 hour driving, made me not have as much driving on the road as I need. Instead of having 20+, I have 14.5 or so.
