  • @munkeyfucker

As a Canadian, this makes me laugh! The expression on your faces looking at the Eat-More, freaking priceless!!
It is a more East Coaster package, but I found they have some of the most unique snacks from my short time out in Newfoundland.
Here in Ontario you can find most of what you tasted, but some are just so uniquely East Coster.
Side note for the Maple Syrup and Jacks idea.
I'm a cook, and have made "Jacked up Syrup".
Mix 25% JD with 75% Maple Syrup. Just keep it away from the kiddos mmk haha

As a person from Saint John, New Brunswick most of these things are only found in Atlantic Canada. Ganong chocolate is amazing. I prefer Ganong over other chocolate. I HATE dulse but my dads dad's family LOVE it! Molasses is definitely an acquired taste. It is better mixed with butter in toast. Also chicken bones are made that way to resemble actual bones. The hard cinnamon outside is the 'bone's and the chocolate in the middle is the 'marrow'. My family LOVES them!

Yay, NB rarely ever gets mentioned in these things! Thank you, Paige! It's not Christmas without chicken bones. We usually make baked beans or gingerbread cookies with molasses. Dulse tastes just like bacon when you fry it. There won't be anymore Covered Bridge chips, the factory burned down. Ruffles makes the best bacon flavoured chips: Sour cream and bacon. 😋 Thanks for the reaction guys!

I'm from New Brunswick, and it was great to see this video! So many of these treats are very iconic New Brunswick, but like others have said, they are often enjoyed by the older generations. I think the majority of the population choose other snacks. I love Crunchie bars, and OMG, I think if you gave dulse another try, you'd like it. It's exactly like you described - salted sticky paper - but once you chew it it breaks down and it's sooo good.

Growing up in New Brunswick, I use to eat Dulse for 10 cents a bag. Now it is more like $6 for a small bag. Have you ever had gingerbread cookies, then you've had Molasses. Eating it on toast is an east coast thing. Chicken bones only came out at x-mas and Eat More are the best. Seeing all those snacks brought back memories.

    I’m from Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
Most of us don’t use cheese curds because of the melting factor. The cheese curds don’t melt and they stay a weird texture that I don’t like and cheese curds taste like chewing on rubber and they aren’t salty enough. There’s places that put shredded mozzarella on it. Even in the stores, they don’t use cheese curds and neither do I.
We have donair poutine which is really good. If somethings too rich, we’ll add ketchup to the corner. It brings out different flavours profiles. Never forget pepper and they give us vinegar too when we order them from the restaurants and we do eat them as a meal, it’s really cheap and you could feed like 3 people with a large poutine. I only put the condiments in the corner because I don’t want my whole poutine to taste like that. The ketchup and stuff in corner, it’s nice not have the whole poutine being sour from the condiments. You can pick choose. Honestly the biggest poutine I’ve ever seen was from Costco but it wasn’t good at all. The donairs places make the best poutine here. I also love the KFC and A&W poutines. I love the way kfc fries taste, my other favourite is the curly fries from Arby’s. The fully loaded ones are amazing and cheap, it has sour cream, grated cheese, bacon bits and green onions. For that price, it’s a pretty good bargain. I found that you can eat the curly fries and they still maintain the shape. I don’t like fries because of how they get really soggy the next day but curly fries are crispy and you can put old fries in the oven to reheat, instead of using the microwave. That’s my tip.
