In the market for a new float. I'm currently just spearing freshwater lakes and reef's on vacation but plan to step up to bluewater trips in the future... should i just buy a gannet float now (buy once cry once) and use it for everything or would you advise me differently. If just buy the float, what size... i feel like their "reef master 50" would work well for me and kind of future proof me for small bluewater fish... maybe run it in series with something else later if I really get into blue water??? just looking for opinions cuz $400 is crazy to spend on a float lol

Picking a float is pretty difficult. Depending on if you didn't need to travel with it, I would just ask Bret over at Spearfactor to build one of his bulletproof floats. They won't cost more than a hundred bucks or so. If I had cash to burn the Gannett isn't a bad option but I would ping Petros over at Spear America to see what he has to say.

@@castandspear will be traveling. gannett is ~5 lbs which does take a toll but I'll look into what you recommended. Thanks
