I just bought a bottle of cheap hairspray and since then I have a hard time to get my print of the build plate, lol. Works like a charm and I don't need a heated bed at all anymore. I have some very impressive results using this little printer.

Yes the hair spray really works, I use it on my new Anycubic Mega S. I'll get back to the X1 soon and remove the hot plate I think.

What hairspray did you use?....having same issue.

I just used the cheapest one available and reapply every couple of prints. Also test stripes really works and the skirt option I can check bed level on every print, if it peels easy in one corner I make a quick adjustment.

They have a official heated print bed for it. I recently bought it but now I need to wait on easythreed to send me the firmware... haha....

Where did you get the connector for heated bed ? I bought a heated bed but it Was shipped with Extertal Power supply

Personally I think the separate power supply is better, as you have the option for turning it off or on depending on the circumstances, although I haven't used Ultimaker with this printer yet.

Please excuse the poor audio quality and rushed or incomplete nature of this video. Despite this being an important subject for anyone wanting to buy a cheap 3D printer, I just wanted to get it out there so I can move on with future products and videos.

Judging by the video, your flow seemed off, looked underextruded in most places, and in a few other it looked overextruded. I own an X1 too. I used it regularly for months, and even printed all parts for my DIY printer. It's not a bad printer, really. You need to troubleshoot it and calibrate it like any other printer. I almost never use it now, since I have 3 printers, but it's nice knowing it's there if I ever needed it.

Yeah something was seriously wrong there, I also think stepper motors were overheating or a belt was slipping. I certainly won't be going back after getting the Anycubic Mega S, but I might try and get it working for smaller PLA prints.
100% I don't recommend anyone do the heated bed upgrade or any other mods on the X1. Leave it as is and buy a 2nd printer.

hello... just use one piece of A4 paper. cut to size, add some paper clips to secure the problematic magnetic plate. Works like a bitch on steroids. No need all these funny and silly upgrades. Boom!
