"just felt like I was a level right below him." Man that broke my heart for Kelvin. I feel like he needs to rework his training camp, I could see him doing great with Trevor Wittman. He has the heart, tenacity, and power. All he needs to polish up are his skills.
I think it was more that he felt completely outclassed. You put in all the work and it ends up being nowhere near enough.

Rob lands that whipping right high kick with the foot in every fight, he’s so quick and he prioritizes landing it over throwing it as hard as he can
Rob has me practicing that 1-2 high kick daily such a beautiful move
When kelvin says he's just a level below it makes total sense, he's right there
I can't even imagine how defeated he must feel, to know that you gave something your absolute all and no matter what you did there was a counter or an answer to it on the other side. We only see the physical aspect of the fights, I like all the behind the scenes and vlogs because it makes the fighters waaay more human and relatable.

It just means that you are close to him, but not close enough. You keep reaching but you barely scratch that surface. But kelvin did everything he could and he was tough
When I saw the fight. I saw a boxer vs. a Mixed Martial artist. Kelvin has great hands but it's not enough when you get to the elite level. He's also a tweener between 170 and 185.
@@dsy6238 Agree. He may have touched Whittaker up a bit but it was a clean sweep for Rob. Outclassed in striking, outclassed in the wrestling and so on, and that probably is what hurts the most. The fact that they were due to fight years ago for the belt probably doesn't help either, possibly makes him think that he never had a chance if they somehow fought 2 years ago.

Whitaker took some dmg vs Till, Cannonier and Gastelum. He should rest as long as he can. Let Izzy and Vettori get busy in June and then Whitaker gets the shot when he's ready in fall vs the winner. Glad he didn't rush 🙌

Love these videos. Also I'm glad Rob declined the title fight in June. Returning this soon vs Izzy wouldn't be ideal. Now he can chill for a while, fully recover and fight the winner for title in Sept/Oct exactly when he said he wanted to return. Dana confirmed it to Okamoto that Rob gets the Izzy/Vettori winner.

If Rob beats Issy in their 2nd fight then I vote Issy has to fight 3 top contenders before he gets a rematch Rob! What's fair is fair! Rob was on a massive win streak before he fought Issy the first time and there was no rematch, Rob got cycled back into the rankings and once again had EARN his title shot the hardest way! The reason Issy is fighting Marvin the Orc instead of Rob is because after taking a loss to Jan in light heavy weight fight Issy can't afford to lose at middle weight and he know that Rob can beat him!
