The daughter had the audacity to mention her mum’s belly?? Look in the mirror girl.
That poor motorcycle mum with her husband laughing because the dress is roomy on top making his wife feel flat chested, and the daughter shaped like a pudding saying her mum had a belly. The two of them could be Jabba the Hut's long lost cousins. That motorcyle mum has a nice figure but she doesn't realise it, they've sapped her confidence.

Thought the same. Sandy has a lovely figure. The daughter is nasty, saying her mum looks pregnant in the dress. The daughter is clearly very overweight.
I was very surprised in the first moment, because she has such a beautiful figure. I saw what the daughter meant, when I saw the mother from the side. Like a lot of women her age, she has a little hormonal belly, which shows more, because she is slim. But she still looked pretty. The comments of her family were very rude.
No wonder she just gets on her motorbike and rides...most likely fed up with daughter and husband.. stupid idea of the corset and sash, pointless looking at dresses really, especially when they didn't like the one she liked

These daughters are selfish wee princesses. I adored my Mother and if she had wanted to wear her nightgown and slippers I wouldn't have cared. My Mother was my heart and so long as she was there then who cares what she wore. I simply loved her

When the bride doesn't know the difference between renaissance and burlesque. The corsette over the dress looked disgusting. The daughter would have benefited from a corset, but it should be under the dress.

It doesn't look as if these ladies really know much about dressing the mother of the bride, or anyone. The owner of the shop has dreadful taste, Margaret's ideas are very old fashioned and the other lady is clueless. They have a lot of dresses, of which some are beautiful, but they have no sense of what suits their customers.
Why do they not let their mother's pick their own dresses ? I did, forr my daughter's wedding. I bought one in London and it was really unusual. Everybody loved it.
Where did you buy it in London out of interest?
I bought my own dress and my daughter was disgusted and had to send me in the post what she approved of. It cost me a fortune. I just invited people to my wedding, the guests turned up in the clothes they decided on themselves. No pressure.

Awful old fashioned dresses. I love the less formal weddings in the UK. None of this bride's mother going down the aisle etc
The only thing to wear with that corset is a white blouse and a full cotton skirt.
What the "corsetted" mother wore in the end was much more Antique Greek/Roman inspired than Renaissance. Also, people who don't have a clue about dress and costume history should not settle on such themes for an event, as they will likely mess it up anyway. That corset was not even Renaissance! Elizabethan corsettery looked so much different. What they had there was a very, very modern version of something Victorian, perhaps even early Edwardian.
GLAD I never had a daughter, some have dreadful taste! Margeret is a pain in the butt....she needs to know her place, and has NO right saying what she did.

@@mariaking4950 Maybe a more dressy pantsuit. I went straight to corporate, forgetting that you can find dressy pantsuits too. But not the silver one with hem points like a Court Jester, which they trot out all the time on this show. (Along with the brown ruched 'almondine' gown that is STILL on their website in 2024)!.
If the mums are more comfortable in trousers why do the have to wear dresses? I had a hard enough time finding a dress when I was a bride. I settled for the plainest thing available but I still wasn't comfortable with it. That was thirty six years ago and it was the last dress I ever wore. When my offspring get married I'll be in trousers.

Looks like they bought those dresses as a jobot .. liquidation stock....from the 80s. Probably really over priced too.
I never understood why people think formal clothing MUST necessarily be uncomfortable. If the size fits, if the hem of the skirt is done well (not too long, so that the wearer will not stumble on it), and the skirt is wide enough to comfortable walk in, if the straps do not keep sliding down the arms, if there is no deep cleavage on the bodice or high slit on the skirt, then this dress will be just as comfy to wear as a nightie. As to the shoes, there are thousands of models out there with flat heels and nevertheless elegant and showy. So what is the problem?

Oh Sandie, I feel your pain. I’m proud to be a woman and I’ve been mother of the bride or groom 5 times. It’s such an awkward thing if you’re not a dress gal. I always felt weird getting ‘the dress.’ And don’t get me started on shoes! I now where gold sneakers to weddings.
