I've said it once and I'll say it again....I can never understand when a car park is empty, why they have to park right next to your car! It happens to me so much, so bizarre. I can only imagine its a 'herding instinct' thing. Anyway....brill video once again.
I share the same opinion mate! Huge car park, loads of spaces but smack bang right next to me lol. Maybe they were looking for company 🤣🤣

I often wonder the same damn thing and more often than not I'm trying to have my privacy which is why I parked far away in the empty lot. Sometimes you need to split a package or something with your buddy.

You can get the mini sachets of butter at Morrisons or the Costco or order from eBay You could also get jam, salt and pepper and stuff.
I worked in BC for 6 months on a massive construction job. You needed to go further past the co-op, up the really steep hill, for all the best shops …and pubs. It also has the cleanest public toilets I’ve ever used. They even had Jo Malone designer hand soap in there ffs! Lots of artists and writers live around there. Really nice place.
Yeh it's definitely a quiet little town with some character 🙂. Doesn't surprise me there's money there to be fair 👍

Great advice for newbies! I did exactly that. My house in Canada is in the wilderness anyways, so it was kind of like camping anyways, lol! I spent the night in my car (Matrix) and found out my bed was NOT as comfie as I had thought it would be. I was able to remedy that before heading out on my first trip. You had quite the eventful night! I do love a storm when I'm safe and warm in the car or RV. Beautiful location!

biggest lesson i learnt in car camping was to constantly drink water on very long journeys, when i went up to scotland i didnt drink water at all to avoid having to use the toilet, oh boy what a mistake i had the worst hydration migraine headace ever, drank 2 ltires of water in space of 30 minutes or so, then took another 2 hours for the headace to ease before i was able to fall asleep😅.
Yeh I know how you feel mate. It's easy to just keep on driving but when you stop, you really feel it in your head

Learned my lesson about kit when I was a TA weekend warrior, it came in handy with any trip away or camping since. I always write a list of stuff and include a fair bit of back up stuff like gas, charging cables and batteries etc. A hot water bottle is always on the list as is at least two flasks :) Looking forward to seeing how your heater works out as temperatures drop in the coming weeks and months.

If its anything like round here people bag the dog crap and leave the bag in the trees. So flicking the crap off the path doesn't leave a plastic bag for a thousand years or kill wildlife in the area.

Get one of those cheap Bluetooth cameras from Amazon and put them on your car at night . And any noise you can see or view back on your phone🏴🚙⛺️

Well said about trialing camping etc. I have been motor homing for over 2 yrs and absolutely love wild camping and pub stops. My friend wants to buy a Motorhome and I’ve Recemended they hire one for week to see if it’s for them also layout etc. keep the vids coming mate.take care ant

Put a small amount of butter in a small plastic container.. If you have Sistema brand plasticware they make a very appropriate size container that is watertight.

Heavy duty casualty blanket waterproof side down under your sleeping bag and against the side. The reflective side will reflect heat into you.

Great tip about camp at home first. Mine was by Loch lomond. Too late to do very much when I got there. You can buy the individual butter packs online mist big retailers do them.
The stick and flick instruction is to stop dog pooh bags being thrown in the hedges. A lot of national trust places say the same.

I'm watching from our boxroom, use it as a den. Having watched you install the 80w tube heater I got one for room in case of possible winter power cuts (have power bank) and future car camps when I change car.
Got mine on Amazon cos couldn't be arsed with 8 mile round trip to Screwfix.
Keeps this room temperature just right for us, size roughly 11ft by 9. 👍

Can get the butter packs from a food wholesaler that supplies hotels etc. I have one near me in south wales but if you do a quick Google search on your area you should find one.

Hi Brendan, here’s a butter or marg tip. You don’t need a whole tub or mini Hotel packs (they’d be expensive). Just get a really dinky Tupperware pot and fill it with butter from home. You’re welcome!

Mate you need to redo those window covers. I had a Renault Mégane scenic and I used paper templates to measure the windows as an exact fit then used greenhouse foil covered by black sheeting and glued and ironed and they fitted as a snug fit in the windows..no need for velcro or anything..
Your DIY skills sound far superior to mine 🤣 but your right, I do need to look at them again 👍. Might be worth looking at some foam possibly
You don’t need small packets of butter, just transfer the amount of butter you need to a small pot before you travel. Sorted 😊

Just biy a small round or square tub and take a little butter and stuff it in there. You have butter on the go.
I do it with coffee, sugar, milk, flour, etc.
It is cheaper than buying those small little round/square plastic throw away butter packs.

I'm not a car camper (don't even have a car) but one thing I will recommend for the cold iis fleece tops and blankets. You can get oversize hoodie tops for less than £20 - they come in a long version too. Also sleep between two fleece layers and add extra layers if required - the teddy fleece is warmest. Honestly you'll be toasty warm. 😊

I filled my car with car camping stuff about a year ago and I've still not gone !!! a tiny c30 lol . Ive even sewn myself some curtains and everything. I often pull up in laybys and make tea and toast though. I found your channel about a month ago and to my surprise you have actually camped in several laybys and carparks I have planned to, what are odds!!! For example The Barmouth layby and elan valley carpark! Maybe I could tag along with you one day if you want the company? I like a nice walk too. You are basically doing the exact things i have planned and failed to do so far, I didn't realise there were other barmy ppl out there too! I think my first adventure will be hope valley area, found a good layby with a view and 4G!
Bullet proof glass body armor van for safety adventure
Check out Shower in a Can as an alternative to wet wipes. I keep one in my van......it's a foam which gets absorbed straight away. Really handy mate.

Nice area for a car camp a little disappointing with the fort at the top of the hill lol At least they didn't knock on you're door and ask to join in I don't think the wife would have been too happy. Not had a failure yet in the back of the car with regards cooking but like you said there's always a first time for everything.
