The fact the jester is like the games trump card is terrifying. You have all this loot and are about to make a successful trip to this moon when you hear that ungodly tune. There's no way to hide from it, kill it, outrun it, nothing. Your only option is to leave, because it is the final card the game can pull to be a 90% run ender (I say 90% because if you are in a party it slows all the way back down after killing someone giving you time to escape)

First is the cranking up part, it's like a timer for ticking bomb. You know the faster the music goes, something really bad will happens. And then even worse is when it finally popped. He started walking slowly, but slowly he can walk faster. Yes, walk fast, not running, but walk really really fast. And the loud thump noise of his steps also getting faster while you desperately running trying to find the way out and risking running out of stamina at the same time. Not to mention he's also un-killable and hard to be avoided once it popped, it's just truly horrifying horror creature ever.

You could have probably survived with 2 things, drop some of your items to rid off the extra weight and dropping off the ledge as late as possible to waste the jesters time moving back. Oh and you couldve hopped on the table let the jester stop for a bit and get a running start again, the jester does get fast over time but that only ramps up if its moving, make that 3 i guess…

Had my first jester encounter today. It seems to reset when you leave the building (leave before the music ends and come back when it stops playing). At least it worked for me. It still killed me after that.
It's best to close doors behind you in scenarios like that to at least slow down the chasing monster, really effective when you need to get a coil head off of you.
Most of the comment said agreed that jester and coil head is one of the most terrifying entities in the game but have you ever sneaking around the blind dog with that one friend who have the loudest mechanical keyboard?
If the devs wanted to be extra trolls, they could make it so one of these things would have a chance of having something else pop out of that box that would change the behavior of this enemy drastically.
Jesters are programmer to block doorways and tight spaces when it starts cranking. If you're gonna keep looting, might as well do it when it's winding up and immobile(but not for long)

apparently it resets if nobody is in dungeons for a certain period of time ( needs testing and proof )
