- Thanks for watching!! In this video i show you guys some sweet upcoming projects, some current projects, and of course my Jeep on 40s with factory springs!
I would not recommend running 40s on a Jeep with no lift, but dang it looks sweet!
I will be installing a set of Rock Krawler 3.5" Triple rate springs and im excited to see how they perform compared to the Metalcloak springs ive been running for the past few years.
I might even drop down to 2.5" springs depending on how i feel about the 3.5". Once i figure out my lift height i will start working on the DIY long arm build for you guys!
New Inner Fender liners are from Hyline Offroad! www.hylineoffroad.com/jeep_pa...
I mentioned that my next video will be the hydrualic bumpstop video... and i actually just finished up that video today, and man they are sweet!! Stay tuned for that video soon.
lockedoffroad.com/ for your bumpstops, 10% off with the code JKbumps.
I used the 2.0x2" pin bumpstops and the threaded.
www.tmrcustoms.com/jk-rear-hy... for the rear hydraulic bumpstop mounts!
Stay tuned for more cool Jeep mod videos, i have a lot planned with little time haha.
I am still trying to plan some offroad group trips for this summer! This year i will be mainly doing east coast locations, so let me know in the comments where you would like to go!
Untill next time,

Why do I always end up adding to my TO DO List after watching your Videos Ben? Leave the B-Locks as is. I think its such a 'clean' look.
YES another DIY video series! 3 link and long arm kit.
Bring it! 😁
Don’t paint the wheels. Looks great the way it is now!!!
I need to admit that I began following your channel do to your Old Town Road parody. I am loving your content thus far. My wife watches with me and your little girls are so funny when they both took off from you in the video with the camera in their faces.🤣
Keep up the great work and awesome content. Looking forward to watching more of your channel. Aloha from O'ahu, Hawaii!🤙🏾
Thanks for watching! I try to do a variety of content to keep everyone entertained, informed, and inspired!
Nice dude. Get the rainex wiper fluid, that stuff is awesome. Every time you clean your windshield, you apply another thin coat of it. I never have to rainex my windshield anymore.
Where I live in Georgia, wiper fluid can be hard to come by, at least wiper fluid good for below freezing temperatures. It's all summer fluid here. I would not use it in my jeep (when I finally get one). That's becuase when it does get below freezing, the wiper fluid will freeze, and any fluid in the line can split the line open as it freezes. That can be an expensive fix in some cases, not sure how expensive it would be on a jeep though.
I wanna see those monster valves👌
Leave your Beadlocks as is. They look awesome like they are. Your daughters are adorable and it was hysterical how they ran from the idea of doing a Jeep Mod.
Two thumbs up on the 3 link. I designed a 3 link front and rear for my CJ5.
I'm a new subscriber and I like your videos man. Your JK looks pretty awesome. Congrats and thanks for sharing.
I love that video you made about the old town road it’s really good also I love your Jeep am definitely subscribed and continue watching now am thinking about getting a Jeep 😍
Love the videos . I have my Dana 60 and 14 bolt in the barn with Barnes trusses just waiting for time to do it. Very interested in seeing your long arm video. Keep up the great work!
Loved this video! It looks crazy!
Finally catching up on your videos jeep looks great
Peep the seven slot hat! Sweet build! I’m definitely using your videos to build my tons for my YJ.
The jeep looks freaking cool like that. 👍
Comment to push the video!! Cool to see the 40’s on stock springs. I wouldn’t do that either, but still cool to see. Keep up the good work!
Great content. Also love that you’re so responsive on your Facebook group.
Great video man!
Love all the video
Looks good like that!
I love Ollie's. Awesome video
Super cool mods 👍
Commenting to help your videos! I've been thinkin of the 3.5" Rock Crawlers myself. Currently running 4" Teraflex.
I’ll be sure to do an update video on the springs!
The wipe new for plastic works good. Been on my stock plastic for 2 yrs now w/o a 2nd application and plastic still looks like new
Nice crocs!!
O yeah and about the inner fenders, I have the ACE ones and they are supper nice, but after seeing the ones Litebright got with the dzus fasteners I’m super jealous of those. Makes it super easy to take them off so you can get in there to work on stuff.
I would like those if they made some with vents, honestly the inner fenders need vents to help let heat out
Gray and silver looks dope.
Looks great monster jk
Hi Ben, nice Crocs!
I’ve got 14 Enduro joints on my custom XJ with a double triangulated rear and 3 link front and it flexes crazy good and actually rides decent on the street with FOX 20” air shocks on the rear and springs/shocks on the front... it is a Frankenstein with 38” Mud Grapplers on home built Beadlocks, JK is running 37”s on stock arms for now but the fox shocks help!
Ben your rambles are hilarious! Just a normal dude going on and on.
I have to stop myself before I make a 2 hour video 😂
love the rainex stuff. i used on my old tj, rarely used the wipers
I’m a fan of the rock krawler products. They’re local to me (within a few hours) and I have one of their kits on my jku and love it. Also I would definitely keep the wheels the way they are.
Graphics look amazing on this video is it just me?
Same kind of thing has happened to me. Love the info about lifts as I think most people do it without the right info
New subscriber!
I've been looking at the clayton 3 link but its expensive. Cant wait for your diy 3 link
Good ol' Ollies....sometimes you get something good...sometimes you don't.
Let me know when you get a chance to go wheeling again. I'm a couple hours from Uwharrie. I'm up in NE NC a lot (my home town is there). Love to see your Jeep in person.
My 3 y/o loves going off road. I know about finding time to do it though.
*Opens Rainbrella box
Ben -"No need to read directions!"
*Proceeds to read directions
Lol. You crack me up, Ben.
Great vids. Go with the gray wheels. I am not a fan of polished aluminum or chrome on the wranglers. They will look great. Take it easy.
You had some audio sync issues toward the end of the vid.
I'm running the hyline inner fenders too and love how they look.
Croc gang!
I think the gray wheels on the JK look good!
My RK 2.5" springs paired with Fox 2.0 Performance shocks = match made in heaven.
Agreed. I run the same set up.
I'm very anxious to see how the RK tri-rate springs compare to the MC dual-rate.
I like the contrast of the gray and aluminum. Like you said breaks the aluminum color up.
The gray looks badass if that’s what you are looking for but if not then keep it as is
I say leave the wheels how they are! Also, I’d like to see more videos of actual off roading! I definitely like the install and review videos though! I ended up picking up the Barnes aluminum tie rod and then just got the drag link as well since my old one needed to be replaced.
I’d love to hit the trails more! But with me and Cassie working full time jobs, twin daughters, and living 5+ hours away from any trail it’s hard to find time to wheel often
I decided to go with Artec for my 1-ton swap kit, mainly because I hate theft, and Barnes stole Artec's original design (they are going to patent their latest Apex design), and was hoping my 3.5" Rubicon Express springs would enough lift since Artec recommends at least 5" of lift, and this reinforced my decision. Nice job. I see we both went with progressive rate springs. I broke my neck in the Army when I was 18 thanks to the stupidity of another 'soldier', so really sensitive to a harsh ride.
I prefer single rate springs. The duel rates seem more like a spacer at the top 2 inches when mounted
That is true, however when your axle drops, that pack of stacked springs opens up. So it creates a “longer spring” and also continues to keep a continuous pressure on the frame
You could paint the bead lock ring black if you paint the wheels silver/gray
Did you decide on the lift yet? I know the front truss adds some lift. I plan on running 37 but wondered what lift you ended up with your 40s
So the water leak above the front drivers door is common huh?? I didn’t know that but our JK does it too...even the roof seems to be filled with water but I can’t seem to find where it’s coming in at. I like the lower look of the Jeep and should help with its performance. The hydraulic bump stops seem pretty sweet. Bummer about the drone. Nice job Ben loving the vids bud👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The roof water noise is an easy fix! Take the freedom panels off, there is a little weep hole on one side, flip the top around until you find the hole and water will come out, last time I did that I had about a cup of water in them 😂
JK Gear and Gadgets awesome!!! Thanks Ben!! Just got me a Father’s Day project. Lol. I’ll definetly check it out. Thanks again!!
Ben thanks a bunch man!! Pulled the freedom panels off and drained quite a bit of water out of them today!!lol really appreciate the tip it worked great!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Happy Father’s Day to ya bud.
Do you set your rear axle to the rear? Or do you keep the lenght of you factory controll arms? Thx
What do you think about the Yokohama Geolander X-MT? Ride, Mileage and grip on rock?
Do not paint the wheels! I'm wanting to get a set of RK 3.5" springs. I'll be curious to see how you like them. Keep the vids coming.
Sick so stanced like that with no lift .... throw air bags on it to keep it like that and rise up like 6 inches with the air ride
i really liked that parody cap am
Niceeee!!
1st Another good video Ben !! Not like a typical one from you but always learn a thing or two and appreciate it
2nd being im not rich !! Lmao id love to work something out with ya on your old parts !!! Give a 2nd review on them too but from a different point of view since im kinda new to the offroad Jeep life compared to you !!!
If your local to Va give me a holler! I try not to ship parts out
Nope Va. Is atleast 6 hours away for me being im right outside Pittsburgh but naturally id pay the shipping / get things set up to ship so all you had to do was drop off but id even drive down and back occasionally if needed budz !!! Could always make it a wheelin trip !!! Lol
Bro nice shirt I want one 🤙
Great video as always!!! Why don't you like the DV-8 company I have their front bumper and love it just curious
I'd be curious as well. If it's because of the inner fenders, by using sheet metal screws is the best way to keep them attached. I have Artec inners and had to do the same.
What is the best 2.5 inch lift for a Jeep like this? Budget wise though
If you want your windshield to repel water. Wax it with normal car wax. Its a trick we used with mini trucks. Because we shaved the wipers off.
How do you like the Hyline Fenders since you've had them? (Looking for some for my 18' JK Rubicon)
Nice hat Ben
What are you doing with the 4.5s. I have 3.5 mc springs. Looking to go a little higher
Just wondering, why don’t you get coilovers and instead going for the RK springs. I also have a RK lift, but was thinking about getting coilovers.
Kinda like the lower 40 concept with less cutting I like the lcg look
I'm trying to find some new Springs for my JK right now I have a 4" lift but it rides like I have cement in the tires The rock crawler Springs looks like they will perform nicely plus I have the rock crawler 1.75" tie rod. I'm out in my little work shop right now it's about one in the morning, The past couple weeks I fell asleep underneath my Jeep probably about 5 times and my girl woke me up the next morning But I got my Bumper on put my fenders on last night few other things I'm just trying to get it finished well it'll never be finished you know that but I'm just trying to get rid of this pile of parts, no more boxes in my kitchen. Oh that reminds me I should probably make a video I forgot I can make videos again. Nice work as always Ben keep the videos coming and Hey if you ever come up North hit me up. I wish we could a met up with you in Virginia but we didn't get a chance to go I didn't have her finished in time.
do you run 40's in the winter? I'm in canada and just wanna know if 40s in the winter are workable
Love my RK coils,,
did you have to cut the body or did you have to get longer adjustable control arms?
Great!
What front bumper do you have? I really like it
It’s the Pritchett canyon frame chop from 7slotcustoms. I did a video on it a while back, it’s a great bumper
Have you checked out Evo Off-road evolution? And King shocks and bump stops? Bad ass stuff
These are built just as well as king bumpstops, at a lower price. These also come prefilled with nitrogen, where the kings come empty and you have to find a shop to fill them
But yes, evo makes some great stuff
Would love to hear if you can drop to 2.5" springs with the 1 ton and 40's
With these axles, the best fit is 3.5” and up. Otherwise you run into some big clearance issues, yes you can fix that, but a lot more custom work
Do i spy a mini Fat Angel sticker on the tool box in your garage? Lol
You know it!!!
Interested in seeing the outcome of the new springs.
Got them on today.. will be talking about them in an upcoming video
I would love the DV8's if you are getting rid of them!
It looks like your Jeep has thunder thighs!!
RC Bashing Studios hahah best comment
Thanks!!
Hey man I noticed you no longer have the front overhead Molle that you installed a few videos ago! I was thinking of getting one, did you run into issues with it? Before I waste my money, thanks
I still have it installed lol
You can see it at 2:56
Black b cool the silver bead lock will pop more
Not in the immediate future mind you; possibly the next 18 months, I'm considering going to 40's. Your title says no lift. No lift from stock? Or no extra lift from whatever you'd already done? Because I watched another video right afterward where you mentioned a 4.5" lift. Mine has a mild lift, most likely a leveling kit. What else did you have to do to get 40's? I've seen some videos where people talk about body work mostly on the rear.
what's the ideal lift for 40's? what lift system would you use for best handling?
3.5" or 4.5" i prefer Rockkrawler, teraflex or metalcloak
@@JKGearandGadgets very good, thank you.
Like the steel it
Why skip the teraflex speed bumps? I'm going to do hydraulic bump stops soon and teraflex speed bumps were one of the options. Genuinely curious.
Because they aren’t hydraulic bumpstops haha.
They are foam
@@JKGearandGadgets oh crap didnt know.
Wuuuuuuaao this video answear my question my freind so maybe 3”.5 o 4” lift kit do the job for 37” o 40” thanks again great videos also you have a lot of knowledge my freind you could instal o got an shop for TJ and JKs
Did you measure ride height before you removed MC so we can see if there is truly only a 1" difference? I put 4.5" MC on my LJ and forgot to measure my 3" Teraflex first..... #rookie
How often do you have to re-apply the RAIN-X?
No idea; this is my first time using using it. However I would assume it would only last a few months depending on your wiper use
You think with a 3.5 lift with 488 gears should push 40s fine?
With the 3.6 it will be manageable
What wheel and tire combo is your 40's with Bead lock wanting to go that direction with mine running 33's now
Vision wheel beadlocks amd Yokohama XMTs
@@JKGearandGadgets thanks again really enjoy your videos the beadlocks backspace and sizes you are running
These are 17”s with 4.25” backspace, but if your not running one ton axles you will want 3.5” or 3.75” backspacing
What front fenders are those?
makes me think ok the new stingray gray
what % tint are you running?
If you're riding on bump stops, you may have more static compression on those stock coils. Get someone to measure their stock coils in their buckets and compare to yours.
To bad you didn't measure the static height of the MetalCloaks before removal and then do a static comparison to the RockKrawlers installed.
To reflect on the inner liners interference, you're replacing them?
You've got a welder, grinder with cutting wheel....just cut out that angle in the DV8 liner, flip it around and weld it back up. Don't forget to place a liner light in it as well...
They are aluminum, so sadly I can’t weld them.
What do you do with all your old parts? Do you just store them or do you sell them?
i sell some and i keep some, i have a huge stockpile of parts lol. i try to sell local if possible that way i dont have to deal with shipping
@@JKGearandGadgets Help a stock brotha out lol
How much for your old springs?
being crazy now you could take your old spring or springs and a ride on animal and make a rocking horse or dino its what ever
My kids would love that haha
How come you’re going to run the hydraulic bump stops?
they absorb a ton of energy when your jeep bottoms out, allows you to do more high speed offroad stuff
What year is your Jeep? My dad has a 2007 model
2010
