  • During this test drive, I had the occasion to test the menu, different driving modes, the 360 camera and EV settings.
    In general, this car is pretty impressive in its design and the robust build it has. The only negative side I could find is the lack of clarity in the menu.

    Finally a video of the new 25e - looking forward to get mine in may. How is the acceleration in electric only mode? Is it different than with the support of the petrol mode?
    And how do you feel about the AI to change between the motors?

      I am happy for you, you will not regret it for sure.
      In full electric, yes it is different. The torque is immediately available as It’s an electric motor. But it is less powerful than with both motors.
      The switching between both motors felt natural and pretty responsive, compared to other brands.

    Excellent video, I ordered an identical car, the color is beautiful, especially in real life, I'm only bothered by its consumption for now, it says combined 1 l per 100 km, electric range 80 km with a full battery and finally, how satisfied are you with the complete car, looks great to me

    • @issman
      @issman  Před rokem +3

      Thank you for watching it 😊
      Indeed, the color is really great in real life! It reminds me of the Pure Frozen Grey but in metallic!
      I used to have the F48 X1 and compared to it, the overall feeling this car brings is far more superior. The finish of the interior is better, the car is somewhat dynamic and the exterior really makes it look like a mini X5!
      For the consumption, if you play the game, meaning you recharge the car often, you could consume very little (in that case 1L/100km seems realistic). Especially if you have a relaxed driving style and you drive in the city mostly.

    Great video, thank you! I currently drive a 335i, 306 Hp. I’m considering the 30e. Both have similar power, but I’m afraid about downgrading from a 6 cylinder to 3 cylinder (power, response, noise,..,) 😅. Do you think I will regret or should I go ahead?

      Thanks for watching it and the feedback!
      I am happy it helps people making a choice.
      Indeed an X1 30e has similar perfs to a 335i. However there are 2 drawbacks I believe will make it hard to decide: the weight of the X1 and the noise of the 3 cylinders engine.
      The extra torque and pure HP will maybe make it up for the added weight but this is not guaranteed.
      I would really advise to test drive it first!
      If you do, please let us know how it goes

      BMW is following the trend where buttons tend to disappear! As for the iDrive, I think having a touch screen is a good alternative. Although it makes it look messy quite quickly 😅

    • @Y3MINEM
      @Y3MINEM Před rokem +1

      So my X1 25e has touch screen, voice input, and the classic iDrive wheel right by the gear selector. It’s easier than reaching for the screen when you’re driving.
      And I know I will miss the physical buttons when it’s time to upgrade. 1 takes me home, 2 takes me to work, 3 is my favorite digital radio station, etc.
      Voice control isn’t always accurate, and reaching for the screen takes your concentration off the road.
      But, guess we’ll get uses to it. Enjoy the car, and hopefully it’s easy for you to use all the features. 😊

      Yes, the transmission is the same 7-Speed dual clutch for all the models (petrol, diesel and hybrid).

    Nice, this seems like the first X1 PHEV out here on youtube! How would you compare the X1 25e in general with the 3-series you drove earlier? (not just ride comfort like someone asked in your previous comment). Does the X1 feel as good with build quality/materials/performance as the 3 series? Or can you still feel that a 3-series is "a step above" a X1 :)?

    • @issman
      @issman  Před rokem +2

      Thanks for watching the video!
      The 3 series is way more dynamic of course because it is not an SUV.
      In terms of build quality: both were in M Line and as far as I could feel, the build is slightly less enjoyable in the X1.
      Now do not get me wrong: it is a high quality build, there is no annoying plastic noise or cracks.
      However, the 3-series is a bit above.
      In terms of performance, the X1 is quite dynamic for a hybrid (thus heavy) SUV.

    Hi! Nice video!
    I would like to ask how did you find the power of the car. Is it “sufficient” for the extra battery weight? Moreover, how is the performance of the car when the battery is almost depleted and cannot contribute to the thermal engine?

    • @issman
      @issman  Před rokem +7

      Hi grigoriskaltsas5530,
      Thanks for the comment. This is my first POV driving video. Happy to know it is not that bad 😄
      Concerning the power: The petrol engine alone has 136 HP, in combination with the electric motor, we have 245 HP.
      When both are working together, the performance is pretty decent. Although it is more impressive on the X1 30e.
      EDIT based on the feedback received: The battery never dies. The petrol engine consumes more to keep the battery at a minimum level and keep the AWD functions active.

      I have the F48 model, which has the same petrol engine as the 25e, and I’m interested in moving to the 25e or 30e. The performance is my main concern, and if I understood well, your suggestion is 30e, right?

      @issman  Před rokem +1

      @@grigoriskaltsas5530 My pleasure!
      This is correct, I would suggest the 30e for performance as it is way better.
      But beware: if your battery is dead here, it is approximately the same result. You end up with a 150 HP engine...

    • @issman

      I find the 3-series a little bit more comfy to be honest. The 3-series I tested had no M interior though and leather seats.
      The X1 I tested had the leather seats and they were still comfortable.

    What are the 2 best & 2 worst parts of the car ?

    • @issman
      @issman  Před rokem +1

      Thank you for watching it 😊
      In my opinion, the 2 best parts are: 1) The overall finish of the interior. You can feel a difference compared to the previous generation. 2) The driving feeling of the car, it's dynamic for a hybrid SUV.
      2 worst parts: 1) The infotainment menus are not user friendly, too many icons make it difficult to get simple things done. 2) Changing the driving mode (sport mode for example) is not as quick as on other cars.

      @@EAlex37 with empty batteries you are at ~10 L/100 km.
      Now you should keep in mind that the figures I give are not from an eco efficient driving.
      It is possible to run completely on the electric motor up to 135 km/h. This would make your consumption drop to around 2 L/100 km if you have a full battery.
      However, if you do solicit the petrol engine by pushing hard on the gas pedal, your consumption will rise quickly.
