@Dan Evertt I was there for only the first summer when Apex fully took over. I put in my two weeks around the middle to end of June.
He deff used the right words under the pressure of the owners being in front of him however I don’t think Kim should have been involved in the conversation with hall. Such a high chance of jeopardizing the opportunity to sign the guy
I know we got him, but every time Kim spoke, I was like “OH NO! DONT BLOW IT!” He didn’t say much & she managed to talk over him twice.
I think Kim showed off her business acumen in the meeting. The fact that the hockey guy (Adams) asked her what to text the agent back and was reminded by the owner to refer to him as Hallsy shows she knows what she is doing. Not sure about Terry.
They edited the conversation. It's not clear how he responded to Kim.

Except the Sabers are a fairly weathly Org. minus the Pandemic. Not really an underdog for contract finances, but certainly on talent tier lists.

"we're missing that big one, and that big one would be you." that's literally the exact opposite of what this team needs to become an above .500 team. Scoring wasn't the problem. Everywhere else was! Still is the problem unless they make more moves.

Getting Hall was one of the most electric feelings as a Devils fan a few years ago. I’m so stoked for Buffalo and it’s fans - you guys deserve this.

this is great filming and i love kevyn adams he has had an insanely good offseason. idk about everyone but a lot of people had doubts on him. what a job he has done thus far
I dont think it was doubts in him personally, it was more that the pegulas gutted their staff a week or two after saying they had full confidence in that staff. Then hired a first time gm from within. It just all looked like they were trying to be cheap and now really knowing what they were doing. It does appear to be off to a great start tho
@@kevinborchers3522 they probably just felt like blowing up the front office as opposed to the team; which can work when pulled off in this manner.

great comment. Buffalo address the exact opposite of their team needs. Goaltending is atrocious, Defense has zero NHL-ready depth, and their bottom 6 forward group is worst then Ottawa. Hall is not what you need, you already have a star lol

If the Sabres win the Stanley cup in my lifetime I will cry like a child. I diddnt cry over the passing of my dog or at my wedding. These players should understand that I'm not the only one that feels that way about this team.

Listening to Terry say that just shows how terrible their judgment and assessment of the organization is. People like to give Adams credit for brining in Hall+Staal, and they did look good on paper, but what the hell was he thinking when it comes to D and Goaltending? The same exact backend as last season and they're producing the same results. Then not adding any real gritty or hard working guys, they would get swept in round 1 with the soft game they play now. Yet they believed they were not just good enough to make the playoffs, but contend for a cup? Clown show. I want to like Adams and give him a shot, but he isn't the guy. We need a real President of Hockey Ops who knows how to build a winner, and they need to have complete control of the team. Until we get that person to bring in the right, fresh people we'll never get out of this rut.
I'm coming to this late but if they had this same kind of fervor for a top 30 goalie, I'd have been just (or maybe even more) as thrilled. We can't get to a playoff level with our current pair unless we have six Doug Harvey's on defense.

Watching this part, I thought, "The Sabres reached out to get Eakins? Didn't they know?" Fascinating to see how this Sabres team was put together. Listening to Krueger, watching Krueger in the last Zoom call, I begin to understand how a multi-million-dollar sports organization gets conned. "Our culture". "This is the piece that makes us elite". "We are built to be this good for a long time" (I think that's what Krueger said).

The only bad part about this video is the fact Steve Dangle's face is in it.
Slight contradiction when talking about Hall's contract. Feel like Adams said after the signing was initially announced they wanted to do long term with him but Taylor was hesitant. This video says the opposite.
He said he the one year deal does not indicated they don’t want Taylor here long term. I don’t think they’re financially in a spot to pay someone like they did Skinner without knowing for sure that he’s going to be a big difference in them winning.

Nothing but respect for buffalo. Taylor hall on the other hand in my opinion is overrated. He hasn't been able to play more than handful of full seasons in his career , and there is something to be said about when he joined the yotes he is a diva that hurts moral and chemistry.
8m to play a 3 month season, hopefully thats pro rated.. I hope he stays. The rumored start date is early February... Thats when AHL starts.
The NHL still projects a January 1st start date.

Why is a bad team signing a good player if they don’t see him in the future(short term contract)
Because the salary cap didn’t increase. The cost of long term contracts are much greater, and locking in a long term contract impacts our ability to sign our other players like Dahlin.
I love this series, but listening to Krueger talk about how great it’s going to be with Hall and Eichel is cringeworthy. They each scored 2 more goals for the Sabres before they were both traded.

@Dan Evertt Seattle has plenty of cap to take him, he’s a good player and would be a good veteran for Seattle. We need Hoffman to make a cup run this year
@Dan Evertt he could be on their top 6. He will never be on buffalos top 6 because they have too many other younger players at a higher level. Okoposo may be drafted if he’s unprotected
Seattle would only take Okposo if the Sabres made a deal to take him. They'd probably have to give up a high draft pick. Maybe the 1st rounder. Which if we can get Hall long term and another player for that money it's worth it, but I don't see Seattle taking Okposo. Unless they need a big contract to make it to the CAP floor or get something more.

Skinner staal Hoffman
Trade away two of those bottom 6 players to gain some cap space and bring up cozens, quinn, Thompson and sign mike Hoffman
I know Cozens is pretty much a shoe-in for the opening night roster, but is Quinn NHL-ready? I’m not disagreeing with you, I just genuinely don’t know. If he is ready to make that jump, by all means get him on the team, I just don’t want them to tank his development by bringing him in too soon
@@MaxtheMonster13 I only thought of that as an option because if we signed Hoffman we wouldn’t have any cap left so we would need to fill the bottom 6 with cheap players and quin is on a 3 year entry level with the potential to be good. However the top two lines would be producing every game so if cozens and Quin line connected that would even be more of a gift since they are cheap as well
