I just fixed my car today with your help!!! 100 times thank you! As a 20 year old female college student, I can say I did this with ease! Very detailed and worked perfectly. Saved myself $130, Thank you so much!!
Just wanted to let you know your video is still helping people. Was a pretty simple job thanks to you, and saved me from having to have a professional do the work. THANK YOU!
You're my hero!! I came out of Walmart & my back window was down! I think I can do this for sure...thanks so much. All the single ladies appreciate your video🥳
Well . . . I got the inside panel off the door . . . plus the speaker and latch rod . . . took one look and decided to go get a doughnut and cup of coffee. Found your video on how to finish up the job . . . and just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. I am very mechanically inclined . . . so I would have figured it out . . . but you probably saved me an hour . . . plus I got to eat my doughnut in peace. Thanks . . . may God bless.
My rear driver side window was down on my 05 Liberty renegade and wouldn’t roll up. I found the tab on that plastic piece that moves the window broke off. Your video walked me through taking the door panel off and finding that out. I ordered that piece and when it gets here I’m going to replace it. Ordered the piece for 10 bucks. Appreciate the video! Without your help I would have taken it to a shop where who knows how much I would have spent
Thank you sir. I watched a lot a videos on this subject before I found yours. Everybody else left off at least three critical details that you included and explained very well. When you are giving directions you cannot leave out even one single detail. Some people can fix things, but only truly intelligent people can explain how to fix things well enough to actually teach others.
Thank God for you and this video! It took me about 1.5 hours to remove the old regulator and 45 minutes to install the new one. New one cost $54 on Amazon (though there were cheaper options). I had to rewatch some sections but your instructions (and doing it one handed while filming!) were extraordinary! I had some trouble unclipping the door handle mechanism and was concerned when my original regulator had an extra cable off of the one end - apparently not an issue! It took a little time to get the new regulator inside the door properly. Just took some patience. Thanks again!
This is such a great tutorial, for me it's the front driver door so I needed to do a couple extra steps and the regulator is mounted a little differently but still works perfectly and was pretty quick and simple
Thanks so much! Watched the video over and over. Your explanation was spot on. Took me longer than 40 minutes but this was the first time for me. Saved maybe 300 usd. Got the whole assembly on Amazon for 65. Last one the shop charged 350. Thanks again....
Thanks for posting this DIY, very helpful! My door regulator motor was fine, the metal clip had come off the window guide clip and I was able to get a zip tie around the clip to hold it in place. Saved me $100 for the kit at O’Reillys. Thanks again!
Hi Peter...can you explain further what you mean by "zip tie around the clip"? Before I order the part I will reopen the door panel now that this video explains how to remove the motor and regulator.
@@sallybeck4783 in my situation, the motor worked fine. The window had just popped out and fallen within the door. There is a clip attached to the bottom of the window and there is a metal stud that pops into the plastic guide that holds the window to go up & down. I was able to get a zip tie around that particular connection so that it doesn’t pop out again. Hope that helps!
@@PeterMarshall1969 Got it...thought you meant the plastic piece but now that I read your question it is obvious what you meant...thank you. Need to investigate further but waiting for warm weather (someday) - using wood shims currently.
@@PeterMarshall1969 I know your comment was 3 years ago, but this is just the answer I was looking for. As the ball keeps popping out of my neighbors plastic clip and I just couldn't figure how to rigged this up, since the regulator is new. I'll try this. Wish I had a visual of what you did though.
I am no mechanic but I was TOTALLY able to do this with just two tools! It did take me more than an hour because I kept backing up the video. The only part that confused me was pulling out the mechanism but I listened to the video to the end and saw that I had to make sure to push the knob on the glass was dislodged. Once that happened it was as simple as he made it out to be. So awesome,
Thank you so much for this - it was spot on and helped make me successful. This saved me a ton of money and also made me confident that i could handle and manage the job. Things for me were exactly as you said (and showed) they would be. Excellent, complete, professional, and right to the point! Bravo! BTW - we have a 2005 Jeep Liberty - It was the right rear passenger window that went, and we got the part from Amazon for around $50. Nothing else needed.
Excellent Video. It just so happens I just bought a 2005 Jeep Liberty Regrade. Last owner kinda forgot to mention the right rear door window doesn't work. Plus left me with 4 bald tires. Even with that my little Jeep still runs and drives nice.oh one more thing I have to replace the radiator cooling fan already have one ordered. I dont want to be the guy I bought Jeep from when Karma catches up with him. They even took the radio out. Lol.. thanks again for this video.
I am so appreciative for your video! It really helped me! I have no mechanical skills, so this was me just winging it. *I did have to pry the strip along the top of the door panel away so that I could remove the panel. There are pins along the top like the ones along the sides & bottom that weren't mentioned, so had to pop them off also. Thank you for sharing your knowledge w/ the rest of us!!! I had no clue before watching!!
Wow, very well done video. Thanks a lot. Saved me a lot of money and aggravation. Amazing that you did nearly the whole job one handed. I had more trouble getting the regulator out maybe because I loosened the bolts. I'm subscribing and hope to not have to see more of your videos, but if needed you are the go to guy!
Thank you sir you are a gem I am now going to fix my sister's rear driver's side last time she paid a garage 300 to fix the driver's side front! I have definitely liked and subscribed, you deserve it!
Thank you this info is just what I needed to repair my front passenger window. It’s great to have this info available. Again thank you very much, Bill from Kelowna, BC
Thanks that window strip down helped me out! I was a lucky so far, the window stuck down on Liberty 2005. An ammeter showed power to window plug in door both ways. Once the connections were cleaned it worked perfect again so far lol So worth checking leads for power before replacing Nigel Uk in Florida
You said "...flat head screwdriver," when referencing the screw behind the door handle. Surprise, that is a third tool. Yeah, I'm kind of like that, but very useful video.
Well that's just the easiest way, you can still do it with a phillips just wedge it in. Or a stick that's strong enough and fits. So you trying to be that guy who corrects people just makes you look stupid in real situations.
Well done video ! Mine failed because of the regulator you showed was stripped out and the cable was left hanging. eBay had it for $6.70. Screwing metal into plastic another genius idea, surprised it lasted as long as it did . Make sure when you go back together with it, that you get the pin in the regulator firmly and push the clip in all the way where it holds the window. I also greased the regulator track and soaked the inner cable with PB blaster and it freed right up . Try it several times before putting your plastic barrier cover and panel back on .
5:40 I've done this job two times before but got stuck on how to remove the wiring harness from the motor. This movie explained that the red clip needs to be moved first. Thank you for the assistance.
When searching for a replacement regulator I've noticed that there are two different designs for the Liberty. There is this design with the cable and then there is the coil in a plastic tube design. They appear to be interchangeable as long as the replacement has the correct sliding bracket that attaches to the glass. I'm not sure if one design is superior over the other as they both do break.
My liberty 2002 3.7 has the coil in a plastic tube. Mine was broke off the plastic slide bracket. Once I got the new bracket I sprayed Panther Piss (PB Blaster) inside the coil tubing and it freed right up after plugging the motor back in and pushing window button up down several times. Then I could screw the cable back in the bracket. :>)
