    I like it. Good, clean look. I'm liking the drop in liners over spray in. Spray in liners are to much prep, big mess, in the end it's a 50/50 shot if it'll protect your bed. With a drop in I could see 1 person doing this in under an hour. I agree truck beds should have protection if nothing else get a bed mat. It seems like spray in bedliners are more to show off to your buddies at the boat ramp. Drop in bed liners are the way to go. If you don't want your cargo to slide around STRAP IT DOWN.

    @johnhall4427 Před 27 dny

    And one other thing. From what i can tell from anylising the gears in the transfer case, it would seem that the large gear in there has a way to drag fresh oil from the bottom of the case up to that upper chamber by way of a channel in the case housing metal. And there is a entrance hole up top where the path leads to. And that hole goes into that separate chamber where the clutch disc sits. Cuz i always wondered how any fresh fluid gets up into that chamber. Cuz its a small chamber. So it wouldnt surprise me if all your shudder went away just by only using that lower fill plug. Cuz there is no way in hell to access that upper level 3rd fill hole unless you detach the drive shaft and flex disc. So much simpler doing it by way of lower fill hole.

  • @johnhall4427
    @johnhall4427 Před 27 dny

    Mercedes the company, not the dealer, recommends trying the fluid change to fix the shudder. And says that if it doesnt work then dealer is to put in a whole new transfer case 🤔. Quite a huge dichotomy in those two bits of advice. That weird advice alone should have one scratching their head in wonder as to what isnt mercedes really telling us. The shudder actually comes from the upper chamber ontop of the transfer case. Youll see a different fill plug way up at the top. But drive shaft has to be removed and it will slide back into the back half of the drive shaft so as to give room. Inside that chamber up top is a single clutch type disc that looks like a slightly small version of a CD music disc. Its sandwiched between two spring loaded pressure plates with a set of planetary gears up in there. Theres a vertical cover there that also can be removed and the whole planetary gears and disc can come out. But no need to do all that nonsense. When fluid gets REAL old that disc doesnt slide so well anymore and thus the "shudder". But just like you said, what people dont know and what mercedes doesnt explain that after you put in fresh fluid, it takes a really long time for the new fluid to work its way in between that disc and front/back pressure plate surface. Ive done the job 3 times. And i can tell you, at least a full week of driving and maybe more. Plus doing some slow 360's can help speed up the procees. I had very bad shudder and at first the 360's would make it go away for about a minute. Then it would come back. That gave me hope. But gotta hang in there cuz after a full week of driving with hideous shudder it all went away and hasnt been back in years. Reason i had to do the job more than once was because i clipped a curb hard once while making a turn and i think that kinda stopped the rear wheel for a split second and as i continued to drive i had that shudder back. I believe it made the transfer case clutch disc jump a bit causing a dry spot on it. But looking back i realize i didnt need to redoo the fluid again. All i had to do is keep driving for the week till that already new fluid worked itself back into that dry spot. Well hope this helps someone out there.

      my w205 4matic gives vibration at low speeds, and while turning the car or doing 360s at low speeds again, gave an annoying vibration. I changed the fluid 3 days ago today, and it started to give vibration again, so my mechanic checked today, he said I couldn't see the fluid but where it leak? there Was no oil leak signs, but the oil was gone, so again we applied 600ml oil to it, and again sound disappeared (360s makes slight noises still) this problem haunts my dreams..

      Injectors like other parts wear out over time. They can still be working and not performing as well as they should. In this case the worn injectors were causing a rough idle and lowered performance. New injectors can help return an engine to like new performance.
