- In today's lesson we'll be taking an in-depth look at the Layers panel in Affinity Designer and going over how you can best utilize it. In Affinity Designer layers function differently than they do in other applications. This tutorial will seek to demystify this feature in case you're a new user and are used to how layers function in other vector environments, such as Illustrator and Inkscape.
Want to learn more about how Affinity Designer works? Check out my Affinity Designer Master Class - a comprehensive series of over 60 videos where I go over every tool, feature and function and explain what it is, how it works, and why it’s useful: logosbynick.com/repeat-patter...

FINALLY!!! I found you!! Great resources!!
I now have v2 and very interested in your master class
Excellent! I subbed!
Great video! Is there any way to apply effects to entire groups/layers in Designer? Such that any new object/art drawn in that layer 'inherits' those effects (like, layered strokes, etc.)
Great video
thanks. someone is making videos for the affinity as well
This was a good lesson. Thank you. I'm wondering if you can help. Every time I move an object, it moves behind the colored background. CAN YOU HELP?
Trying do make a cap mock up but reallty having a difficult time figuring out the best way to do it, not good at doing layers or masks. Any help would be appriciated?
Great explanation. I think it’s so confusing and irregular explained different places in the manual! Only the layers menu should be the layers panel, right?
Can you send me a link to your Affinity Designer Master Class. I would like to read about it. Thank you!
I just switched to Affinity Designer and I have trouble finding the option to merge the layers. Any ideas?
Great lesson, but I'm still confused about "layer" and "group", they can both contain multiple elements, seem like the only difference is I can directly click on an object in a "layer", but if it's in a "group", I will always click on the whole group.
im second!
