The best reason for cross band repeat ever. Lazy Boy + Beer + 1Watt Ht to cross band repeater = happiness
Even though you make utterly unforgivable mistakes like these, you can feel happy knowing I got my license maybe two weeks ago in large part by getting excited about the hobby from the content on your channel.
I’ve had this radio for nearly six months, and just discovered it can do this. Also discovered that since it can crossband, it’s also full-duplex. Made a few ISS repeater contacts from my tractor-trailer with it. Thanks!
100,000 subscribers. Well deserved, and about time. Keep up the quality content.
Great video. Very concise, to the point with a great demonstration!
Thank you so much! I just got my FTM-300D and was excited to get it up and running well. This was my go to Video to get me going. I just getting started in Ham, got my Tech not long ago and so far have accumulated mostly all Yeasu gear. FT-891 and FTM-300d for my base, VX-6R and FT-4X for my HT's. Put up Comet GP-15, MFJ-1868 Discone and MFJ-1779C Di-pole antennas set up. Have a Z-11Pro-II tuner on my FT-891. Just Getting Started! KE8UGS 73's....
Dude, thank you! I knew there had to be some way to utilize this functionality, I had no idea where to start and stumbled across this video. I didn’t get a manual with this purchase, so I’m glad I found this.
Thank you very much for this video! This is a feature I'm very much interested in and use all the time. Your efforts are much appreciated!!!
Well done Eric, nice rig.
I always wondered about if it could Crossband peat and repeat. Now I know. Glad I came across this video, I'm sold.
Very helpful! Thank you sir! It seems to work with repeaters too!
Hi,good 👍 informatie video, easy to understand, thanks from Rotterdam
Glad to know it has XBR capability. But it might help those wondering how to use this with a repeater or setup as a remote repeater for multiple HTs to comm. Aka: how to setup the HT with A/B bands UHF/UHF. A VFO to transmit and B VFO to listen. Maybe it’s just me because I live rural and camp remote. I won’t own an HT without dual receive and Mobile that does not cross band repeat. Such an amazing capability that’s so under used because I don’t think people really understand it that well. Not an easy concept especially for newbies. Maybe try another go on explaining/demo more in-depth for your viewers. Love your channel bu the way.
Yup, 4 months before I discovered that as well. Good video!
Thank you for your time and what you do " HAM FOR LIFE " oooh oh The Bands are Dead!
Eric and HRC rock!
Nice video. Thank you for sharing such a detailed instruction. Can I set FTM300dr as single frequency repeater as regular analog repeaters? Do I just need to set top and bottom frequency to same one in the cross band repeater model?
Eric, if you insert a " Tone " on those two frequencies, you can prohibit other operators from using uour radio as a repeater.
Thanks Eric...
Great comeback on the cross-band. Looking to get one for the office. KY4BDP LCARA
