so many chills throughout listening to this song-
love the line "E flat F G C G see me go through the shades" idk what i love so much about music notes as lyrics but i always find it to be clever. and its easy to distinguish albert's directing/editing style in the mv, his transitions (specifically love the the makeup to paint brush) are always so smooth. im glad they're working together creatively again :))
Yes his production style/aesthetic is very distinct! He shoud be working more as a producer (if he isn't already)!
i always find it kinda tacky. especially the fact that the last "C me go through the shades" seems completely separate and it just sounds like she says "me go through the shades." I thought maybe it was just a me thing but after showing it to my friends they all agree. The rest of the song, however, is so amazing.
@@koalaapocahh I kinda see where you're coming from, I found it to be just slighting jarring going from first listen and then watching the video cuz I def thought they would spell out see instead of C, but honestly when I listen to it without the lyrics i feel like it flows well to me. as for the tackiness, I find it's more meta than anything LOL...kinda like in hallelujah (the fourth, the fifth) or Christmas waltz (three quarter time), idk musical nods just seems like silly songwriting fun to me

lily is by far one of the kindest creators i think ive ever stumbled upon on this site. been a fan since the OG league days and honestly haven't regretted it a single second. I used to listen to the lilies way back on repeat (even going as far as to download them on my ipod LMAO), and im so happy to see how far she's come in song writing. love the forgiveness, healing, and willingness to move on. need more of that in the world when everyone's human and makes mistakes

Thank you for making such a endearing, warm and heart felt music video. Idk whats wrong with me rn or why i'm crying rn. I'm really really overwhelmed, I repress.....a LOT. And....bottle all my emotions to a point where i feel less and less everyday and its gotten so bad lately that i barely feel anything at all....i go all numb and funtion like a robot whose....mode is automatic....automatic smiles....automatic reactions whenever i'm studying or working...like a robot over and over and i feel....hollow and empty and i feel....like the only point of existing is to be useful and....be used by people to make them happy and its hard. It's really really hard. My OCD and perfectionist nature doesnt help....anxiety, anti depressents, sleeping pills doesnt help either..... nothing helps until just a...few seconds into the music video and my feeings started return gradually then halfway through the video its like....the dam inside me that was blocking the water..... the flood gates just....burst open and emotions came back at me in huge waves and i'm really overwhelmed rn i'm sorry. I went to the bathroom so no one can hear me and just cried throughout the whole video thinking....how does she know? How does Lily know what i'm going through? i dont talk to anybody about this. This helps....so thank u....thank u so much Lily, God bless u,...this helps a lot. I just...i cant even tell my emotions apart from each other rn and normally I'm good at organising, managing, arranging stuff but this....i'm such a mess. I push away my feelings and shove them down without realizing it because it feel less when I keep myself distracted with work or studies that demands more thinking and less emotions but.....im tired...i cant even...think. That painting at the end. That right there is how i feel rn. A blue heart...surrounded by darkness creeping in and i'm just.... holding this shit together somehow without falling apart. I'm so tired.....
I've been listening to this on repeat since it came out, the moment it starts playing I feel like I've been transported to a cloudy, cold beach somewhere. Your music is so comfy and calming, keep doing what you do!! 💙
Gosh darn my heart sank listening to this. Everything is so well thought out from production musically/cinematic-ally. Love the parts where its 4:3 in the verses and then it goes widescreen on the choruses; the transitions esp didn't drop a beat and fit so well through the course of the song with the lyrics and music. Sonically, the breakbeat is produced so well I can tell they did some tuning and caretaking on the low ends (at least to me they don't sound like a run off the mill drum samples). It hit me so hard when it came on the 2nd chorus, even though the visuals were all melancholy and waves, the drum section is dry and not sustained it's a great juxtaposition as well. The strings towards the end; killer-- that whole last segment reminded me of sad genshin trailers visually and mostly coz of the strings I think. Costume wise and set wise, its great they paid close attention to the color pallete/theory- reminds me of Lizzy McAlpine's visual album from 2 albums ago. It makes so much difference in keeping you locked in immersion. The acting is amazing too, I know Lily is usually a smiley person generally but it's great that she submits herself to her art. Just saying all this coz you mention these projects cost a lot to put out so just want to point out how much everything has improved at every project. Super cool, thanks for sharing your talent with everyone!!
