  • I interviewed one of the developers of the Polydrops Teardrop Trailer and got a personalized tour from the inside and out. This thing not only looks cool but has a design with efficiency in mind.

Great review and now am subscribed! My Ionic 5 AWD long range is on the boat heading for Canada and once I sell my Motorhome the Polydrops 17A1 with the 9.6KWH battery is my number one choice! I actually was doing up an order earlier on and requested that they use a more efficient Variable compressor DC Inverter AC and wow they have! The model I configured much earlier in the year still had the normal AC low efficiency design. They are into efficiency!! Their electronics for charging, inverting is Victron, one of the most efficient solar and inverter options out there!

Oh geeze, at 6:55, this trailer will run only 20 hours with a fully charged battery. So much for using this trailer off-grid for any period of time.

I hope he does well with this venture.

It would be interesting if they had a mid level speced version that had all the amenities of the top trim but without the battery/solar and using the battery of the EV to run the trailer though an outlet on the EV.

Wow really looking forward to hearing your experience with the trailer! Would consider, however would be nice if it had some sort of external bathroom option. Also seems like eventually connecting to the EV battery would be the best. Do you think they could have additional folding solar panels that could also provide shade?

I already had looked at his videos and my impression is that it is a great idea but also he has to take it further. My feeling is that he needs to find a way to integrate the car more into the trailer. If he could pull every thing in from the car that is already sitting there it would make the most sense as far as efficiency which is key. I believe he could modify cars so that he could bring in heat and A/C, 120 volt power and infotainment like radio and Wi/FI. The main work would be flexible ducting for the HVAC and inverting the power to 115 volt. Some EV's already have AC power out like the Ford lightening and the KIA EV6.

$$$ 31,000 Dollars!!! I rented a house on the beach in San Diego for a lot less. With Insurance, No Shower, No bathroom, maintenance, licensing, lower EV range, Full RV spots, Storage….Nuts to that idea.👎

Might be worth 20k. But def not 31k. Which is probably close to 35k after taxes.
