Thank you Van Clan for including us, we are honored! Just so people get the right info, most of the video clips are from our smallest teardrop, DoDrop Alpha. TerraDrop is significantly bigger and can easily support 4+ person families with the addition of a rooftop tent. Thanks again Van Clan!
Do Drop is still badass too!
Christopher Vogt, thanks man! DoDrop Alpha, given it’s smaller stature is actually our most capable off-road camper, but TerraDrop can go almost anywhere, and is definitely the more family friendly version...
This was a very good and informative video. I do believe some of the comments are correct. Tear Drop enthusiast are typically true minimalist. When getting above $15,000 it defeats the purpose of the minimalist lifestyle. However, the ideas and designs are things Tear Drop purists can copy and redesign and use for their own less expensive trailers.
Nice teardrop campers and looks very comfortable and luxurious, all faculties are there, thanks for sharing it
I noticed that the Vestibule Teardrop trailers didn't make the list? I think they are one of the best and most innovative designs! Regardless, great video and thanks for all you do!! I just found your channel and subscribed!!
These are just what I was looking for. A "just in case" place to rest, sleep, and eat for a night. That Cybertear will be bought out quickly. Now where is the closest Motel 6 ? Excellent video VAN. Thank you. Yuma, Arizona USA
His voice is soothing ! Also if anyone is reading this you are important don't give up.
Thank you :) Glad you liked it.
Whoa, I just discovered that you, Retro Dodo, has a channel about campers and vans! It’s cool when disparate hobbies and interests meet lol.
I bought a Runaway in 2019..you finish it off like you want..low weight and my price with options under $3800
Great review. I like the humor. Thanks!
Much appreciated!
Man I love teardrop campers, great video mate 👌🏾
Thenks Engyi Exellance
Great review....great accent!
Hi Van ! Great video summary of the best teardrops, thanks for posting !
Obviously you could not mention all brands, but you missed out on two great models that should be on your "top 10" list : The Turkish "caretta 1500" and the Danish Hero Campers ( Traveler model ) !
Best, Mike
The dog in the Timberleaf! ❤️
Cute hey? :)
Van Clan Indeed!! 😸😸
Retro Dodo for life 👍👍
The ‘teardrop’ market might be growing but these new ‘ideas’ aren’t getting WHY the teardrop market is growing - which is mainly people don’t want to spend the money the traditional campers cost or have the vehicles required to pull them. Get Your Prices Down.
The current teardrop prices are too close to bigger trailers. Why only sit and recline when you can stand as well in a slightly larger unit?
joe woodchuck Exactly. The Teardrops are popular because people can tow them with smaller vehicles but the manufacturers are taking advantage of that and marking up the pricing. But what they’re not getting is that since the prices are so high people are just going to trade in for a bigger vehicle and get the new, larger and lighter full sized ones anyway or buy a low end model or not buy one at all, and then in the end the nice Teardrop market will fault because of greed.
There is one exception though. There's a sort of shell teardrop which is quite affordable. You can either accesorize it with your own stuff whatever way you want to, or let them build up a package with their offerings a la carte. Damn I can't remember the name. If you search for teardrops it may come up. I'll post here if I track it down.
joe woodchuck Yeach, there are some out there. There are also non-teardrop but smaller traditionally style campers but lightweight, with a wet bath, kitchen and queen bed/diner for 20G and under.
EXACTLY. Going over $30,000 for a teardrop is a bit excessive and ridiculous. $50,000? That's dumb. Just get a bigger trailer and it'll still be a few thousand bucks cheaper!
BRUDER exp4!!! The best
Thoughts on the Vistabule teardrop camper?
Cool video!
Thanks for watching!
Sull'ESCAPOD poi la bombola esterna del GPL è al top, appena c'è un'importatore/rivenditore qui da noi,lo vado ad acquistare subito
So-Cal Teardrops have been building teardrop trailers for 16 years. The build quality is top notch and the customer service is second to none. Check them out!!!
Dude you're hilarious!
Excelente ¡¡¡¡¡ 👍👍👍🇦🇷
I just went to the Earth Traveler site. The one you apparently show here is listed for $30K which is the T250LX (emphasis on “LX”). They do make 2 models. The one for $10K is the T300 Standard and as the name implies...is rather standard, but I’m sure still very nice.
its no longer 10k.. its 20k now
That would look good behind the new Tesla truck!
My GOD these are crazy crazy prices. I think I'm going back to start building tear drops. I was building them for Happier Camper the BEAN trails in Salt lake City. Mine will come in at 10k or less? I'm NOT GREADY Like most manufacturers
Polydrop + cybertruck= 👍
Adding all those extras to these tiny trailers substantially increases it's weight. Sort of defeats the purpose of towing a "light" trailer.
I'm waiting for the best economy, and best-bang-for-the-buck lists.
You can easily build yourself one for a few thousand. Tons of videos out on how to build all types of different ones.
The Bushwhacker is worth checking out. It's cheaply built, but is cost effective and has lots of features czcams.com/video/xv5TFl2kRsY/video.html
I love the ukkkk ❤👉🏾👈🏾.
The axles are strong enough to navigate any potholed flying j or petro parking lot.
Nice video
Thanks
I am shocked he didn't include Vestabule Tear Drop trailers out of Minnesota.
Totally agree!
Are these available in the United States?
the Vestibule is much more sensible, refined and elegant
Is the thumbnail based on the cybertruck
Nice
Thanks
I watch two short commercials so that I could watch a 13 minute ad.
Sherpa hands down!
Looking for a teardrop that my 2000 Mercury Cougar can pull. I do have a V6 , not the tiny 4-banger.
Runaway Campers & Start @ 2,500.00
Luna lite might make it for you I am looking at those. I like the bean with the pass through feature but oh the price
Has bear gone out of business? I can't find a website for them
Some of these are built to last a lifetime because that's how long it will take you to pay them off.
I love how they say "affordable"..
There is nothing affordable about these for the working person, who they are apparently aimed at.
Every time an idea is brought forth aimed at the common person it's priced out of their reach unless you finance it over the rest of your life.
It's really unfortunate.
“rest of your life“ - here:
- shiny SUV
- charming pet(s)
- fashionably clad children
- consumer electronics galore
- beef
- pork
- coffee
- chocolate
- jet travel
- condo
- garden (best with gardener) etc.
What about for a retirement home? It doesn’t sound bad if you think of it for that.
It’s not for you if you are complaining about the price. They do make cheap ones out there.
Bean Trailer should be in Top Ten without a doubt.
Ill look into it
Check out runaway camper trailers.. the new 2020 model starts at $8, 000.... ✌️
Will do, thanks Joe.
Did not see one that the bed folded up like futon making a bench seat with a fold down table in front of it....
@11:23 “8.7 inch insulation” are you sure about that? That would mean very little internal space.
Thanks for the video, but I need more than an inside sleeping quarters. I can sleep in a big tent with a couple rooms in it and be more comfortable and have privacy! I think these campers are for the MEN who go 4-wheeling & hunting.
10:50 The E-Truck camper.
When you can buy a 20Ft Geo Pro with solar panels, 2 batteries, 2 propane tanks, AC, shower, toilet, kitchen, refrigerator, sofa, dinning table, TV queen bed, massage storage, outside awnings, outside propane grill and full standup space for $24,000
Every last one of these trailers are over priced.
Dang this makes me want to just leave my home made camper on the side of the road and buy one of these
I mean if you do, let me know what mile marker haha
You didn't include SoCal Teardrops, better than any on this list- I know, because I own one.
How much are this car.
I simply cannot figure out where you store your dirty boots in these campers - they will be wet and cold (or stolen) if left outside. And it will make a mess if you place them in the inside bed
1:00 minute in.
Not NuCamp?
I always thought camping was the cheaper option but after seeing these trailers, which I’m thinking now about buying one I now see you can spend $100k on a camper.
why will we still need apartments in the future when our whole life could be a nice holiday?
I made my own the way to go,The prices are to high for the market that wants one.
How much did you spend if you don’t mind me asking? My brother is a welder and I’m considering asking him if he can weld the frame for me.
I made mine best of materials electrical power battery insulated.hurricane hinge ,utmost important.all in 4.500 ,euros.biotic beech inside.keep the cabinets high,to stop knees hitting them.
You could cut costs ,but they can look crap I see it as a family air loom ,passion of love about 500 Hours labour
THE POLYDROP TRAILER LOOKS TESLA!
peace ?
Bed on wheels)))
"Galavanised" ROFL!!
Me too!. That's about as funny as hearing some limey say "aluminium" 11:09
11:34 tesla cyber truck camper
exactly!
The Vintage Overland is Switzerland inspired not Danish.
Va bene per i pigmei o qualche cinese
Check a korea company camper ...that's the best....think
if you see something flying past you when it is windy, it might just be a Sherpa camper....
You sound like you're from the west country. Bristolian maybe?
Bath, very close! 😊
@@VanClan knew it was somewhere close to me! 🚜💨
Cyber camper
all nice but get ridiculous in price
E' fantastico vedere la pietra al posto del cuneo di sicurezza alla ruota, anche se è di presentazione del prodotto,vi presentate malissimo
I just don’t understand why people want to sleep in a coffin. Would give me insane claustrophobia.
because some people love small spaces and think that full size trailers and motor homes are disgusting
I would have liked to see teardrops that you can stand up in and not just sleep.
Then you should check out the Safari Condo Alto!
czcams.com/video/YWHZqhfLTTs/video.html
@@zeta2078 Yes, I liked the looks of those also.
10k for the earth? wheres that promo code cuz that aint it cuh
These are really cool, but what's up with the macho guitar? Nothing says manly like a teardrop trailer.
Вот не болтали бы, цены б не было.
Overpriced simple trailers
Go, build an underpriced elaborate rival!
(Edit:
...which commenters then very probably are going to call both expensive and primitive.)
Num 2 is knock off clc lightcraft
Terradrop looks good but sleeps 4?! How do you figure? You can probably stack 4 bodies in there but i hardly think a nights sleep would be what would happen. Come on. You shouldn't be afraid to say it only sleeps 2. Teardrops aren't family friendly for families of 4 and thats ok.
Hey there Tomas! I very much appreciate Van Clan for including us in this list, but they actually used the wrong video clips for their description of TerraDrop. They were showing you DoDrop Alpha, which is our smallest off-road teardrop, good for two people at best. TerraDrop is quite a bit bigger with a queen size bed and the ability to put nearly any size roof tent. We have one client going on extended expeditions with his wife and 5 kids (4 kids in tent, parents and baby in the sleeping cabin). I easily and comfortably fit my family of 4 in mine, kids are very happy in the RTT above...
Surprise that the Sarfari Condo Alto is not on the list, and it can sleep 4 with an optional bunk bed configuration.
czcams.com/video/bBrGAUE1-sY/video.html
That's two inside and two in an optional RTT up top...
No no no...no! you guys don't get the BIG PICTURE here !! this explains it all ! "there's a sucker born every minute, and 5 to take him " : l or ! "a fool and his money are soon parted " : )
10k is reasonable but anything near 50k is ridiculous. Why on earth would you pay 50k to sleep outside? Yes the most basic function of this thing is to serve as a tent. Pretty stupid of that company to price it so high. Yes I know everyone has different incomes but I highly doubt you're paying 50k and going camping if you earn 150k, 200k, 300k....
Bruder exp 4 better than all of those
Geez, for less then 10 000$ you could buy a « Pet, and smoke free » used casket and simply buy a used U-haul trailer and park it on a brand new, never used grave site and sleep in a quiet environment for the rest of your life!(And after life in fact!) o-0
I'm not camping, Ryan.
I have a project
to feed Americans.
Wanna help?
Over priced and nothing great about any of them
What's with British accents from salesmen who never been to Britton?
It is a strange accent, British but odd.
Ima let u finish, but OffGrid and Bean are the greatest teardrops ever made.
Tinny $10 THOUSAND DOLLARS for a 10 ft by 6 ft TENT ON WHEELS are you SERIOUS.... ! and $50 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR A WHAT..... ! YOU CAN'T EVEN STAND UP IN THESE DARN THINGS WOW ... think I will just sleep on the back seat of my pickup Wow.
If its american product I may trust why prices like this
Why is the music 3 times louder than the rest of the video? Thumbs down for waking my wife and baby and puppy.
Just sayin that’s Swiss, not Danish,
Affordable?! Not so much.
the polydrop is perfectly compatible with the new Tesla pickup from Elon Musk ... kkk were made for each other.
Affordable??? 2 years later.. not.
I can buy a Motorhome for less money than these trailers cost, this is a joke.
Please learn how to pronounce OryGun.
?
None of that looks "fun" ..to me
*Its Fun* .. -not van (read fen)-
CargoCar , trailers (bumperpull nor gooseneck 5th) , RV (living quarter trailers)》 fully invented by americ🇺🇸ns , and camp was invented by first n🇺🇸tions of america.. ,
Just because u guys change the names , authentic recognizen words and calls for every americans inventions didnt means u may reclaim their credits........ , no diffrent to cattle dog (australian pushed their ovvn given name , while originally it was america's breeding dog)
