- After the success of my Fastest Nydus Swarm Host build, I wanted to see if I could replicate it with the Fastest Battlecruisers Ever. This is NOT effective at all, so can I actually steal anyone's MMR with it?

After about 20 games in total on ladder with this build I ended up with about 6 wins and 14 losses LOL.

There were a lot of games where my opponent was blindly going for a 1 base viking tank push, or would scout it and get voidrays/stalkers and batteries out in time and shut me down. Was a lot of fun trying it out though and really pushing for that insanely fast BC. I think the fastest I got the BC out was 4:31 in a ladder game.. Amazed I didn't have a 10% win with this build LOL.

As a Zerg main, the 8 queen starter pack zerg player filled my heart with joy seeing your first BC deflected.

Haha sometimes I just forget, though in this case it was actually a conscious choice since I had about 12? scvs left at home I didn't think I'd have any chance if I didn't completely overwhelm right there.
Watching it back I' m like... yeah having 4 BCs all fully repaired up woulda been real nice in the aftermath of this...

As a new player, I'm always blown away at the game sense of PiG and other pro players. At 11:11, PiG: "I'm worried that there's a proxy reaper about to jump in" and 5 seconds later, a reaper jumps in.
haha cheers mate. In hindsight watching the video now that's actually a normal reaper timing - lucky for me or I'd be dead lol. That happened to me in 1-2 practice games
the lip-licking was incredible. You can tell PiG is sweaty like Arnold after a long workout.
Fast BC was a thing back in wings of liberty, I remember doing it in 2v2 often because my partner would just hold any rushes while I had a BC out super fast. People would get rather mad about it. But I really haven't played in years, I just like watching the videos.
Should hop back on the teamgame ladder, the BCs are way better now they teleport as well as move and shoot :D

I would think you'd want to get the battlecruiser attack upgrade ASAP. Their attack is so fast that this upgrade makes a huge difference.
but that involves getting an armory as well which is like ~200 gas and minerals. You can't afford the 2nd battlecruiser immediately that way. I feel a faster 2nd bc is more valuable
really useful upgrade in longer games with multiple bases, but in general getting any attack or armour upgrades don't get value in 1-base rushes
Think about it this way; BCs do 8 damage per shot, so +1 attack is a 12.5% improvement in damage output (against 0 armor). Including the armory, it costs 250 minerals 200 gas, which is a little over half a battlecruiser. Spending that money on an additional battlecruiser is a higher increase in damage output until the 5th Battlecruiser, and that's not counting the increase in hitpoints or having another Yamato. If you're fighting air, +1 attack is a bit more important since their ATA is only 5 damage.
Honestly rushing +1 armor is more likely to be useful because BCs have 3 natural armor. 0/1 BCs would take 2 damage from marines, and 1 damage from Phoenixes.
@@anjhindul haha I still love rushing upgrades when I'm first figuring out a new RTS - takes a while to really get a feel for how fast you really should be scaling up the income first!

There's a guy from uthermals old eSports team that plays zerg, I can't remember his name but he always makes a massive amount of queens and just snowballs from there.

I think I did a similar build in the past but walled off early and got a Techlab+ Tank instead of the widow mine. One Zerg instantly surrendered when I jumped over the BC >_

Damn with no marine or walloff you can hit a NASTY BC. If you know your opponent doesn't scout earlygame at all that could be a game winner. Pretty happy mine were popping so close to the theoretical fastest!

As a low level Zerg, videos like this show just how $%^&*ing bull#%% BC's are. If a GM does everything right and still loses the game, I'm left to wonder why I play this game at all. Harstem should take this replay and let us know if is BC's are IMBA or not.

I do the build in Master 3, but I think it would work even in GM with proper micro and scout denial.

Not sure why you threw away your BC's in that third game. I see pros do it all the time so there must be a reason but man, just pull them back and repair.
Aside from the obvious (Tactical Jump being on cool down or having your multitasking stretched out to the limit), there are situations when the opponent manages to hard counter them so hard that they become practically useless. Then, it is better to free up the supply by attempting to deal extra damage and hopefully buy enough time for a transition.
@@Compulsive_LARPer yeah this was my thought process at the time. Though if i teleported them RIGHT before they die it woulda been great to have a bunch left over and repair them up. I had such a miniscule economy I felt completely all in. I didn't think I'd have any followup so was just diving for the win right there
