    Moralist is a great summary. I know and am related to several deltas, and they're all moralists. My beta life has been dominated by deltas who believe that selfishness is good, but they are super concerned with public validation and the goodness or badness of everything. While most of the deltas I know (not all) believe in the goodness of selfishness, they are very embedded people.

    I loved the video! You explain it very well and I'm new to socionics, perfect for me. IEE. New subscriber!
    About the first topic, it's very me. I'm constantly talking about "absolutist" rules about what is right or wrong and constantly trying to refine them.
    For example, in the past I used to say that "you are completely responsible for what you do. If someone did something bad and you retaliated with something bad, you are almost as bad as them" and use this to not only guide me in various situations in my life, but also to censor other people who didn't believe/follow this (my sister LII, for example). I only changed my thinking after being put in situations that proved to me that it wasn't so black and white, and that there are many nuances - nuances that I also constantly try to find a correlation to. The point is that I always have this tendency to create an internal structure of morality by which I can operate and know that I'm doing the right thing, because "according to this rule, I'm right, so I don't need to worry". It's something so automatic and natural to me that it was kind of funny to see it being talked about as something that belongs to the delta quadra. For a long time I thought that at least most people were like that.
    However, sometimes I feel like I use this mechanism as a shield to ease my conscience and take away my responsibility. Some thought, like "I don't have to blame myself for doing Y to X person. I don't have to blame myself because Y is the natural consequence of X, so I'm right". When I was about 13 years old, I remember having a rule that "friends don't hide secrets under any circumstances. If you tell one in the group, tell everyone, or don't tell any. Otherwise, you don't trust your friends". One day, a friend kept a secret from me for fear of my reaction, but she told 2 others in the group. When I found out, I treated her badly for days. All of this with a clear conscience, because "she broke a rule, suffer the consequences of being a bad girl and hurting another person".
    Nowadays it's not usually anything so drastic, but every now and then I find myself using it just to justify my actions to myself.

    delta quadra here!! I feel like I spend most of the time in an Fi-Si state which makes me doubt whether I'm INFP or ISTJ but I like to believe that I'm on my way on figurinh that out... In my experience, it really is looking at the world through that lense of "this is right, this is wrong". I often feel like people will judge me for being too moralistic but I feel this compulsion to speak out on what I think is wrong. Thank u for doing justice for Te-doms in this, they get so much hate but most of them are good people

      I don't think Barbie is a delta quadra but if anyone's seen the movie I think it represents Si-Ne moralism really well as the discussions on feminism are really attached to everyone's individual experience, also on being adverse to change and then embracing imperfection, I think the people who will resonate with the movie the most will be on this quadra

    I agree with you about Delta Quadra Fi vs Gamma Quadra Fi. The good examples for Gamma Quadra Fi IMHO is Lionel Messi ( ISFP preferences) and Delta Quadra Fi is his fifth cousin Bojan Krkic Perez. Both are individualistic, but Leo Messi valuing doing good things to be remembered as a good person, while Bojan valuing doing good things also to help others grow positively.

My mom is very obviously Te-Si and the point on deltas wanting to help others reach their full potential is definitely true. They get more flack than they deserve imo, they're honestly the most comforting and trustworthy people you could ever meet when they're healthy.

    Me, hubby and 3 kids are all Delta here. :) We are sweet, wholesome, hard-working, silly, sensitive, and honest, to a place where other quadras think is cringe and sappy. LOL We follow the rules of society, but are very mischievous when we don't, then no one is mad because we are like silly sweet children when we brake rules. ;) Well, my gamma sister gets annoyed that no one is mad at us. LOL When she brakes the same rule as a gamma, people are angry at her. Think I am like Ferris Bueller (Delta) and my Gamma sister is Ferris's sister. :) We love each other because in the end, we share Fi together always.

  • @PowerRedBullTypology

    I think each quadra represents certain _opposing_ and specific subjects/topics/ most. For example, the delta quadra is the quadra where there is for example the distinction between fantasy and realism. The nfps are the least realism orientated as for example social justice warriors supporing the idea that anyone can be anything (like if you feel like a hrose then you are a horse) while the stj's are the most realism orientated. For them everything is just what it is. Similarly the nfps are most sterotypically progressive and the stjs'most stereotypically politically conservative. This is another one of their major distinctions. You could say the quadra in that sense is in a way politics for example. However, the direction it goes is different for each type. You can not really say if the quadra as a whole is left or right.
    In this sense I think each quadra represents certain _distinctions_ that can either go one way or the complete other way. For example, the alpha's are described as very open minded and what not, but I think it's mostly true for the NTP's. The ISFJ and ESFJ on the other hand can be really quite judgemental, so oppositional compared to the ntps.
    However, I like the idea of one common ground of the quadra's and I partly agree with it, but at the same time each quadra has functions that always consist of complete opposites. Ti for example is everything that Fe is not. There is no overlap between Fe and Ti, as both of them are 100% oppositional. Logically, they can not share any common ground, since they are opposing and thus everything that is high Ti, is not high Fe and everything that is Fe must not be Ti (from a purely logical perspective at least). They are both the other complete half of the apple.
    similarly you could say Ne is about the new and Si is about the old. However, you can not really distinguish Se/Ni when it comes to the topic of new and old because they both have elements or new and old in them. Se is novelty seeking, but is so realistic that really new and while Ni is about the future, it's not novelty focussed. So you could say that the axis Ne/Si is about the new and old, but you can not really say if its more about the new or old. You can say it's about that distinction though.
    _Disclaimer: Typing coherent sentences is difficult with sleeping pills in my system_

      I can only speak for the gammas, but I don’t see this opposition as much in the gamma quadrant. The one opposition I can think of off the top of my head is that, while all the gammas are assertive in pursuit of their personal interests, the priorities will be the main distinction. With the FPS focused on identity/sensualism, and the TJs focused on goals/productivity. Something like this.

      Not sure I completely understand your point about opposites. While functions in an axis are oppositional as a closed system, a person cannot be 100% of a function regardless. It’s less of a dichotomy and more of an imbalance. In a state of imbalance, common ground is possible.

    its not that JKR doesnt support gay rights, she's super supportive of that. its the trans movement that she's critical of as it infringes on women's rights which she's a strong advocate for. like trans women (male) in women's sports, lesbians being ONLY same sex attracted (female female attraction, trans women cannot be lesbians etc), single sex spaces especially for women like prisons and toilets. she bases her morals on reality and objective facts such as "biological sex exists", and that words should have definitions and meaning.

      But she doesn't realize that when trans activists disagree with her, they aren't disagreeing with "biological sex exists." They understand chromosomes and hormones much better than most people. JK Rowling doesn't seem to believe that trans women are women because she doesn't separate gender and sex, which are factually different things. Basically, she follows a TERF (trans exclusionary radical feminist) ideology. People don't like her because she's transphobic, and they are very much in their right to call her out for spreading misleading and transphobic information

    In 4:52, is it supposed to be "rebel and/or campaign against the standards"? Since Aimee was saying that Delta types are adjusting themselves to be more homeostatic with the environment.

    • @beatofmyown
      @beatofmyown  Před rokem +7

      Good question!
      Basically, because of the desire for Si stability and maintaining that past standard, if you tell a delta type that they are NOT being “in the flow” of the environment, they may even rebel against that new standard because they feel like, “Why SHOULD we have to adjust ourselves to all these standards? I just got used to this other standard. I can’t take this new information!”Does this make sense?
      But the irony is that the fact that the delta quadra types even SEE standards as the only thing that prevents them from getting to point B is what makes them a delta quadra type in the first place. Gammas don’t SEE standards because you can just bulldoze past standards anyway. Like what’s the big deal?
      So delta rebellion is not about rebellion for its own sake, but it’s more for the sake of bettering the collective and changing the standard for all. You see that sense of “otherness” and “collectivism” that is not a thing in the gammas?
      Hence, why deltas don’t usually use force to get their way when the time comes for them to stand their ground. Because what if they change their mind or there’s something new to consider? “Let’s talk about it.”

    • @breathofvellichor
      @breathofvellichor Před rokem +5

      @@beatofmyownMakes sense. From what I get, Delta types tend to compare their own old standards between new standards in the environment. She isn't being stubborn for the sake of sentimentality and traditionalism, she's being stubborn because she genuinely thinks there's a lot of injustice with that particular issue. You have to distinguish people that are just holding on to beliefs because they are scared of progress, and people that are holding onto beliefs because they genuinely think new so called progressive beliefs are not right. I'm an EII and trying to generalise the vibe of a whole quadra is not very accurate. You have vastly different types in it. The beta and delta NFs will be more similar between them than the delta NFs with the delta STs. Same with all NTs, STs, and SFs. There's way more nuance to socionics than this. JK Rowling is also an EII but what she does is not about holding a belief - it's about the morality of protecting women against men who parade as women in a misogynistic way.

    Are you perhaps confusing the Delta quadra for Beta quadra? What you are describing sounds like the Beta quadra, and the thing about law making sounds more like Ti (structural logic), apparent in both Alpha and Beta quadra. The Deltas are more case by case basis individualistic with their Fi just like how Gammas are, but they don't have singular Ni (intuition of time), so they are more open minded to different perspectives and potentials because of Ne.
    In MBTI, many ISTJs for example, translate over to LSI (Beta quadra) because of that Ti.

    "Doesn't support gay rights or whatever" xD More like "actively and agressively propagate anti-gay-trans-feminist propaganda", but sure, she technically doesn't dupport gay rights I guess. If you ever bother to Se-out the subject, Shaun and Contrapoints are the way to go (don't listen to Shaun's vid on Harry Potter if you're a fan of the series and want it to stay that way, though).
    Loving your break down of the Quadras, by the way. Trying to alleviate my delta-gamma allergy through better understanding, any help is welcome.
