and you haven't even gotten to young Phoebe Gill in the UK, who just turned 17 & ran a 1:57:86 800m and broke a long standing, 45 year old W U18 European record - not to mention hitting the Olympic qualifying standard. It's also currently joint 2nd fastest w's 800m time outdoors this season - just unreal running on her part!

Razorbacks four women under 50 for the first time.
For a person who is obsessed with how well the field run, not the person who crossed the line first, that race was a timeless poetry in motion.

He was in lane 7 and the guy in lane 8 always starts out the blocks like a bullet. I knew that there’s no way Orogot was not running sub 19.80. Let’s hope he runs sub 19.70 in the ncaa finals

Her time has only ever been bettered by Chinese athlete Wang Yuan, who set the world U18 record at the Chinese National Championships in 1993. This was the meet where Chinese athletes coached my Ma Junren set 11 Asian records and 3 world records, before a rash of failed blood tests resulted in most of his athletes basically disappearing off the scene.

Give it another month to six weeks and we will begin to see the top sprinters and middle distance runners begin to emerge, getting ready for the Olympic trials for their Countries. Obviously with a view to peak at the Olympics themselves. Some Countries, notably the USA, will require that peak fitness be almost there for the Trials, given how difficult it is to qualify. Unless things have changed, their selection criteria is ruthless and is simply: Ist 3 at the Trials get to represent USA at the Games. (Providing they also meet Olympic qualifying times/distances) Yes, there is a little degree of discretion to make cover for the Relay squads but otherwise it is straightforward. It was often said that, for the USA, it was more difficult to place top three at the USA trials than in the Olympic finals, at least for sprinting.
Note: Top athlete Sprinters that emerged two months ago are handicapping themselves. Holding top form for 5 months is almost impossible. I'm really looking forward to these Games. As TRP has said, the Olympic battles will be amazing! Cheers.

Every 20 - 30 years we see a real physical evolutionary advancement in young athletes. I mean really a noticeable inrease in ability. This may be the greatest women's 400 Meter race in history, no doubt! It's a great time to be a track fan! And I can't wait to see it all.

My fav race so far was Kendal Williams getting the men’s 100m world lead with 9.93. The same track that the previous world lead was from by the high schooler. I don’t know what going on over in Clermont but they are always running fast on that track.

    Morales-Williams rocked the 400
    I’m not a 400 runner
Could he reduce his time a bit by working on his upper body form ? He seems to be twisting in his torso and also fighting a bit with his arm movement
Any thoughts ( and yes I know he’s world leading , just asking )

THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO SET THE BLOCKS. LEFT FOOT, RIGHT FOOT, ONE FOOT FROM THE START LINE. WHETHER MORALES WILLIAMS GOT THE RECORD OR NOT, HE WOULD HAVE TO SET HIS BLOCKS IN ORDER FOR HIM TO START THE RACE. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

Please brianna went in the race being the injured 1 and didn't get her usual start as we know she is a better starter than Sears and faster 60m. And dispite that she still ran 10.91 lol look at that top end how she closeddown on the girl Sears was neck and neck with. Imagine if she was not injured 😂😂😂 the voting poll didn't even have Sears to win dispite WL. Go cry with your self and Sears.
