Hi ! All you have to do is delay LRCK (WS) with 7clock pulses. CXD1144A allso have a mute funktion that will be dissabled if you use NOS. Corrupted sound will not be muted, and this means that every time you change track, the CD plays strange sound 1/10 of a sec. In the video you can see where CXD1144A have it's inputs and outputs you need for the surgery : )

There is no "bearing" or even bushes it is a non contaced magnetic spiddle. It maybe the clamp puck as it spins inside its housing. if so then your good

The real upgrade in this kind of cd player is to keep the laser pickup reading in optimal state, this is the main thing. The other upgrades, are only audio myths. If your laser pickup dont keep the 1.4V, the other things in case of to be true, are nonsenses, funny for the handyman, but nothing else.

If you check the cd player, replace and upgrade components is a nonsense. All bullshit about changing op-amps are myths, while double blind proves does not demonstrate anything in the sound.
The only weak point is the laser pickup, this is the most important thing in a cd player, with its right adjust.

I have this CD player 2 of them and also the 707 /557 with the A dac chip I hear no difference...
And other 3 players with same chip all sounds marvelous!
I have good hearing at 46.

Nice job. This is one of the great players from sony corp. I did not like the NOS mod. The mod made the music crisper, cleaner, sharper giving it a dry stertile sound quality as compared with the DF. The DF gives a somthing quality to the dryness of NOS. giving a more anoluge and a less hifi sound that the NOS gives. I own 4 Sony's my 605 has the S2 or double crown. There are alot of varibles that contribute to the sound that comes out of a player.

Interesting work although I found LM4562 very dry and bassless in a different player (philips cd160) im now working on a Marantz CD 75 MK1 and have installed OPA2134 - very lively DEEP bass ! I have a question what is that copper wire you have running thru the S1's heatsinks and how is it connected ?

the spindle was bent!! My friend has thankfully refurbished the transport for me.
    Which op-amps did you use?

    Hello fragglan, great job!
Is it possible to get the schematics of your non os building block.
I also have a 337 ESD revised, with low jitter clock and discrete OPAmps.
Sounds great on my Aleph3 with LS3/5a speakers.
But i had had no courage to do the NOS mod because there is nearly no information about the CXD1144A Chip.
    Best regards
    Oliver

@mikefitzman Hi, yes the sound was amazing!!! I sold it some months ago, but i still have one left :) A recommendation... don't buy TDA1541 chip's from china!!! It have to be nos (new old stock) or used chip's. I buy units and desolder them myself to be sure they'r not fake !

    Hi!
I know you have sold this player, but just have a quick question. My CDp-337ESD is singing beautifully, it occasionally needs one of the pots which calibrate the laser attached. I have noticed however that the transport with the lid lifted is a bit noisy. If you spin the spindle using 1 finger, you can feel resistance which I fear may be a "gone" bearing.
Did yours do the same thing? It still spins the discs at the correct speed and the music is beautiful, so I am not overly worried.

tubes / data reclock and resync / seperate power x3 and the biggest upgrade posssible is run both s1 chips in differentional mode as like marantz cd94 mk2 take this away from this player and the magic goes this is only way to make pre selected tdas sing
