- I have talked about CDP_337ESD before, so this time I only wanted to show you the method of converting it from Japanese 100V AC to 240V AC as we have here in Australia.
Just get a new toroidal transformer made!
Superb - best ever - laser mech, Sony KSS-190A
Will read absolutely any CD or CD-R, and fast too. Deals with 2.5mm interruptions in data layer and 3mm black lines painted on CD with no problem (Red Book Standard calls for 0.9mm).
I highly recommend it as a CD Transport.
I now have two of these, with the second waiting its turn for conversion. - Věda a technologie
I have one in my collection. It's build like a war tank and with, some updates, sound amazing! What a great machine!
without updates sounds amazing!!
i have 2 X 337 and a bunch of others with same mechanism
its a work of art!!!!!!1
Very interesting and good to know.
I bought before 2 years NOS, from ebay, from Germany, with unopened box… it was amazing to unbox a more than 30 years unit as new in 2021…
I keep it for reserve, if my cdp-r1 have some problem with the kss190a.
It will never have a problem with KSS-190A. They just do not fail unless something silly is done to them. How much did you pay?
@@hear-net-au it was 560 euro with shipping cost
@@valersagi8253 Not bad for a brand new unit.
I still love my Sony CDP 302 ES. Now i have to repair a Marantz CD 1020 slim line, it needs a new Laser. I adjusted the gain? in all directions - i did not repare the player. it is worth it?
Now, after your power adjustments, it probably does need new laser. ; -)
But lasers don't normally fail in CD players. I don't know how much it's worth in your part of the World and how much the labor is. But keep it even if it's not worth fixing. One day you may need some part from it, or someone might want one for its display or front panel or whatever and you'd be able to make a good deed and reduce waste.
Do you know where i can get one of these beautiful machines? I found plenty on eBay, but they are all off of Japanese sellers that buy them from the Japanese Auction after you place the order on eBay. And there condition and whether they work or not seems to be questionable. So any recommendations on where to look would help a lot. Thanks!
Indeed I do know. Buy them from me. :-) I am soon getting a delivery of two custom made transformers from Norway (of which one is already spoken for) but the second will go into one of these machines from Japan. Naturally, it will be fully serviced and you will get a video report in laser condition. All that will take around 6 weeks though. Please send me email (which is there on uTube or on my web page)
@@hear-net-au i couldn't find your email anywhere, and what seemed to be your email didnt work. maybe i am missing something?
@@gray6385 well, in every lower right corner of every video on my channel, there's a logo with my web page: www.hear.net.au. please visit that page and in there, under Services and Enquiries my email is shown. Please remove all spaces and replace "at" with @
Alternatively, go to CZcams.com/@hear-net-au, and right there click on anything below the line with subscriber number and all the info will be there.
