  • I am so excited to finally be testing out the Borax Laundry Stripping Hack and when I found these nasty yellowed pillowcases in my cupboard I almost threw them away until I realised they would be the PERFECT thing to test out this laundry hack on. I'd seen this hack around on youtube and tiktok but never on something as bad as these pillowcases. I was stoked when I saw that all the ingredients could be bought at Woolworths too which is always a bonus. I was super happy with the results of this hack! Definitely one I'll be using again and again! xo
    Sorry I had to re-upload this TWICE because of some technical issues... apologies all.
    Borax - $5ish - www.woolworths.com.au/shop/pr...
    Washing Soda - $3.85 - www.woolworths.com.au/shop/pr...

    I can’t wait to try this! I already have everything I need on hand! I have a bunch of t shirts I want to brighten but I don’t want to bleach. ALSO, and I mean this in the best way possible, I love the old school YT feel of this video. No mics or movie angles or wild cuts. You’re just a girl in a bathroom trying something new and sharing your results. Like YT was meant to be! I’ve watched at least a dozen white brightening videos today and this is the only one that actually felt helpful. So thanks on all fronts!!

    I combined two methods. Liquid soap, hydrogen and baking soda. The stain began to fade almost instantly. I let the curtains soak for about 5 before rinsing.

    I have also found thus works when things are really dirty. Good tip also when washing white bedding and towels always wash it at 60 degrees minimum with powder detergent they won't get like that again and it will help clean the inside of the machine also without damaging the fabrics.

    Thank you so much for the information you provided. I started to send a different comment and it disappeared. Anyway, GREAT JOB on the video. I’ve trained in smoke, fire, water and hazmat restoration, which includes a great deal of expensive specialized, cleaning chemicals, and the education to use them. However, using the basic cleaners found at home as you were showing are even better and in many cases. I’ve also found that many of the specialized chemicals we use are based upon the simple cleaners use at home. Another real good pack or combination is also using volume 40 Hydrogen peroxide (12% instead of household 3%)
    If you use baking soda, I’m sure you found that laundry baking soda is so much more expensive. Here in Washington state, the price is double that of regular baking soda. However, you can increase the efficiency and strength of regular baking soda, if placed on a baking sheet and toss it in the oven. Adding that to a couple of simple things makes all the difference in the world. On a sidenote, the hydrogen peroxide, volume 40 I was referring to is found frequently here in the hair and cosmetic department. Chances are you already knew this. In your video, you strike me as somebody who is as intelligent as they are attractive and kind. Great video, so many videos alike, but it’s the personality that keeps people listening. For me, it’s also the accent and words like “heaps”. Other technicians here, where we also purchase some of our supplies and get together and share knowledge, if you’re interested in any information that we may possibly be able to offer, you’re more than welcome. Hopefully in the future, you will share more of your knowledge and what you’ve learned from others as we do. Look forward to hearing from you. Have a pleasant day.
    Respectfully,
    GB

    Is washing soda equivalent to baking soda?? I have borax & the liquid detergent…may try it without the washing soda (& just add baking soda) & see if it works!!

    I’m not far off from getting some hair bleach and trying that, Clorox bleach does nothing. My normal trick is just toss the old and buy new but that’s not easy for a thicker plain Snow White zip up hoodie, I don’t buy stuff online and those sweaters are like unicorns where I’m from

    All this is is homemade DIY dry laundry detergent recipe that so many people in CZcams claim that it works in cleaning their clothing for only pennies a load. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
    I think using too much Borax and baking soda can actually strip the color from your laundry.😢😢😢😢

    • @shopwithmeaustralia
      @shopwithmeaustralia  Před 10 měsíci +5

      Haha those weren't dirty because I didn't wash them silly, yellowing of whites is common over years of use as I explained in the video, I washed these immediately before doing the borax treatment on them, I've had most of this bedding for a few years at least!

    Nothing works nuff of these claims I tried and zilch. These are just for who get the most likes & views. I don’t have extreme yellowed clothes like these CZcamsrs advertise. Mine is deodorant stains. Let me see who comes up with the best bs.

      @shopwithmeaustralia  Před 10 měsíci +2

      If you don't have extreme yellowed clothes or bedding maybe this isn't the right video for you? Maybe try 'how to remove deodorant stains' instead?

      Did you try 1 cup of clear ammonia in the wash or the denture tablets? I’m about to try those two separately soon

    • @petronillahunt9795
      @petronillahunt9795 Před měsícem

      @@Malibusunrise TU will definitely try the denture tablets, because I am so out of ideas, but I do know that ammonia like Clorox will eat away the fabric & may be dangerous being so close to the body, those harsh chemicals are hard to completely wash out. But thanks for your input I will try the denture tablets.
