4:15 thats how i feel about joon and yoongis albums too. joon makes me think and then feel, yoongi makes me feel and then think. i can never listen to some of their more personal songs cuz it gets me too deep in my feelings for a casual listen, so hearing the last with you (a couple hours ago lol) was the first time in a while. its hard not to feel what he feels when you listen to it, even if you've dealt with all your demons at least somewhat, listening to his raw lyrics like that, its different 5:00 there's a live performance of so far away with the vocal line! i think its from a muster (fanmeeting concert) and I dont think suga actually performs with them it might just be the vocal line but its beautiful
i feel the same way. i couldn’t listen to some songs off mono and agustd for awhile bc i wasn’t in the right headspace to listen casually. it hurt to hear the ppl i admire so much went through these things because it was so relatable to my own life 😢 bts are so incredibly human but also encourage us all to try to be the best of humanity despite our pain & suffering it’s beautiful

It took me years almost 7 I think, to go from angry to at peace, it's a lot of trial and error, some days you win, some days you crash so hard it's like you go back in time. Everyone has a different processing period and that's okay, the fact that you are trying is what matters most, having Bangtan helped me a lot so hang in there, when you find a reason for being that is more powerful than the anger, you will be free. It might be a quick realization or it could sneak in like it did with me but, it will happen. I know it and been living it. Looking back, I never thought I would ever get here. Sorry for the long text, I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone and it will get better, just keep going, reflect and be gentle with yourself 💜
It took me a couple of years, plus I'm older (than Tribe Louis at least) so I think it does make it easier. I did regress during covid BC there was so much hate and terrible things going on. But there was also constant reminders to not check the news too much. So now I just subscribe to a few newsletter/website that I check once a week and hope that any news of importance will make its way to me. Years ago, I read somewhere that when a person is angry, it means the person took personal offence to that thing that happened, that helped me diffuse some situations also and made me catch myself before I blow up. I also choose to remind myself by actively observing the calmer pple around me and try to match their energy (e.g. during driving when most pple are calmer than me and I try to behave like them). Or asking myself what would this person do. My fave to summon is actually JHope BC he complements my weaknesses. So ya.. I often ask myself what would JHope do if he's in my position. Hope some of the tips that helped me can help someone. 💜

All of what you articulated including his ridiculous tsundre side are why Yoongi is my unshakable bias. He’s pure emotion so often which is at battle with his difficulties sharing his emotions with others. He’s so passionate but quiet and full of rage but also working to get past it.
It's so great to hear you go so deep into it. I completely agree with the feelings perspective. He's really introspective and holds all his sentiments dearly. I learned a lot about just being from him. Also, his recent palette interview was very healing in terms of all this anger.... I was army at the time where a lot of his anger related to his career and treatment from others started and hearing him finally talk about it in such a healing way really released me a little bit.
I loved watching this. The members have definitely rubbed off on yoongi over the years. These days he says I love you first. Recently on live hobi and jimin called him and before they cut the call yoongi said I love you to both of them without them saying it first. 😭😭😭😭😭 We love character development. yoongi’s love language is acts of service, that’s how he shows his love to the members, doing things for & taking care of them. and despite how much he pretends he hates it he adores physical affection, just will never be the one to initiate lol

Oh, I loved how you summed up what you think/feel about Yoongi's first album. The last part of the song "So far away" JK did adlibs singing "First Love" - I think it might be a reference to another solo song from Yoongi with the same title "First Love" - it is one of my favorites songs from him, especially live performance because it is overflowing with emotions.
The beginning of this version of So far away reminds of another song of BTS using the same beat I can't really remember it but I love how they connect two songs using the same beats and brings both emotions from the songs together
yoongi and bts music really helped me when i was going trough a rough time, agustd mixtape hits even tho if it's angry you come healead when that last song it's over. so far away is hands down my favourite yoongi song. an underrated masterpiece. ive never been into hip-hop but eminem got me with mockingbird, then the same thing happened for me with yoongi's so far away when i didn't know anything about bts. i was randomly and cluelessly checking out their soundcloud and stumbled upon so far away ft jin & jungkook, their vocals gave me chills like i could feel the emotion and the pain without even understanding yoongi's korean verses. then i found a lyric video- his words together with the music and jin/jk's vocals i found myself crying. the way he tells his stories, so raw and unfiltered, vulnerable yet so strong, like he's completely exposing himself to the world yet no one can lay a finger on him. like you're falling but at the same time it feels liberating.
So Far Away is my favorite song from Suga, he is also my bias. I listened to this song on repeat when I heard it in 2016, pretty much every single day for at least a year because I was going through it and I still. I'm so glad you liked the song :) This song has a special place in my heart forever.
Tsundere is a Japanese word that is a common character trope in anime. It refers to characters that are hard on the outside, but soft and squishy on the inside. It fits Yoongi perfectly.
I’m older Army and I just want to say that hearing you be down on yourself is heart breaking to me. Namjoon says don’t look back, but sometimes it’s useful. From my perspective, you’re so young. You have your whole life ahead and you’re so smart and introspective. I realize that you’re not asking for anyone’s opinion but I feel the need to throw some advice out there. Do whatever it takes to get a handle on your anxiety so it doesn’t paralyze you from getting the most out of your life. Time goes by so fast the older you get. P.S. the line "first love" I think connects to a song of Sugas aka Yoongi called First Love. It is on a BTS album, and it is so good and emotional. Personally, it is one of the first songs from them that made me cry (and I don't cry easily).

the way you talked abt namjoon albums and now about sugas album feels so relatable. you say what i always wanted to say but didnt have the words. and you are kinda correct in the difference between rapline works. some ppl say it as : suga will tell you you are sh1t. rm will explain why you are sh1t and jhope will say its ok to be sh1t. to me, rm aims my mind. suga plays with my heart and jhope lifts my soul
i have to say this - suga's first mixtape, especially/specifically so far away, is what turned me from a new bts fan that just loved their music videos & was just enjoying the good music and messages but didn't really care too much to follow everything about them, into a hardcore army that has now followed them for 6 years and counting.. so far away made me cry for literally an hour because at the time i was struggling with just feeling burned out and unmotivated all the time (i was in uni studying something i hadnt chosen even tho i got accepted into my top choice uni that was #1 in the US in my chosen field with a 15,000$ scholarship after working so hard in school to get it cuz it was a wickedly expensive school and i couldnt afford it or any of the other schools i got accepted into for that major (architecture), and so without even realizing it i had lost my motivation and just felt aimless. yoongi not only put that feeling into words, he made me realize it in myself and it was because of this song that i even realized why i was struggling to even care, let alone put effort into my projects and exams wen be4 i was always so motivated to do my best. because of him & knowing that some things just dont work out the way u want i was able to work thru my defeated mentality and i actually came through it feeling really happy with where i ended up. the way yoongi talks about goals and passions speaks to me and reminded me that a goal isnt everything in life, and its ok to stop and just figure things out every now and then. also, that goals dont need to be career related, that i can just work on being happy with my LIFE no matter what my financial or career success are. also ironically this is the same thing that i have been taught in different ways as a muslim, that career, money, capital success arent the most important things in life, but it never really sank in just how much value i was putting on these things until that point. im so much more at peace and to sum it up i think bts was the trigger & islam was my guide for fixing my mindset & life.

Your approach of getting to the know the BTS members music individually first is a novel approach which I really enjoy. I can’t help but try and anticipate your reaction when you finally get to the BTS as a group’s music. You might think you’ve heard all their introspective lyrics in their solo songs and expect the group songs to be lightweight but that isn’t the case at all. Instead BTS tend to create music with paradox; they might sound bright & light but there’s plenty of substance when you delve. Borahae 💜

The thing is yoongi act like he's annoyed but he love it not like but LOVE it. In concert when members do something he stand beside them so member see him & react, otherwise he sulk (like in 43:43) Today's yoongi easily says "I love you" to his members. When members (jimin and jhope) called him when he went live, he end his live with "I love you". He also said he can said " I love you " easily to members. I think yoongi mental health been good since last year more. He is more expressive physically now. He don't feel shy to confess his love for his members

EXACTLY like me! I’m definitely still angry at me mostly, but also at the world…I’m still so far from the healing stage😔
It took me a couple of years, plus I'm older (than Tribe Louis at least) so I think it does make it easier. I did regress during covid BC there was so much hate and terrible things going on.
But there was also constant reminders to not check the news too much. So now I just subscribe to a few newsletter/website that I check once a week and hope that any news of importance will make its way to me.
Years ago, I read somewhere that when a person is angry, it means the person took personal offence to that thing that happened, that helped me diffuse some situations also and made me catch myself before I blow up.
I also choose to remind myself by actively observing the calmer pple around me and try to match their energy (e.g. during driving when most pple are calmer than me and I try to behave like them). Or asking myself what would this person do. My fave to summon is actually JHope BC he complements my weaknesses. So ya.. I often ask myself what would JHope do if he's in my position.

"Tsundere" is a literary archetype in Japanese storytelling (it's a very popular archetype on Japanese virtual games, manga and animation). In romantic stories, it describes a character who acts or appears to be cold, dismissive, rude, irritable, grumpy, moody, often even belligerant, agressive and violent towards their love interest, but who acts in such a way in order to hide their vulnerability, fears and romantic feelings. All of what you articulated including his ridiculous tsundre side are why Yoongi is my unshakable bias. He’s pure emotion so often which is at battle with his difficulties sharing his emotions with others. He’s so passionate but quiet and full of rage but also working to get past it.
Yoongi is my bias and i love him as a producer, his songs always bring me comfort and i really respect him as a person, strong and compasionate
It's so great to hear you go so deep into it. I completely agree with the feelings perspective. He's really introspective and holds all his sentiments dearly. I learned a lot about just being from him.
Also, his recent palette interview was very healing in terms of all this anger.... I was army at the time where a lot of his anger related to his career and treatment from others started and hearing him finally talk about it in such a healing way really released me a little bit.

They were performing Permission To Dance and since I had heard of them before I decided to do my own research..get to know them as people so that I could enjoy their music better since it was all new to me. New language,new genre.. I haven't looked back since

Oh, I loved how you summed up what you think/feel about Yoongi's first album.
The last part of the song "So far away" JK did adlibs singing "First Love" - I think it might be a reference to another solo song from Yoongi with the same title "First Love" - it is one of my favorites songs from him, especially live performance because it is overflowing with emotions.
The beginning of this version of So far away reminds of another song of BTS using the same beat I can't really remember it but I love how they connect two songs using the same beats and brings both emotions from the songs together
Yoongi speaks very directly. Especially compared to Namjoon’s poetic wordsmithing and Hobi’s multifaceted & thoughtful lyrics
"It's invigorating but also draining" is a perfect way to express how Suga's music hits me too.

so far away is hands down my favourite yoongi song. an underrated masterpiece.
ive never been into hip-hop but eminem got me with mockingbird, then the same thing happened for me with yoongi's so far away when i didn't know anything about bts. i was randomly and cluelessly checking out their soundcloud and stumbled upon so far away ft jin & jungkook, their vocals gave me chills like i could feel the emotion and the pain without even understanding yoongi's korean verses. then i found a lyric video- his words together with the music and jin/jk's vocals i found myself crying.
the way he tells his stories, so raw and unfiltered, vulnerable yet so strong, like he's completely exposing himself to the world yet no one can lay a finger on him. like you're falling but at the same time it feels liberating.
So Far Away is my favorite song from Suga, he is also my bias. I listened to this song on repeat when I heard it in 2016, pretty much every single day for at least a year because I was going through it and I still. I'm so glad you liked the song :) This song has a special place in my heart forever.
Tsundere is a Japanese word that is a common character trope in anime. It refers to characters that are hard on the outside, but soft and squishy on the inside. It fits Yoongi perfectly.

I’m older Army and I just want to say that hearing you be down on yourself is heart breaking to me. Namjoon says don’t look back, but sometimes it’s useful. From my perspective, you’re so young. You have your whole life ahead and you’re so smart and introspective. I realize that you’re not asking for anyone’s opinion but I feel the need to throw some advice out there. Do whatever it takes to get a handle on your anxiety so it doesn’t paralyze you from getting the most out of your life. Time goes by so fast the older you get. P.S. the line "first love" I think connects to a song of Sugas aka Yoongi called First Love. It is on a BTS album, and it is so good and emotional. Personally, it is one of the first songs from them that made me cry (and I don't cry easily).

i have to say this - suga's first mixtape, especially/specifically so far away, is what turned me from a new bts fan that just loved their music videos & was just enjoying the good music and messages but didn't really care too much to follow everything about them, into a hardcore army that has now followed them for 6 years and counting..
so far away made me cry for literally an hour because at the time i was struggling with just feeling burned out and unmotivated all the time (i was in uni studying something i hadnt chosen even tho i got accepted into my top choice uni that was #1 in the US in my chosen field with a 15,000$ scholarship after working so hard in school to get it cuz it was a wickedly expensive school and i couldnt afford it or any of the other schools i got accepted into for that major (architecture), and so without even realizing it i had lost my motivation and just felt aimless. yoongi not only put that feeling into words, he made me realize it in myself and it was because of this song that i even realized why i was struggling to even care, let alone put effort into my projects and exams wen be4 i was always so motivated to do my best. because of him & knowing that some things just dont work out the way u want i was able to work thru my defeated mentality and i actually came through it feeling really happy with where i ended up.
the way yoongi talks about goals and passions speaks to me and reminded me that a goal isnt everything in life, and its ok to stop and just figure things out every now and then. also, that goals dont need to be career related, that i can just work on being happy with my LIFE no matter what my financial or career success are.
also ironically this is the same thing that i have been taught in different ways as a muslim, that career, money, capital success arent the most important things in life, but it never really sank in just how much value i was putting on these things until that point. im so much more at peace and to sum it up i think bts was the trigger & islam was my guide for fixing my mindset & life.

An absolute masterpiece of a song. I'm in love with Suran's version (adore her voice, although jin/jungkook kill it here), but that tie in to First Love pushes this version above for me

Your approach of getting to the know the BTS members music individually first is a novel approach which I really enjoy. I can’t help but try and anticipate your reaction when you finally get to the BTS as a group’s music. You might think you’ve heard all their introspective lyrics in their solo songs and expect the group songs to be lightweight but that isn’t the case at all.
Instead BTS tend to create music with paradox; they might sound bright & light but there’s plenty of substance when you delve. Borahae 💜

The thing is yoongi act like he's annoyed but he love it not like but LOVE it. In concert when members do something he stand beside them so member see him & react, otherwise he sulk (like in 43:43)
Today's yoongi easily says "I love you" to his members. When members (jimin and jhope) called him when he went live, he end his live with "I love you". He also said he can said " I love you " easily to members. I think yoongi mental health been good since last year more. He is more expressive physically now. He don't feel shy to confess his love for his members
