It was 1 a.m. on September 13, when the smoke detector alarm woke up the Hailey Family. The alarm alerted Phoebe and her family that there was a fire in the home.
A representative from the ADT dispatcher monitoring center called the Hailey family to verify that there was a fire and sent emergency responders to their home.
As Phoebe walked into her daughter’s room her bed was on fire. Mr. Hailey attempted to stop the fire but the fire was spreading rapidly and realized that it was too much for him to handle and went outside to wait for the first responders to arrive. The first responders stopped the fire in minutes.
The source of the fire was determined to be a halogen lamp that accidentally fell on the mattress. The Hailey family is grateful to have fire protection that helped save their lives.
