Smoke Detector and First Responders for House Fire Protection by ADT

It was early morning on June 7, when the smoke detector alarm woke up Connie Spotts by alerting her that there was a fire in the home. As Connie walked around trying to find the fire’s origin. An ADT dispatcher from the Florida monitoring center called to verify the fire.
After a brief conversation, the ADT employee then phoned local authorities to alert them of a house fire, who dispatched the Liberty Township Fire Department. While waiting for their arrival, Connie and her dogs evacuated the home. She and her neighbors then tried to fight the fire but stopped when first responders arrived.
The first responders stopped the fire in minutes. The source was determined to be an electrical outlet behind Connie’s clothes dryer, which had short-circuit.
Connie is grateful to have fire protection. She is grateful that her life was saved and anxious to meet her rescuers, including the ADT dispatcher who is flying 1,000 miles from Florida to see her for the first time.
