I have met Kate Lott (first soprano) and have heard her in person. She sings at EPCOT at the American Pavillion. She is as kind and lovely in person as she is in recordings.
The way she says "You want thingamabobs?" is so spot on.
Anything Voctave related is highly appreciated. Their talent is unmatched and deserves WAY more recognition!
Jamie Ray is a tenor in the group, one arm. He arranges all their songs.

@@philkingmke Well, if you happen to notice a guy in Voctave whose left arm either can't be seen, or is clearly missing, that's Jamie Ray.
He still plays the piano quite proficiently. He can play bass notes with his left elbow (the tip of his left half-arm).

If you want to listen to all 11 members with a solo in one song, listen to Somewhere. You can get a flavor of all the various styles while blowing your mind on the harmonies at the end.

Yay, you guys are doing music reactions again! Got a lot to catch up on. PTX, Voiceplay, Home Free and Voctave are going to blow your mind. You thought they were good before, just wait; they've all gotten past epic and have gone into astounding. It certainly will keep you busy. My, how did I forget, Avi Kaplan has quite a catalogue of his own music also🥳

The thing with opera is that it is technical singing in the same vein as ballet is to dancing.
Kate isn't singing here in pure operatic fashion, while it is classical it isn't pure opera. Her voice is perfect for this song because Snow White is the epitome of classical Disney.
I remember your first Voctave review ... I was surprised you dropped them for awhile ... Glad to see you back reviewing them ... They are truly in a unique class all their own ... Jamie Ray writes all their material, truly gifted besides singing also as one of the tenors ... I look forward to your future Voctave reviews

This is also maybe Disney through the years, A musical time capsule of the decades the films were made and the music was scored in. The job of arranging this for the group is in the middle of the three men lined up stage left, and his name is Jamie Ray, so he had inside knowledge of the voices available for the parts. Jamie had so much EQ to play with, small wonder it sounds like a larger group than what's actually singing.
The two of you are entertaining and enjoyable to watch your facial reactions. Keep reacting to Voctave, who is my favorite group.
Kate was up at F6 there as if it was normal, no sign of strain !
Jamey is their arranger and sings tenor in the group with EJ Cardona. EJ has sung with Voiceplay and his brother Omar has sung with VP on a few songs like Superstition, Carry on wayward son, and most recently, Dream On by Aerosmith.

Sarah Whitmore (Ariel) is not Jodi Benson, but she does a fairly good impersonation here. Her voice is usually deeper and darker, so I think she is voice acting a bit here.
