    Ummm where's the ice packs and stool softeners?? Plus I came to love the witch hazel foam

      These are good suggestions. I went tucks pad/pad liners instead of the foam though it’s great! And STOOL SOFTENER! You’re so right…PUT STOOL SOFTENER IN THERE 💩
      Also the ice packs won’t stay cold in the bathroom….but are a necessary evil for sure!

      (Ps I always took my softeners first thing in the morning with a big glass of water so they never wound up in my basket)

      Do American Hospitals let you keep things like Tylenol, ibuprofen and stool softeners in your own bag to take yourself? In Australian hospitals, if you're in long enough (cause they kick you out in under 24hrs after having a baby often), all medication, (even paracetamol) are administered by the staff. It doesn't matter which type of ward you're in, or why you're in there (joint replacement, heart surgery etc..) in public hospitals all medications you bring in with you are locked up and hospital pharmacy administer new ones, and the staff use these to medicate you with. Ironically in our private hospitals that you pay to use through your health insurance plus out of pocket expenses, they use your own meds! Bizarre I know.

      @@mamanursetinaalso whats youre opinion of reusable period underwear? Would it be more or less gentle on the perineum do you think. I imagine you'd need to take quite a few pairs, but I was more interested on the issue of softness.

      @Wormwood bush I think mamanursetina is Canadian but my experience in a US hospital they prescribed me ibuprofen I could pick up from the hospital pharmacy on my way out... but why? I had plenty at home. But they don't just hand you bottles of stool softeners etc so I was glad a friend had given me some before I delivered. Surprised Australian hospitals boot you so quickly! In the US I heard there was a law that insurance must cover up to 48 hrs after a vaginal delivery with no complications and up to 4 days for a standard c section. I know some women want to leave sooner but it's nice to have the option to stay for 2 days.

    My basket is ready. 👍👍👍
    3 weeks and 2 days left until baby (still think he will be here much sooner) got the itchiness under control, still waiting on the results.
    Honey if you see this, the add-ins are a pro tip that mama would highly appreciate any little sweets and treats during recovery ❤

    This is great! I have a caddy and I said I’m going to fill it up and leave it in the bathroom just for that items!!

    Love this. I’m definitely going to do this for baby number 3 due in 6.5 weeks! Didn’t really have time to rest and heal properly after my 2nd because he needed open heart surgery. Can’t wait for a “normal” newborn experience this time around!

    Are there differences between a basket for a vaginal birth and one for a C-section?

    • @mamanursetina
      @mamanursetina  Před rokem +2

      Not really! You’ll want to make sure to have your pain meds available and your stool softeners too!! Also you may want to keep something in there like a small pillow you can use to put across your abdomen and hug across you for when you’re bearing down. But the basket doesn’t have a ton different you’ll still be bleeding down below
