@@knopkaplay0507 the problem is that if he receives lots of donations onto the card, his account will be blocked. I went to the bank today and they told me that I needed to open a humanitarian fund. A personal bank account will be blocked if it receives payments from random people and to unblock it he would need to prove why the people sent the payments. Very difficult.

Privyet, Sam. I hardly talk about this event in my life and I don't know if Martin reads your comments, but I have been exactly where he is. I lost everything I owned in a flood about a decade ago, including my car and my dog a few days later. He was old, but the trauma of the flood overwhelmed him. I still have moments where it makes me realize the severity of it all. That said, you do recover. I didn't have flood insurance because I didn't live in a flood zone at the time. So, the flood basically cost me about $50,000 USD to recover, of which I have paid a lot of it back, but not all. I always wanted a Volvo Cross Country station wagon. Well, I am paying for it, but I just don't have the car to show for it. It is valued at the same price as my flood repairs. I am only sharing what happened to me to encourage Martin or anyone else who may have flooded. I am fine now, and going through this event made me realize how strong I am, and it turned me into a minimalist. Minimalism was a place I was already heading, actually. The flood was the catalyst. What you are doing is a blessing as I received help from places I never imagined. People ask me why I believe in God. I tell them I was raised to believe, but I saw Him in action after I flooded. Every need I had was met. Sometimes in ways I never imagined. There is a down side to giving after a natural disaster, however. Some people will try to give you things that they no longer use so they can get rid of it. They're not really helping you, but themselves. Martin needs money and encouragement. He and his family will survive and they will be much stronger than ever, but it will take time. My heart hurts for anyone suffering from a natural disaster, but if you handle it correctly, it can turn into a blessing later in life. I say this from my heart in truth. Blagosloveniya.

it's terrible! I think that local authorities should spend taxpayers' money to build new infrastructure, as for example in Italy when a natural disaster occurs the local government sends money to the affected regions. We pay taxes also for this. I don't know how it works in Russia. However I hope this family can have a solution! Great video. Thanks a lot

Calm down.

It's bad for a lot of people. There was another dam burst in the far east last year. Other countries have been getting excessive flooding in the last couple of years also. It's worse because of global warming, creating faster evaporation, so there will be more rain than usual in places. The problem is, will it happen again. I know in my country the flood victims can no longer get insurance for their properties, so basically have to look for somewhere else to live.

I’m confused. I hear from expat CZcamsrs all the time about how much more wonderful it is to live in Russia than in the west. Are you saying the Russian government is not prepared to help these poor people who built homes along a river on a flood plain? Is there no home owners insurance to cover home damage? I’m sorry this family and the rest of his village are going through this… really I am. But where is the government help?

I love the drama, guys , in Russia there is ALWAYS a reason to ask for help! I have bin here now off and on 14 years and I knew good times, bad times, very bad times and very good times. it belongs to the life here. If you want to survive Russia you need to be willing to go deep. if disaster strikes, you will need your friends for sure to help you out. But we are not different to the rest. of the world. Hey the water is high, it will come down and the cleaning will start , they will all help each other to recover from it and the government will probably jump in too, they have too....And Martin can always move back to England or just work hard like everybody else to recover. Personally I feel ashamed how much videos there are out there to ask for money! The Russian way of living can be hard, there are no free tickets here, if you cant take the heat than get out of here. I know Sam for a few weeks now, met him once, and he takes the whole world on his shoulders. I do the same but I have one very good friend who helps me balance it. Sam is a warm intelligent guy full of ideas, but he gets himself in to world where he is always helping somebody else, and not him self. So all energy and warmth and goodness go to others! Leaving Sam with A TIA , depressed, cold ......So......it is really time now to support Sam...to motivate him to go out there and to discuss the real world , the differences, the successes in Russia , it is time to work on him self, to respect him self, to value him self for the good man he is! Ill give you an example, i meet the guy for the first time with my goddaughter, he helps me enormous with a problem I have, and tells me in the future he will ask money for it, but he says me ofcource I will not ask you! Thats Sam! I wrote him later I dont mind to be charged cause he wants to help! You dont have to do all for free. Also people that he helps expect him to always help to even be in time with help. If you are a good guy , like Sam is, your life is determinded by the happyness of others but gratitude you nearly never get! Im sure he will not like my comment either! he does not want the positive attitude to him self but to others! SOOOOOOOO support SAM! Lets get him 100.000 followers, just get everbody to be a member you know and make a click on the video he is malking! Its time this giant, 2 meters and 8 cm, get some love and warmth himself! Thank you for reading this long comment !!! Come on lets get to 100.000 and we will have a lottery and when peace is there we will invite a few of you to Russia! Lets get Sam up there with 100.000 members and who knows , we will be drinking vodka and roasting Sjaslick on the BBQ while singing songs!!!

It's terribly unfortunate, however, very typical of Russian infrastructure once you venture outside of Moscow and Pitr, into the Provincial towns and villages.
    Its aging and rotting.
No doubt the financing of the SMO is putting off the rebuilding of damns, roads, bridges, waterways, railways, buildings etc...
These things are bound to happen, and will intensify.

Elena, a person who loves his or her country has the right and freedom to criticise what they see is wrong with it. This is what makes things change for the better. This flood that has destroyed Martin's home could have been avoided. We will soon find out that corruption and incompetence of officials, not so much nature, made this tragic event happen.
I have been to Russia many times over the last 17 years. I have seen Great improvements. Indeed, I lived in Provincial Russia for 3 months in 2023.
However, when a country prioritises the financing of a totally unnecessary and baseless war, that includes the deaths of thousands of young men in doing so, this does not make me proud of that country.
This money could be better spent on improving and modernising its health system, for example.
Or how about filtration factories so that water can be drinkable out of taps in all Russian cities and villages?
