- Last week I took a quick trip to my mother's hometown Buchanan,Liberia. One of the things I LOVE about Liberia is you can literally go anywhere and call people by name and everyone knows everyone. My grandfather was a fixture in Buchanan and my first stop was a fufu shop right on the city lines I met a beautiful group of women and asked them "Did you know old man Azzam? from there they directed me to the area where his store was.
Buchanan is also home to some of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES I've ever seen, with enormous palm trees adorning the costal front! I also took a visit to my mother's alma mater St. Peter's Catholic School ! I know many have been asking to see Buchanan so I hope you enjoy the video! LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, & COMMENT!
As an Irish solider I served there with the UN after the war twice, beautiful country and people, love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Love your channel. I will now visit Buchanan because of you. Thnx again
Incredible! Amazing! You brought back my entire childhood in one single video! My God! When he was in the eleventh grade, your cousin, my twin Edward Heart and me were in the 4th grade. A lot of people still remember those “skinny little twins with big head and frisky pekins them who had too much energy, and smart too lol lol”. (Others do not). There were some set of twins , but we were amongst the youngest set of twins at that time in 1990, the beginning of our 4th grade year. People like us and we like people as even after all these years, it’s still the same as we even became Wes Smith and Edward Heart...the love, the compassion, the respect , the joy and the decency we showed people, despite those personal set backs we all go through from others. Thanks so much for these videos. Buchanan will always be our home, no matter what that unfaithful day on May 19 1990, brought the sound of destruction and fear in our lives. It was there in Buchanan, that I learned that during war, there is always that constant fear of a violent death. Never again Buchanan and certainly, never again in Liberia!!!!

So glad I found another fufu chewer!!!! Fred!!! lol
I guessed you really love the fufu in Bushanan city in 2019!
Royda Urey what are you eating Dombo or Fufu? l love to eat Dombo and Fufu too, and mix it up with Dodo is binner seeds with hot peppers. Both Dombo and Fufu are my favorite foods in Liberia West Africa. Dombo and Fufu were made out of Cassava.
Well, l was born in Owensgrove District Grand Bassa County. And, Owensgrove is my home, and it's not too far away from those two Cotton trees on Bassa HighWay. Also, where l was born, in Owensgrove and it is not too far away from the big Firestone Rubber Plantations right across from Farmington River. l wish Liberia could build breach across Farmington River for most of the Owensgrove Students to cross on it to go to School. And, traveling on the Grand Bassa County Highway it is not too bad off then before., and it's kinda fun, because you will see alots of selling foods sometimes. Therefore, living on Grand Bassa County Highway it is like you are by the Sunnyside and you can find several Village life Style around the Highway.
Meanwhile, l love to eat Dombo and Fufu thank God for foods in Liberia West Africa too, and Liberians women them usually go to the market just to cook every day foods for their Families. Do you like to eat hot papper because Liberians women cook hot peppers soup, but not everyone love to eat hot papper especially living in the United States of America, they don't eat too much hot spices foods.
And, they say when you eat lots of hot peppers soup food it can cure settings sickness that are into your body. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS.
Lol 😂. I remember greeting visitors like those students. Maybe, I’ll say LIBERIAN schools especially the catholic ones teaches good morals and standards.
It’s taking me a long way across many SUCCESSIVE PATHS.
Can you please visit Elizabeth village in Buchanan?
