[Lyrics]
Into the Abyss I'll fall the eye of Horus
Into the eyes of the night watching me go
Green is the cat's eye that glows in this temple
Enter the risen Osiris risen again
Tell me why I had to be a Powerslave
I don't wanna die, I'm a God, why can't I live on?
When the Life-Giver dies, all around is laid waste
And in my last hour I'm a slave to the power of Death
When I was living this lie, fear was my game
People would worship and fall, drop to their knees
So bring me the blood and red wine for the one to succeed me
For he is a man and a God and He will die too
Tell me why I had to be a Powerslave
I don't wanna die, I'm a God, why can't I live on?
When the Life-Giver dies, all around is laid waste
And in my last hour I'm a slave to the power of Death
Now I am cold but a ghost lives in my veins
Silent the terror that reigned marbled in stone
A shell of a man God preserved for a thousand ages
But open the gates of my Hell I will strike from the grave
Tell me why I had to be a Powerslave
I don't wanna die, I'm a God, why can't I live on?
When the Life-Giver dies, all around is laid waste
And in my last hour I'm a slave to the power of Death
Slave to the Power of Death...
Slave to the Power of Death...

''Powerslave'' is a song from Iron Maiden's album,Powerslave, and it was released in 1984,and, it is a song about a dying Egyptian Pharaoh lamenting on the limits of his power. - Hudba
and the backing vocals on the chorus... sound so much better
I love this version too!! :)
Listening to this I can notice how great Dave Murray is.

Saludos!

5/5
drummer lets this song down a bit
Really does, he's not a bad drummer - He just gets too excited and it sounds too cluttered for the song. If he just calmed down a bit, it would have been better than recording (Just by the sound of the set itself)
Bruce's shorts let this song down....WTF!
I think this might sound better than the Live after Death version, mainly because I think adrian does his solo better
Check out this one: czcams.com/video/1UM9qzwap6o/video.html - Absolutely blistering version of it; Adrian's just pulling fire out of the strings and then Dave comes in with a flurry of notes. Great production, lots of balls.
Would be cool if Maiden also added the choir in the chorus -I think Smith & Harris would be up for it ;)
they did on the latest tour
BORK LASER Saw it myself... it was really good I think -even though it was a studio sample ;)
Michael Holmgaard this choir is horrible.
Solo wrong...
Only Dave Murray play this solo....
Yeah, hard shoes to fill, but doesn't make much of an effort.
You mean he plays it different? lol Yes, I think he wanted more a challenge. lol
Sobra pouco do original.
Dave murray style is unique sorry!
And he did it
Roy zona e péssimo nos solos do iron
Bruce sounds great, but they sound pretty sloppy... his bass player isn't great (lots of mistakes) and the drummer, for all of his flashy fills, loses his meter in too many places.
