We’ve been catching a ton of juvenile gag grouper in Jacksonville too.
Been getting into the grouper recently too. Freelining whitebait on topwater seems to be working. I always thought they were more bottom feeders

Passagrille jetty. People are asswholes and don’t want to share spots. I’m born and raised in Tampa. Trust me there’s plenty of other spots. Hope this helps out and good luck on a monster snook!

Yes
I do , I think it’s because the weight holds the hook and bait on the bottom in one spot and then it doesn’t float around to give it a natural presentation, we’re a Carolina rig will give a better presentation 🤔

@@kawasakidirtrider Thank You! I purchased a 2000 ALUMIX and 3000 CARBON X ll guess I need the CARBON X 4000 for saltwater shoreline fishing
@@tgssurfcaster3197 the 3000 should be fine. That’s what I mainly fish with for smaller species like mackerel and snapper. The 4000 would be nice for larger snook and reds though
@@kawasakidirtrider that’s great to know, think I’ll still pick up a 4000 just in case I make a trip to Florida for some bigger species. Right now I only use the 2000 N 3000 for freshwater fishing.
