Love the show. Broussard needs to stop interrupting, he’s doing what Nick use to do. Everyone needs to be allowed to speak.
@@battletested2934 This is a subject that Bru is passionate about and is back on the winning side of, kinda I guess (Nick's case was looking strong for a while there and I do believe we don't know what Purdy is yet). I fancy it similar to talking sports with good friends. You are a bit louder and assertive when you are correct. As you pointed out Nick does it as well. It speaks to their chemistry and actual friendship because it doesn't get in the way of things and is easily shrugged off. Ya, interrupting is slightly annoying, but they are human, and it clearly isn't deteriorating the quality of the show.
@@CoversWithCare I agree and it’s by far my favorite fn sports show. I just don’t like when Nick talks over everyone or when Bru does it either. I love the cast n virtually all of their segments

Nick on Purdy after having a perfect game against a decent defense: He needs to do more.
Nick on Dak having a mid game against a really bad team: YOU'RE UNFAIR TO DAK!
I think they are balancing him with Shady. Dakota could throw for a 1000 yards 10 TDs and be 74/75 and Shady would point at the one incompletion and say that's why Dak is trash.

nickWrong doesn't know football, Period!!!
Nicks problem is he sticks to his preseason predictions too hard. He liked dak and cowboys before season started, disliked niners. Now he will back them no matter what so his takes make sense. Last year he was the opposite. I like the niners wiht trey. I still like niners with jimmy, Anyoen can do what jimmy is doing and whoever replaces him will be better and they can win the superbowl. purdy comes in, niners can win the superbowl cause purdy can do what jimmy cant. This year teams are almost identical to their teams last year, now the niners have no chance lol

Man, hearing Nick talk about Purdy and then talk about Dak is wild.
When you have chosen (a ridiculous one mind you) a particular hill to die on, you just grab your shovel and keep digging.
there are good reasons to doubt brock purdy. not saying i do, i think he's very good, but there are good reasons. after 7 years of playing at a top 5 level, there are no more reasons to doubt dak prescott. he is one of the top quarterbacks of his generation.

Kurt Warner only had 7 4th quarter come form behind wins, Steve Young only had 13. Matt Ryan has 38, Carr has 28, Dak has 12. The reason both young and Kurt numbers were so small is because they didn't get behind. Now here is a stat I care much more for both young and warner had more playoff wins then 4th quarter comeback wins. Young being 14-8 and Warner being 9-4. Ryan, Carr and Dak are combined 6-11. but Look at all those 4th quarter comebacks.

@@SirGenesis206 laughs at purdy being mentioned for MVP but these other quarterbacks can have horrendous games and be right back in the conversation a week later.
The 49ers' game plan is to start fast, get ahead and stay ahead. If the Niners are trailing in the second half it means the whole gameplan has gone south. Shanahan calls the plays. If the 49ers fall short, it will be his fault, not Brock Purdy's.
Its always been shanahan, when his team trails he outcoaches himself.
Kinda agree
@99leeray he gets flustered
Is there a team who's gameplan isn't to get ahead? Which team wants to play from behind? I'm not disagreeing with you about Shanahan. But that first point is just dumb IMO.
@tucfang2577 lots of teams. Some teams ilt's to establish the run and control the clock. Not necessarily implied a fast start or be ahead. Lots of teams that are more run and defense based just plan to be within a score in the 4th quarter. High scoring offenses have the "get ahead early , stay ahead" strategies, not the good defense, strong running game teams.
Nick, 3 game slide had a lot to do with the concussions he got against Vikings, and he lost to the Browns because it was raining and the kicker missed the field goal. He's back healthy now and most importantly his accuracy is also back
And his arm is getting to 100%
The bengals game he was missing Trent williams and they bengals were dropping 8 in coverage rushing with 3 guys and getting consistent pleasure. That's 3 pass rushers to 5 o linemen and they couldn't handle it for more than 2 seconds. There is no qb in the history of football who can play great in those circumstances. NONE.
Yeah, offensive line needs Williams badly, wondering why Shanaham only bolstered defense.

I've been envisioning this scenario for weeks. And it starts with an Eagles win tonight so the Ravens can get the 1 seed. @@apostolostvable Yeah, you're right. I guess the fault lies with me. Lol.
Nicks whole "He can't play without the avengers around him" schtick falls on deaf ears when Purdy has a game like he did yesterday. If all of the pieces around him could lead to any QB having the first perfect passer rating in decades then the 9ers would have won a SB with this collection of players by now. The undeniable fact at this point is that Purdy is better than every QB the 9ers have had since Steve Young. Nick will never admit it. Even if he checks whatever imaginary boxes Nick says he cares about the goalposts will continue to move. His Purdy take is firmly a category 3 opinion and it will continue to get more laughable as his career progresses.

Nick's point is very simple. For him to call you a great QB, you need to do one of 2 things -
Show that you can play great when you don't have avengers around you (which Purdy can't prove because he plays for the team he does. Can't fault him for that)
Or show that when you hit adversity, like if you go down big, you can rally your guys and make good comebacks.

Lmfao I love this show 🤣 it brings me so much joy from laughing
It's not Purdy who can't win from behind, it's Shanahan.
10:44 - THIS is proof why you can't take Nick seriously with his takes on Brock.
- Nick’s entire complaint is that he doesn’t believe Brock can give the team a comeback win when the team is down.
- Brou gives an example of when Brock got the team within field goal position to win.
- Nick then says “Yes, in a game he played terribly in"
THAT WASN’T THE POINT NICK. Your entire complaint is you haven’t seen him play from behind. When presenting a time where he did that, you immediately brings up a different complaint. WHICH ONE IS IT NICK?? Dude will just rip apart Purdy for whatever he can. It doesn’t matter. He’s just gonna change the goal posts.
It's irritating bc he's consistently "glass half empty" with any take on Brock. 1000% diminishes any positive, by immediately bringing up some other negative that he thinks of.
The whole “but can he comeback??” question mark is such a bs niche question anyway. QB’s spend about 0.1% of their entire career playing in the final two minutes of a game down one possession. Asking for a guy to do something so specific for you is odd. It’s just blatant goal-post moving. When he actually does it (he already did it against the Raiders last year btw and the Browns this year) they’ll just shift to “okay but can he win while throwing the ball backwards and blindfolded??”
Thank you
That last paragraph is describing how skip talks about lebron or James harden, it’s all negative all the time and even the positives are somehow negatives
You’re missing the point, we’ve seen what shanahan has done with cousins and Ryan and jimmy g…. Nick believes Purdy is a lesser version of cousins. He still wants to see him do more in certain situations.
@@joshuap935but why only Purdy? He didn’t need to see Dobbs in that spot. He’s outplayed Lawrence, but he doesn’t need to see him do that. Dak hasn’t done that, and he’s ranked higher. He’s got Stroud ranked higher with lesser performances and a smaller sample size. It’s just not consistent. It’s only against Purdy.
Wonder if the 7-3 Cleveland Browns get brought up today . Have best resume this season
Been waiting for this all weekend
It's such a night and day thing listening to this show discuss Brock vs First Take, its wild lol
I think one thing Nick doesnt really realize is that when a team is down, they have to take more risks, and those risks rely on playcalls and the QB having to force the ball into receivers that may be covered really well. One thing most people notice is that when the 9ers are down, Kyle's playcalling gets really conservative. In addition, when you have both Deebo and CMC injured, half of the offense goes out the window because theres less motion, fewer screens, and much fewer plays that can be a sure 1st down. Then if Trent Williams who is the only thing that takes this 9ers O-line from a D to a B grade, is also out, Purdy will have almost no time to do what he does best, which is extend plays
I agreed 💯 Well Said!!!👍
That’s exactly the point about Brock. Baker balled out for an average QB and if we was a moderately good WB he may have taken advantage of the field position the Niners offence and special teams was giving up in the 4th quarter.
Point is, we know Brocks strengths and circumstances where he shines. Chances are the game is much more level against the teams we need to beat to win it all, which means possibly coming from behind when the ball is in his hands. Looking forward to him stepping up!

5:06 Nick really thought he ate with that Fancy brand new car in the rain and snow analogy 😂. Man really spent the whole Sunday coming up with that weak ahh analogy. Just own it. Purdy has been better than your overrated boy Trevor Lawrence.
He must’ve smoked with aaron Rodgers when he came up with that one hahahah
Look at Brou doing the lords work
Good analogy Nick
Russ having great numbers with the worst and most predictable playcalling behind an oline that seemingly allows free runners every other play and an oline that causes penalties tht stall 3-4 drives a game is nuts. Of the 5 wins he hàs 4 4th QTR comebacks. Which is also just ridiculously insane. Plus arguably has the best throw/catch of the year to Sutton against the Bills. Denver has alot of issues but Russ definitely isn't one of them..
I love how stubbornness is considered a virtue on this show
I love the laughing the background. It’s literally so wholesome
Best sports show on tv by a marathon
We know where Nick stands. He went by Purdy's draft status in his initial appraisal of him and will die on that hill. Obviously being picked last in the draft EVERYONE was wrong. Oh, but Nick has to be the one guy who's going to hang on until he's right. Except the kid's not just good, he's really good and Nick is going to look more and more foolish as time goes on.
Dak MVP?!? 😂😂😂🤣😂😂🤣🤣
They should permanently replace Brou with Greg for all football segments
This is the greatest show ever, I'm looking forward to it every single day.👌👍
But nick your argument against brou was flat out pathetic, I don't mean that in a mean way.😂
But obviously Brock was a MVP Candidate after 5 games
And obviously if you lose 3 in a row ur out of it for now
And OBVIOUSLY your back in it after two amazing games one of them perfect.
I mean imagine the same with Myles Garrett
When he loses the next 3 games and has zero sacks, he's prob out of the DPOY/Mvp convo
But if he comes back with 2 great games
And the second one is like a game with 6 sacks and they shutout their opponent, then OBVIOUSLY he's back in the convo again.
They'd never make an actual MVP player like Miles a league MVP. The Award is just for QBs now and to be fair per the rules they aren't even football players cause the little princesses can't take a hit. Unless you're someone like Cam or Lamar you could easily be replaced by a juggs machine.
@@skillganon606 yeah it will be a QB but that not my point
My point is that brou is right and Nick is trying every single thing to make him look wrong even tough it is BS
Let Nick keep hating. eventually haters will hate themselves out of all credibility.....which Nick is doing at a rapid pace after every Purdy victory
Who’s break dancing this week
Brou’s break dancing 😂
I love the props lol 0:03
Nick is saying the same thing we all said about Mahomes years ago. He just wants to see if Purdy can win without having an All-Pro at every skill position
Hmm I act don’t remember any conversations like this about Mahomes early actually I remember people anointing him the greatest qb they’ve ever seen in his rookie year and saying he’s already passed Brady that’s what I remember
@@KKOOLSKOOLMahomes is by far the most hated player in the league lol people say he’s a system QB and most people had the Chiefs missing the playoffs last year. Brock gets criticized by like 4 people in the media. There’s definitely a difference
@@joshuahartman2555 What? There are tons of Chiefs fans that's ridiculous. This is like Kelce saying they were underdogs last year after they won the SB. Yes, you defeated the odds - the odds that had you as SB favorites. Give me a break. Brock has great stats and he's constantly questioned if he's "that guy". I think it's legit to a point though because he's technically still a rookie so we don't know yet, but he's making a good case that he is the guy. Whoever had the Chiefs missing the Playoffs last year after winning the SB probably isn't the best source of information. That is absurd.
CMC is a literal 1 TD per game scorer since last since last season bar one game. That guarantees the 49ers 7 points per game no matter what☠️ he is the real MVP for them
Has brock had a game without a td?
These guys have the BEST Props!!! Tomato Cans 😂😂
The GRAND POOBAH 😂😂 Of the Tomato Cans 😂😂
Someone tell Nick that it ONE rains quite a lot in San Francisco during the winter so Brock Purdy is gonna figure the rain out, also someone tell Nick that it don’t rain at the Super Bowl 😂
That wasn't the point of his argument
@@livinglikelarry23 You didn’t get the point of my statement
Nick is doing to Brock Purdy what he did to Jokic, very slow to recognize his talent and give him credit. He will regret it.
Has Nick forgotten that Purdy played college football in college in Iowa where the weather is bad in winter.
Best show period
This cracked me up.😅
Nick starting to remind me of Skip Bayless with this take 😬😬😬
He has the 22nd ranked o-line and during that 3 game slide Trent was missing he is a big part of why that o-line is ranked that high. Also if CMC doesn't fumble that ball on the opening drive of the Viking games I have a feeling it ends different.
Gotta say, I appreciate Nick's fairness on Dak, wish he could extend that same fairness to Purdy.
Nick is so lame with his lazy arguments.
