The beam of negligible weight is supported
horizontally by two springs. If the beam is horizontal and
the springs are unstretched when the load is removed,
determine the angle of tilt of the beam when the load is
applied. - Jak na to + styl
Well explained and did not skip setting up equations, thank you
Thank you so much for working out these problems! It has seriously been a life saver this semester. We don't have the greatest instructor and its difficult to navigate some of these problems without some sort of guidance. Thanks again!
@Khalid Sage Why the fuck are there bots under a statics problem
@@anthonytreeano yo is that u?

This is exactly the same problem I am doing with different numbers. Very helpful!
Amazing videos as always. Thank you for the help.
Love the videos! they provide me with a different perspective
Just a cool thought. You could save a lot of time by splitting the force between the supports in the very beginning to get rid of all trig, moment, and force sum equations. Because of where the force is placed along the beam, you can assume that 2/3 of the 900N is on A and 1/3 of it is on B. That will giver you the spring force from the very beginning! This seemed to work for me but I am just a student so if I am wrong PLEASE call me out. : )
The equation for the springs is Fs = k(l-lo) not k(l). Also forgot to include the reaction forces at the pin A and roller B
How did you determine the area of the triangle without knowing the height? These videos are a lifesaver btw
So your height is the 600 N*m your base is 3m. plugging in your formula you get. 1/2*600*3 or 3/2*600
