Yo appreciate the video. I been deciding if ima join swift but u just answered a lot of questions I had but what exactly are accounts and how u get in contact with them Bc I wouldn’t mind regional routes?
Swift is a self-insured Mega carrier they take entry-level drivers.... small carriers are not self-insured... their insurance won't carry somebody with less than 2 years of driving... so be wary of shady Trucking outfits!
I was going to go to swift but I already paid for my CDL license when I pay for my permit . Because I will be out of state I have to pay again for a CDL license
Very informative but why hasn't anyone mentioned that if you leave the school right after you get your CDL.. You are responsible for paying the schools tuition yourself. That is correct, right? Atleast that's what the swift recruiter told me recently. I am not sure why anyone would want to leave right away. The whole point is getting that experience with them, not making money.

I start this weekend, after I get my cdls .. how can I ask to go local if they want me to drive otr? I’m from New Jersey & it’s already going to be a big separation traveling to Ohio. I need the best advice from you, because you look like you’re my age if not around it. Appreciate it.
When u get your cdl they are goin to send u on your training g with a mentor for 4 to 6 weeks. During those weeks stay in contact with your DM (driver manager) tellin them that u want to drive local.. stay on there head constantly... most likely they might give u bs stating that u either need 6 months to a year experience or it is difficult getting a spot to drive local. Dont believe it not once. If they say that, take it upon yourself to find out wich local accounts are in your home terminal and call those accounts yourself. Find the number from someone in the terminal office. Ask can they give u the number to the local account department.. or u can ask wich local accounts is there and call them separately, they have the numbers. Try not to ask your DM because they'll want u for themselves to drive for their accounts. Bug the hell out of them and keep it real , IM A NEW DRIVER AND IM IN TRAINING LOOKIN FOR LOCAL WORK WHEN IM DONE. Most are goin to take u kn. Some might say u need experience. While doing all this, still tell your dm the whole 4 to 6 mo ths that u want locally or if not something that will have u home every other night like a dedicated route
Walmart account is ok. They pay by the load and miles... $67.50 per load and 31cents a mile.. so depending on how much loads u do then you'll get paid. Night shift doesn't get that much loads.. maybe 3 or 4 when its busy... day shift gets about 4 most the time
Get it for free like me so you don't have that money back get it through your state at your local college it's free you don't owe no one or have to sign on for 3 years
Bro you said some real talk I went thru a cdl middle service and got mines in 2 days to avoid being under a contract I just going to do my my orientation and drive 4 to 6 weeks to get my experience with swift drive for them for 3 months and I'm out
U can but they're goin to act like its impossible or they have nothing open right now. Get ahold of the local accounts numbers and talk to them yourself.. tell them u want to go local
