- Saulala sadina is a traditional Lithuanian multipart song (Sutartinė).
It used to be sung in the end of a long day of work in the fields to say farewell to the sun.
Sutartinės (from the word sutarti - to be in concordance) is a form of polyphonic music performed by mainly female singers in north-east Lithuania. There are many different styles and ways of performing Sutartinės.This type of Sutartinė is called Trejinė, it is performed by three singers (or three groups of singers). The most characteristic feature of this type of songs is major second interval that Lithuanians perceived as a consonant and pleasant to hear.
I invite you to get into the feeling of an ancient lithuanian people and try to hear it the same way they used to.
To me it is great pleasure to share such a particular sound of Sutartinė with the world, especially when accompanied by most talented Margherita Abita and Giulia Campana two amazing singers and performers from ITALY.
Let me know if you like it and where are you listening to it in the comments below!

Lyrics:
Saulala sadina lylia
Aš regėjau, sadina lylia
Saulala sadina lylia
Aukštų kalnų, sadina lylia
Saulala sadina lylia
Ant to kalno, sadina lylia
Saulala sadina lylia
Du berželiu, sadina lylia
Saulala sadina lylia
Tuos berželiuos, sadina lylia
Saulala sadina lylia
Dvi gegiulės, sadina lylia
Saulala sadina lylia
Užkukavo, sadina lylia
Saulala sadina lylia
Ir atėjo, sadina lylia
Saulala sadina lylia
Atilsėlis, sadina lylia

Not a day goes by without sutartine I’m sure your performances will be popping up in my u tube recommendations
Kaip gražu... Ačiū.
Singing with you Sisters 💚 I'm from North East Poland and feeling this in my veins.... Would you be able to share the lyrics translation? Thank you !
Even bowing when singing each own part is traditional. Of course sutartinės are sung standing. But I even forgot they are sitting in Seiza. :) Amazing!
When I was in Lietuva at the Romuvos Stovykla, as we sung to the setting sun, we also were in a kneeling position, bowing. So perhaps this position is specifically for the sun?
@@EsmereldaPea This way of sitting was unknown in Lithuania before the introduction to yooga practices and Japanese culture. It is definitely a modern thing. To me it is a beutiful and kind of logical blend of cultures regarding the meditative nature of sutartinės.
@@fidenemini111 - hmmm. I'd never heard that. I'll have to do some research. Do you have any sources that explain this?
As sutartinės has been sung at work and so on, I guess they may have been sung in every pose
This is really cool, you don't look Lithuanian and thats nice! Grazie mile!
Thank you
...all three ov you.
Labas everyone. This is mesmerizing!
jus juokaujat
idomu iš kur jos tai moka??????? Tokias dainas nėra paprasta dainuoti.
Sutartinės yra meditacija. Susikaupti, įsijausti, klausytis viens kito ir savęs, sutarti... Tik iš pradžių sunku. O paskui labai gera. Ypač padeda išsivalyti smegenis. Ir tikrai veža!
