    My Arctis 1 Wireless is still going strong. The compatibility and battery life are great. I'd be really tempted to get the PC38x if I didn't have it since I want an open backed pair, but the built-in mic monitoring of the Arctis does a decent job making up for that.

    I got a pair of audezes and I wore them for nearly an entire day for a couple of flights from london to san jose, including a 7 hour layover in LAX, not one problem with the comfort. My only complaint with them is the delicacy of the drivers, which can lead to some audible crinkling if you're not careful with them.

      @ironicness Před 2 lety +1

      Have you updated the latest driver? Because it massively improves the low level crinkling.
      I’ve gotta say my pair of Audezes are one of my favourite purchases ever. To be fair I wouldn’t say they’re the most comfortable headset, the wireless range isn’t great. But in terms of sound quality it’s all worth it. Rival a pair of audiophile headphones for listening to music, great Bluetooth functionality and compared to my friends who are playing with Artic pro wired and Astros I can hear so much more and regularly calling out to them

    good to see a high-end set of cans.... would love to see Dmitry's opinion of the Audeze LCD-GX and some Studio grade cans like the Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro and MMX series, both Open and Closed type headsets. i currently have a set of DT 1770 Pro with the Velour cushions and they are incredible for gaming. my mic is a Blue Yeti X WoW Edition. The DT1770 are also used for studio use and DJ work. i do have other headsets like the AiAiAi TMA 2, Sony WH-1000XM4 and Sennheiser HD25 but found them uncomfortable after a while when gaming. ivé had gaming-centric headsets before (logi and Razer) and they were awful, so i went down the high end path to what i am using now. separate dedicated Headphones and Microphone. i do hope Dmitry reviews the Audeze GX as i would like to get a good pair of ópen' style headphones...

    For anyone curious about the Logitech g pro x (wired), the way the size adjustment clasps are designed are cheap. Mine started cracking within 3 months of use (back in the middle of 2020). My headset finally broke today and I couldn’t hear any audio ( even with all the trouble shoot methods such as firmware, internal Pc / in game settings, and redownloading the app). I will say I take pretty good care of my stuff and I don’t bang my gear around. The quality of performance is phenomenal (blue mic/ surround sound and side tones) but build quality is a pass ( it happened to 3 friends of mine with the same wired model as well) *edit*

      @@brfootyballl8070 tbh at that price point you have a few options, also depending on your intentions with the headset (like for example if you use an external mic such as a blue yeti for streaming or you just want good old comfort and sound with a decent mic)
      I love my Corsair HS80 everything is fantastic about it so far ( mic quality is phenomenal for a wireless headset) only gripe I have on this headset is the side tone functionality is kinda quiet and you can’t really bend the mic ( I like to hear if I am speaking to loud or not)
      But some other suggestions I would have are
      Any of the steel series line
      HyperX cloud (was 70 now it’s 49.99 at Best Buy. I don’t know how long that sale is going to last)
      Corsair void elite rgb wireless (it’s a step down from HS 80 but cheaper and great value for your money usually around 65$)
      Friend of mine has a Razer Kraken V3 Hypersense (wired) and I love it especially for the haptic feedback but it’s around a 129.99 price point (maybe some stores will have holiday sales
      Logitech g435 light speed is comfy compact, nice color ways and decent sound and mic. I’ve seen it for as low as $59. If you aren’t too picky on going mid tier or high tier then these are a nice low tier get the job done headset. Plus it’s blue tooth wireless
      Astro A40 TR (wired) are fantastic especially with the mix amp with it (great competitive and high quality headset) that was actually one of my headsets I owned for a long time after I made the switch from turtle beaches. I owned an older model from 2013 I believe and they still work til this day. I do not use them anymore because I gave my former PC rig and those astro to my brother last year just so he can game on the computer. Def recommend this one (plus you can do custom ear cups and face plates to personalize)
      Tbh these are some that come to mind as of recently , also with your preferences and comfort play a big factor with how you might want to choose your preference.
      (Are you a streamer/content creator (using external usb mics or want a high quality headset mic), casual/competitive gaming, audiophile, wireless vs wired (or want both))etc…

      Cracking plastic is the bane of cheap to midrange headphones it seems. I've been using a pair of Plantronics GameCom 788 for probably five years now. Within a week I saw that they had developed a crack there the left earcup attaches. I was a bit miffed but decided to see how long it would hold together. Now many ears later the crack is still there, though I haven't really looked at it in the last few years. I've had exactly one problem with these, it was the microphone that stopped working. Opening up the earcup I found it was a bas solder joint. Every other solder joint looked perfect, but one of the leads for the mic was some of the worst excuse for a solder joint I have ever seen. Fixing that was a few seconds using a cheap solder iron. I'm not swapping these headphones before I can no longer keep them working. As they predate Win10 by quite a lot and they are USB devices that need a driver to enable the nicer features I initially had some trouble getting them to work with Win10. I'm not looking forward to getting everything working on Win11, but that's for another day.

So you can game and chat via Smartphone Discord etc. With the EPOS H3Pro Hybrid you can connect wireless via dongle + wireless via Bluetooth. But that comes at a pretty hefty price for a overall meh/okay music performance. It's not bad but not really good either, depending from what Headphone-Quality your coming it's either okay or meh music wise. For competitive gaming the position is not top notch and the detaisl could be better, but the separation of sounds is good and it isolates well.

    I currently use the Drop Sennheisser PC38X but I think you're missing some factors in your review methodology. While not a bad headset I wear it for several hours per day - About 6 months of use so far. However it's not as comfortable as you describe, you're wrong - I have an average sized head and ears but yet it has a clamping force higher than desirable and your ears do touch some parts which can be irritating after an hour of prolonged use. I think your Hardware Canucks review style and production values are high but you need to use more individuals in the testing process otherwise what's comfortable to one person isn't for the other and this can provide an incorrect opinion of the comfort. I'm continually on the search for a headset that offers 1) comfort, 2) sound quality and 3) microphone quality but most vendors struggle to provide something wired/wireless with all three factors considered.

The only thing that really disheartened me and ruined them was that after a couple months, the sound started cutting out multiple times during a gaming session, starting being a cut per every couple seconds. And the rotating cuffs ended up cracking after a year of casual and careful use. They also had short range while stepping away from the room w/ the xbox.

    I also think the SHP9500 with a vmoda boompro mic is a great option. Modmic works too, but it's an extra cable. Otherwise the wireless modmic would be a good pair with the SHP9500 as well. Edit: They also make a closed back headset version with a mic, but I have not tried it yet called the TAG6105

    I have tried a few things. Modmic wireless GET IT! I tried their wired mics before and they were honestly garbage. Modmic Wireless on the other hand, as good as it can get. For convenience I dropped my Studio mic for mod mic wireless. Want to sound good? that is what you get. Hopefully a type C in the future.
    As for headsets? I always was recommending Game one, good sound quality and usuable mic. Now that the new Epos H6 pro doesn't look like a total joke, unlike their previous models, that might be a good pick up!
    I tried the Audeze, what a joke. Sounds like shit, drops connection endlessly and the mic is unusable at best.
    I myself, will be sticking with my Philips Fidelio X2 and the modmic wireless for now. I would like to go fully wireless, but something has to convince me first.

    • @Scoop9599
      @Scoop9599 Před 2 lety

      I think their wired mics are good, except they’re dependent on your sound card. The wireless isn’t, and as such you get sound exactly as they designed it.
      Also, was it really ever $79? I’m seeing $140 rn everywhere

      They know this, but they live of sponsorships. Also the best option is using a lavalier type of microphone and sound better than modmics.

    • @athmaid
      @athmaid Před 2 lety +2

      @@IndivisibleByZero but then you have another cable unless you get something like a Rode Wireless Go. I think the main reason they made this video is not because of the affiliate links but because many people just wanna pick up one product and be done with it. They don't want to deal with having to glue a microphone on their pair of headphones or buy some that have a detachable cable so they can fit a BoomPro. I mean say they did a video about ModMics and lavalier mics, some people would complain that they should get a dedicated mic and stand, hook that up to a mixer/interface, and use proper headphones with it. There is always room for improvement, but most people just don't care
