Techne what do you think of the hd 6xx music. I have the closed version of the h6pro , and it is nice. A little too much bass for me. But overall good for casual listening like hip-hop, rock, electronic music. It has a nice soundstage. I recommend a dac/amp for this. Need more than 10% volume and more detail. But for jazz, classical music, softsinger, audiophile listening , critical listening I would like another one. What is your opinion about the 6xx. No, gaming, no movie , just critical listening. Thanks for your work !!!

Viktor, I have the Drop HD6XX and the clamping force of those is pretty aggressive (i have a medium to small head) and for music, i find that my HD6XX are fairly dull, not bright and punchy as i would prefer...I get much better results with much cheaper AKG K240 and even with my HyperX Cloud II believe it or not. Timing is good to read your comment as I precisely tested them and also my wired Sennheiser Momentum (that I love) today by listening to Reggaeton (Bad Bunny baby), classical (Vivaldi 4 seasons L"Estate Summer III Presto (oouuuff max volume)), EDM (Darude Sandstorm), classic rock, etc... either on SMSL DAC or my standard Onkyo amp (via Digital output) and the Sennheiser H6XX did not come up as winner... Sound, like beauty is mainly a question of personal preference. Hope this helps.

He also reviews the pc38x, which I was thinking about picking up, but after seeing both those reviews, I could tell which was better. I can't stand the comments in headphone vids.. if you say something is trash or good please say what type of games you play with the headsets and why it's good or not good! Some say things are trash because they can't hear foot steps a mile away, but it would sound amazing for story games or just regular people who don't care how perfect footsteps are. Just give a little more info. We could all help each other alot more if you just gave some more info on how you game, what you like and are looking for in a headset, that way recommended headsets actually mean something other then "it's good, trust me bro" I'm not sure what "trust me bro" freaking sounds like!

I'm gaming with some audio Technica ath-m50xBT2, they tweaked the sound on these a bit compared to the regular m50x's. I've compared the differences in games and music and the new bluetooth ones "hard wired to your pc" have a perfect sound stage. Amazing detail at all frequencies. I also noticed sound direction is perfect on these too. You can tell which direction footsteps, sounds, and enemies are coming from. I will never purchase another gaming headset from here on out. Don't waste your time with gaming headsets, settle for a nice pair of headphones and pair with a separate mic or inline mic and you will be happy.

The PC38X was my first open back pair of headphones but for me the build quality and comfort just weren't good enough for the price. If they were 100 to 130 USD, I would say that they are more worth it for sure. I decided to return these in favor of the HD 58X, which are also open back, and for me they are perfect. They are the same price as the PC38x but the comfort and build quality are much better and in my opinion the sound quality is much better as well.

      I own the pc38x, HD58x, and hd560s.
My experience, the pc38x is slightly more accurate in sound direction compared to the HD58x. In addition, you still need to purchase a separate mod mic for the HD58x.
Further more, the pc38x goes on sell for $129 every so often.
Now, with the hd560s, this spanks the hell out of both of these in accurate imaging sound detection, especially with stacking, hearing the accurate details in sound coming from above or below you.

I really don’t like techne take on open back headphones, it’s been proven over and over that open back headphones are just better for competitive fps. I mean there’s a reason why a lot of competitive gamers use open back headphones. I think he’s completely wrong I think most people will say open back headphones are better for depth and locational accuracy. I think his take on open back headphones is completely a personal opinion rather than based on facts.
